I'm glad you mentioned "I've been detailing it for a week". I think it's easy for a lot of detailing enthusiasts to overwhelm themselves trying to achieve this over a weekend. It's important to realize that this level of detail takes some serious time! It's not an afternoon project.
This is the same thing people do when they read about a historical event that happened over 20 years, like a war. Everything gets viewed in a massively skewed timetable. It's good you took the time to point this out so people can be realistic about their work and outcome when they do this for passion and not as a job so they can limit their expectations.
that's why i closed my entreprise of detailing, I was never satisfy because of details .. and costumers want perfect car in 2h.... and cheap !

The E39 M5 is a literal dream car of mine and you turned that particular car into the cleanest example on the road - hands down. Nicely done!!
I had my first encounter with one today in at least ten years. Friend of a friend on a drive today. We drove some quiet twisty roads and I was seriously impressed with the pace it could keep up on such a tight road. It’s definitely a dream car for me too along with an e92 M3, the design is timeless and it looks just as imposing in the rear mirror nowadays. Very quiet though, definitely in need of an aftermarket exhaust to wake it up a bit. Hope you manage to get one someday!
@@a20axf that’s awesome. A buddy of mine drove one for a few years but got rid of it and to this day, I still give him a hard time about it! The E92 M3 is also an incredible car. One of the greatest road going coupes ever.

I’m following this vehicle on Cars&Bids for its 8 day auction journey…and as of today(date announced) it’s up to $43K. I foresee this climbing much higher…above my budget…but I do pray it goes to a loving-enthusiast home! Great video…HUGE LIKE!!

My love for these cars started with my first car being a 1998 528i e39, even though it was a 5 series it completely engulfed me with love for the M5. I only hope that I can one day own this legend of a car. Thank you for doing a video on one, absolutely loved it.

Absolutely love the detailing work. I love older bmw’s that bring back that class from back in the day but can we also mention the updated editing style with the asmr in the little edits. Really excited seeing new style in editing. Great work Larry!

8:49 - I also performed a paint correction on a "well-loved" black E39 M5 late last year and I totally agree, the paint is extremely cooperative and perfect for polishing. By far the easiest black car I've ever polished, and one of the easiest paint corrections I've done in general. Also, I tried several leather cleaners while cleaning the interior, and AMMO Lather was the only one that left me with a perfect matte finish on the leather that didn't feel sticky, definitely my go-to leather cleaner now.
I'm not a huge BMW fan but the E39 M5 is such a great car, the build quality is superb and the way they drive is so buttery smooth. The shifter felt smooth, tight, and precise which is unusual from a BMW of that era. The clutch was on the heavier side, but the bite point was exactly where you'd expect it to be. The suspension is smooth and forgiving, but definitely does a great job of hiding the fact that the car weighs 4000lbs and it handles fantastic for a 20+ year old car.

The E39 M5 is still the best example of an M5. Also the E46 M3. Both just have that classic-looking curves. Plus the last two generations of a true driving car with true manual

Having driven my brother-in-law's E39 M5 from Edmonton to Vancouver Island a few years ago I can attest to the fact the E39 M5 is a fantastic driver's car. I once owned a 03 530i and that sedan was also a fantastic driver's car capable of running at 130 km/ph all day. The M5 featured looks terrific. Bravo Larry a job well done!

Man - watching the foam canon cover the car is the best in every detailing video - just knowing its coated the entire car from top to bottom and now it just needs to get scrubbed down
