  • Can Am owners I'm sorry this was a 1 hour oil change even with camera setup, checking air filter, reset service clock and a test drive. GoPro Volta grip used...great accessory. Please checkout my book, "Mind Kill, Rise of The Marauder" at Amazon and Kindle. Please stay healthy and safe and thank you for watching my video.

    It takes me 15 minutes to chg oil & filter in my Ranger 900xp. Some tips. Get a metal filter cap that fits on a 3/8 drive rachet, any Walmart, fleet farm, tractor supply will have the hex shaped filter cap. Filter change under a minute.
    No need to remove the pin on the box I'm 290 lbs & just flip up the rubber duct hose for the clutch cooler to get to the filter, no need to remove that either. I can do all 3 oil changes under an hour, front diff, rear trans, engine.

    Love your video adventures and informational content. My question is about your Atv floor jack. Is the Jack rated at 1500 ibs and does your Ranger weigh around 2000 ibs? Do you feel it is a safe lift? I want you around for a long time. God Bless.

    • @maraudermitchelli
      @maraudermitchelli  Рік тому +1

      Earl very thoughtful thank you. I can't remember what it is rated for. The Ranger is probably 2000 lbs, and the jack is lifting half the machine...my guess it's rated for at least 1500 lbs. The jack does have a safety lock. After I watched this video on UA-cam I realized what I did wasn't safe...you are exactly right. Thank you for your concern. Happy New Year

    I have to disagree with your Defender comment.....it is super easy. Literally 15 minutes on the 2020 Defender, which most of that time is letting the oil drain. Your oil looks good....how overdue were you??

    • @maraudermitchelli
      @maraudermitchelli  Рік тому +1

      Mark you can disagree, on my defender limited I thought I had to remove rear lower firewall panels to gain access to the oil filter. I was worried I would lose the oil filter cover screws drop onto the black frame. I thought I removed 7-8 screws just to remove the firewall panels. Please watch my the defender limited oil change and tell me what I did wrong…seriously I’m going to watch it tonight maybe I’m remembering wrong 😑 let me know and thank you 😊

      @@maraudermitchelli Hi Pete……I had a look at your video on the Can Am Defender oil change. Wow….no wonder you thought oil changes were difficult. There is no need to do any dismantling of the cab seats and firewall. You simply lift up the box at the back…..no need to unhook the shock absorber. Everything is done from the passenger side to remove the oil filter. You simply reach down between the engine block and the air filter box and remove the oil filter cap, pull out the paper filter and reverse the removal procedure. Drain plug access is better on your new machine, but you did it fine on the Defender. I don’t recommend you put the front wheels on ramps and jack the rear. You can either have two sets of ramps and put the whole machine up or just drive the rear tires up on the ramps. I also do not recommend you wrench on the oil filter, you can simply hand tighten the filters. The filters are very thin and dent easy and that wrench you are using is hard to regulate even pressure on the filter. You will need a wrench to remove, even with hand tightening. I do all my own oil changes except on my X6 M BMW……do you do it on your BMW? Hope this was helpful. I watched this video again, your jack is the wider motorcycle/ATV jack……looks pretty stable. I liked your comment to younger people just starting out with getting tools, so true. Also accumulate quality tools over time not buy a bunch of cheap tools all at once. I found a good video for you to watch…..Defender Basic Service by 47Industries. One final comment…..I’m curious why you don’t you a funnel when filling the unit…..no spills…..easy peasy!!!!

    Hello Pete! Changing the oil filter in the Polaris is much easier than the Can-Am Defender, however it can be done without going through the interior. Check out how this guy does it. You don't have to remove the bed. Just detach the hydraulic assist to give you a little more room and you should be good to go. Be careful not to drop the cap screws!
    ua-cam.com/video/pG6vEGNJKuM/v-deo.html
    I also find it convenient to pick up a cheap pack of absorbent drop cloth at your local brick & mortar store. Just simply lay it down, drive on top of it and wala. Helps keep your garage floor clean during fluid changes. God bless!
