Peter Williams was a real gem in the series, his embodiment of Apophis from the looks to the voice, genuinely made you feel like you were beholding an actual Egyptian god as opposed to some actor in makeup. Serpent song is also hands down my fav ep too! there was something really magical about hearing the account of a humble temple scribe who existed in ancient Egypt, displaced in time by thousands of years to this present awakening, all of which is being channelled from the same face that we know only to be an evil space warlord. Its a real credit to the performance of Peter. I really wish they did more stuff like that, hell you could even do a whole series exploring the insane dichotomy that exists between the two lives that inhabit the same body. Especially where one is based in futuristic themes of space travel and the other is rooted in the perspective of an ancient historic culture. The collision of those themes in one character make for some really cool story opportunities.
His recounting of his dad hit home with me. My dad deteriorated in a similar way from cancer and that death scene always re triggered the memory of the last moments I had with my father. That Peter drew from personal experience with his own fathers final time before passing now makes perfect sense.
The Serpents Song episode was outstanding. Incredible acting on the part of Peter Williams. That moment when he suddenly aged so fast yet still presented a great threat as Amanda Tapping leaned toward his softly spoken voice, which he all of a sudden became Apophis again in all his eye flashing menace. I think the line was, "I sense a presence in you". Man that creeped me out. Such a compelling end when Chris Judge finally passed him through the gate. One of the best SG-1 episodes out of so many. And yes, I'm watching them all again on Amazon 👍

Peter Willams was so awesome in Stargate SG1.
Love it! Great clip, from the man behind one of the best series recurring alien villains of all time.

That was really cool to see!
When the human host cries out for his lost love is just heartbreaking
