i love this type of video so much omg. please make more inspo videos for like tv shows, movies, celebrities, characters, or literally anything. this was so helpful and gave me so many ideas!! ❤
yayy i'm so glad you liked it!! honestly these take a while to organize lol but i'm so glad you like it because theyre super inspiring for me too! any specific requests i should prioritize 👀
I would love a buffy version!! Also it may be not quite your style but Only Murders in the Building - Mabel has amazing sweaters I want to figure out how to knit!!@@starcrossedknits
Sveaborg pullover is a gem! I’m so happy I found this pattern thanks to your video. Strange that I had never seen it before even though I’m always scrolling down on Sari Nordland’s Ravelry page.
FINALLY getting around to watching your videos. Started with this one because Gilmore Girls. Loved a lot of the patterns. Really want to make the Boob Window Top so girls night out can really be girls night out. And I do really want to know how you feel about Dean.
@@starcrossedknits it’s going well! I cast on for the first time in my life almost 3 months ago and have finished a few Sophie scarves, a cable hat, and I’m now working my first raglan sweater. So steady progress, but it’ll be a while before I feel capable of editing/modifying patterns to get an exact replica. :)
hell yeah, that's such good progress so far!!! i love when i see other ppl who approach building their knitting skills in a similar way as i did when i was first learning! im BEGGING you to document the process when u finally do attempt the recreation! @@erinpearce3577
I love this video because I'm definitely a Gilmore Girls fan (I was a Rory fan when it first came out, but totally a Lorelai fan now!), however I was really surprised and disappointed at how few of the patterns you shared were size-inclusive, especially because you value size-inclusivity in your own designs. If you do more of these videos it would be great to see more size-inclusive patterns -- how cool would a Taylor Swift-inspired knitwear video be? 🤩
I'm sorry to have disappointed you :( Though the majority of the patterns I shared are inclusive, I honestly agree that it sucks that I couldn’t find inclusive patterns for every one of them!! Thankfully inclusivity has improved so much since the early 2000s, but that sometimes means that some vintage-y trends like the ones in this video can be tough to find good inclusive patterns for. I am deffff doing my best to bring more inclusive Lorelai-inspired patterns into the world with my own designs, I just wish I could design and knit 10 times as fast!!! 😪 My goal that I always have for these videos is general knitting inspiration- so I think that people might still be inspired by elements of various knitting patterns, even if they wouldn’t choose to knit the specific pattern that I'm showing as a reference. Maybe that's a naive mindset that's clouded by being a designer myself? Because I think the beauty of making our own clothes is that we can find inspiration everywhere and modify our projects to our hearts’ content - so maybe someone wouldn’t have thought to modify their fav inclusive design to add a flared sleeve, but including that inspo in this video could give them that idea. But as I promised, this inspo video and my future ones will be including sizes up front for any pattern mentioned. I hope this helps explain my thought process and intentions more clearly
@@starcrossedknits thank you for your honest and thoughtful reply Tamara, I really appreciate your dedication to size-inclusivity in your designs and yes we haven certainly improved in available sizing since the 2000s!
Hi! I would just like to say that I don't think the Hourglass sweater you mention at 6:54 is actually available? I cannot find it, and several other people on the Raverly page say the same thing. The only thing I've found about it is a list of corrections, along other corrections for other patterns. I saw in the projects that some people have completed the sweater after 2018 (when I think it was pulled from the internet), but I'm not sure where or how long they've had the pattern. Did you find the pattern? Thanks:)
@@emiknits02 Oh no, bummer! I try not to share patterns that are unavailable but I made this video 10 months ago so I can’t really remember at this point, sorry! I like to include things for the inspiration as well, like to highlight various elements that characters tend to wear, even if you’re not able to literally recreate it
the way the cadence of "a birken bag. A birken bag for Rory" has become like an intrusive melody in my head over the years... i love her @@starcrossedknits

"as with most tv shows, theyre wearing clothes" 🤣🤣🤣
Fun fact, I learned to knit solely to eventually recreate the Rory Sweater. I can’t believe nobody has recreated and written an exact pattern for it!
hahah that's amazing, where are you on your journey to reaching that goal? and honestly someone should, the ppl yearn for it!!!
