I have an E39 and an E36. I'm contemplating selling one of them, but I think I'll regret doing so... don't know if an E92 335i would be a good replacement for the 328i... or would it turn out to be a maintenence nightmare. Dammit.
@@nigalic Yeah, getting the E92 over the E36 is probably gonna be something that I'd regret later on. I've heard quite a few stories of people who had E36s and then selling it to get into E46 and E9x and then regretting their decisions. Same about E39 owners who went for E60s and F10s. They all say that the newer cars are just heavy, full of electronics and not as nice to drive as the older cars. I've never driven a 335i E92, but I figure it would be fast af.... I've only driven an e90 320d and that was kinda fun. What makes it worse is that the E36 that I own is a very nice specimen, completely stock and previously owned by a lady who did mostly highway miles. If I let this one go, its gonna be really difficult to come across such a car again. Sigh...
I've got a BMW m5 e39 with 478k miles, I still daily it doing 90 miles a day. This video is encouraging me to do a full crazy 4-day detail, last time I detailed it like that was at 410k miles. Brilliant video.
@@derekstocker6661 Nice, look after it and it will keep running. Mines now got 515k miles. Last summer I did a 7000-mile road trip, the only issue I had was a faulty fuel pump which was the original one from the factory.
I loved my old 540i, best car I've ever owned by a country mile. No matter how old and scruffy an e39 gets, somehow with a bit of TLC they polish up a treat and can still look as good as new like this one. The original paint was so good and very thick. Excellent work. PS, hope you put some clear coat on those wheels after the polish!
Aidan, I love the attention you give you give to this e39. Truely a great car. I have a 97' 540iA, Alpine White, with 160k miles. Runs great, great body, no rust, no damage, but in need of considerable mechanical refresh. Your video, to me, reinforces the need to keep these excellent sport sedans alive. Hope mine is returned to its, as new, glory!
I immensely appreciate the effort and quality of care for the overhaul process. This really brings out the best of what the car community is really about. I miss my E39 530i... I'll have another one soon enough. Keep up the great work brother !
Another banger as usual my dude! Love it. This thing turned out so clean (pun intended, lmao). Did you do any interior work on this thing? That's the cleanest almost-400k car I've ever seen lol. Whoever the owner is must take great care of their cars.
Thank you man!! And I actually didn’t touch the interior, the owner did! But even before he cleaned it, it was still just as clean. He pretty much just knocked the dust off!
One of my favorite bmw chassis from that era and even today it still turns peoples heads around while driving by, also own a manual 96 cosmos black 540i i really love it...
Been driving my 2001 540i M sport 6 speed 17 years. Has 230K miles, chain guides just done, still were not broken, but time to do them. Car runs like a dream. Always has. I chane oil at 5K intervals, run eithanol free gas, and absolutely adore this car. Just got the new headlight assemblies from Hella. The Euro spec ones. ///M power
Thanks for giving that e39 some TLC… it has a soft place in my heart… e39 was my first BMW and I owned 2 so far… will most likely buy another once I free up some space in my garage. E39s are pure joy to drive!
My 97 540i E39 with 350 thousand km on her, same colour, needs this. I haven't even watched more than two minutes of this yet and I'm on the edge of my seat already. I'm gonna enjoy this!
Holy s'it! I have the same exact car! Same exact style 5 rims, 324 oxfordgruen metallic, same interior color, it's almost a twin! I have 192k miles on it, a stick shift, and had modified it quite a bit. Love this paint color, one of the main reasons I bought the car several years ago. Amazing this one is in such a good condition, way better condition than mine, even with all the miles! Great job on those rims, some day soon I'll be doing this too. Great video! Cherry car!
Thanks so much for this, I love the E39 and I run an E36 that I have had for over 20 years, love the music with this vid! Looking forward to your E36 vid and well done on this makeover, great work!
I have a 2005 E46 that is nearing 300,000 and I maintain it religiously. I also have a very low millage 2014 F10 with the M Sport option. Wonderful driving machines when properly taken care of.
18:02 love those drums and those chords🔥 My style 5s could really use this… just picked up a manual sport package e39 528iT, super rare these days. I subbed after this video especially with the music choice
Superior work nothing like a buff on an Oem painted older model bmw truly a timeless classic in my opinion keep up the good work homie you going places for sure 💯
Love it! The leatherette interior wears so much better than the "Montana" leather interior that came with the Premium Package cars. My parents had a 2000 528i when I was a kid -- too bad their car was basic Alpine White on black leather with no Sport Package (no BBS wheels).
God damn that came out good! Love a nice fresh Boston green! And oh my lord does the shop look cool now! It all coming together. Keep it homie, love what you’re doing ❤️❤️
Awesome Excellent workmanship...Congrats to you. Admire your ability & cleanliness...the best professionalism indeed...much time requirement but great result.
Awesome craftsmanship and video as always. Just a little advice on the RC090 refurbish: the mark on the face for the alignment of the center cap is always opposite the valve hole.
Thanks man I appreciate it! And yep I’m aware! The reason I positioned the faces the way I did was because someone replaced the center logos inside the caps at some point and didn’t center them with the valve stems, so I made it to where they aligned with the stems!
@@AidanTemplin Just seeing this comment tells me you're an attention oriented pro. I have an '03 540i. 180k miles. I would like to go over the exterior and come up with a plan of action to bring it back to a mirror finish. Is a conversation like this something you do?

E39 is a masterpiece, like E38 and E46. What a great era it was
Well, just so you kids know, the great era started back with the e12...
Back when BMW were making the best possible driving machines 👌
Now they are famous for just their buttface grilles.
