But do they work on 29r wheels ?
What doesn't make sense is when you set the wheel size into the computer. The mounting location on your forks can vary by a few inches which in fact makes inputting a measurement pointless without having a pre determined location on the wheel. It doesn't say to mount it a certain distance from the axle which would make the installation and setup more accurate.
the sensor and magnet simply count the revolutions of the wheel. The bike rolls the distance of the circumference of the wheel for each revolution and the computer adds these up to give you the speed and distance. The sensor can be anywhere on the fork and still count the revolutions of the wheel.
Getting the sensor, and the magnet too far apart, will loose magnetic ' pull , thus ' possibly ' loosing signal strength ( I don't know ). The magnet, and the sensor don't have to worry about the distance around the tire. The sensor, and the magnet just need to meet up so they can say ' Hi ' ANYWHERE along the imaginary ' center line '. That is all that is required for those two ' pals ' to have to do. The rest is done inside the device. The device calculates the circumference ( distance along the outermost point of the tire ).
So, if I have a distance of 10" from the center of the axil to the top of the tire, it means that I have a 20" tire diameter.
Example : Paint white, the eighth lug nut of a big truck tire. Now, take a string, and hold it onto the center of the axil. Then, line up the string so it passes right over the center of the white lug nut taking the string to the top of the tire. Now, draw a white line along the string from the top of the tire, to the axil ' s center. So, as you will see, you can place the magnet up high, or down low, but not so low that the magnet is too close, and may draw upon the sensor ( hmm ? ) as it comes half way around at the 180° position.
Mounting position doesn't matter. The magnet will pass by the sensor with the same frequency for a given speed, regardless of distance from the axle.
You should have paid more attention in school bud. It counts revolutions vs time, not the speed by which the magnet passes the sensor vs distance from axle

Does this odometer trace miles like a car odometer?
Mine didn’t have the clock icon and also the manual didn’t say anything about holding both buttons. I don’t know how to do the signal test where it states to move the magnet back and forth.

I have the same one and if I take the battery out and put it in my odometer does not reset , just clarifying that.
Ok. Real tech question. My cir is 2154 mm. Which says my wheel will turn 747 rotations per mile. The 2154 number is not exactly dialed in when I do a 1 mile course. It’s off by 0.02 miles. Or 2%. A correction of 2% times 2154 is like 42. That changes the circumference number too much. What am I doing wrong? Seems like I need to adjust the cir by 2 or 3 mm not 42. Thanks
I demounted the computer from my bike because i dont want it to get stolen, when i installed it back it flashed and now i lost all my kilometers and needs it to set up again, can i get my data back or no?
My speedometer doesn’t want to record miles or time my runs? I’ve tried holding the left button but it doesn’t work.
How do you clear the maintenance symbol? After getting the miles to turn on the maintenance symbol I can't get it to go away. Its a flashing tool.

So you have to reset the whole thing to find out how many miles you went on each trip unless you make a note of prior cummulative mileage? Wish I had know before purchase. Thank you for great video.

So, if I stop for coffee, and I see that the odometer shows 2 miles. I don't TOUCH the odometer. I spend 5 minutes buying coffee. I get back onto bike. I do not TOUCH the odometer. What will the odometer show for miles _______? [Blank one]
Also, as I ride for ; say a mile, then look at the odometer, what will it say _______ ? [Blank two]
Next day. I clear ' miles ', and ' time ' to zero. I ride 2 miles. I see time says : 10 minutes. I stop for 5 minutes. I don't TOUCH ANY PART OF THE ODOMETER DEVICE. I get back on bike and ride for 5 minutes.
What does the time say on the device now - and this is, still having not TOUCHED the device _______ ? [Blank three]

U don’t need to turn it off. The first one I got was a little over a year ago and I never turned it off and still works perfectly. But yes if I wanna turn off pull the battery but u will lose all ur data and need setup again.
