    About Youngsang Cho
    Youngsang Cho is Organic Farmer. Cho learned Natural Farming from his father Hankyu Cho(Korea Natural Farming, KNF) who advocated environmental agriculture since the 1960s. Cho family has been organic farming for the third generation. Cho served in 706 special forces and graduated from Aju University (Bachelor, Chemistry) and Chungnam National Uni (Master, Horticulture). Cho has entered the Ph.D. course from the Department of Agricultural Biology at Chonbuk National University. Cho started organic agriculture in 1989. Through decades of practice and research, he created a new Ultra-Low-Cost organic agriculture system based on his father's farming and Asian traditional farming. He founded “JADAM” in 1991. In 2022, JADAM's membership exceeded 80,000.

    I got a small amount of JWA from someone online to become hands-on familiar with it and compare it to dish soap. I have decided to make my own now - for plants, and skin, laundry, house cleaning, etc. It impresses me how versatile yet gentle it is - not the same as a degreaser detergent like Dawn brand but is a more appropriate tool for many things. I think family and neighbors will like it too, and they can add essential oils if they wish. Thank you to Youngsang Cho and everyone who contributes to making JADAM so accessible in English.

    2.5 liters of distilled water + 3.2 kilos of potassium hydroxide - dissolve thoroughly + 18 liters canola oil - mix thoroughly with drill-attached stirrer on high rpm.......for about 5 - 10 minutes or until the mix turns to the consistency of thin mayonaise (color condensada milk)............let it sit for 3 days for saponification - turns into something like butter or thick mayonaise (if you press on the resulting mix after 3 days sitting, it will feel like cheese melted half-way). now, add 20 liters of distilled water (how much?) use drill-attached stirrer to break up the lumps thoroughly (do not overstir to foam it, objective is to break up lumps). then add 60 liters of water and mix with wooden stick now (be patient with this process to thoroughly make a homogenous mix...mix is now 100 liters. go back to stirring every 2 hours............ lit it sit for 24 hours

    In your chart at 32:40, it says "Standard: 500L (4 gal)" but 500L is 132 gallons not 4 gallons (4gallon is 15L) which is quite a difference.

    You stated that this soap breaks don’t wn in the environment over a 5 day period. If mixed with a insecticide does it effect the effectiveness of the insecticide or shorten it’s residual period? In other words, many insecticides have a 30 to 90 day residual period, where it keeps killer NG bugs, does this soap effect that?

      @@JADAMORGANIC I can imagine so in dry parched soils where dry parched souls try to wet the ground. Silicon also enhances water mobility in soils by forming water complexes. It seems that if you ran a low ppm of JWA in your reservoir along with your nutrient solution then plant absorption of nutrients would be enhanced, an easy physiological study anyway. Surfactact to break surface tension, Microbial innoculant to enhance soil fauna, and nutrient solution to feed the plants.

      @@JADAMORGANIC but then again I can imagine that various forms of mychorhizzal fungi have their own types of localized surfactants that make decayed material more accessible for consumption. Call it slime. 😂 I will have to research the plant- mychorhizzal interface.

    • @JD-ir5fj
      @JD-ir5fj 2 роки тому

      @@JADAMORGANIC surfactants would solubilize lipid bilayers at the interface...
      "Instead, the researchers found a network of round, tubular and dumbbell-shaped structures made of lipid membranes, nearly all of which appeared to connect back to the plant cell’s membrane.
      The researchers were further surprised to find another network of membrane tubules in the space between the fungal cell membrane and the fungal cell wall.
      “It was totally unexpected to see such an extensive proliferation of fungal membrane, particularly knowing that the fungus is starving for lipids,” said Ivanov, the paper’s lead author.
      Harrison and Ivanov speculate that the networks are related to the transfer of lipids.
      “Somehow lipids are released from the plant cell and fed to the fungus, and we wondered how they move through what we thought was an aqueous matrix between the plant cell membrane and the fungal cell wall,” Harrison said. “But maybe this space isn’t so aqueous after all, and perhaps this membrane-rich environment facilitates the movement of lipids between the organisms.”

    • @JD-ir5fj
      @JD-ir5fj 2 роки тому

      @@JADAMORGANIC Yup. There is a mucous like layer there. You can feel it when you get into the layer of decayed detritus. Excess surfactants would disturb that layer but just the right amount might enhance transport through it. I need to look into mychorhizzal ultrastructure under an electron microscope and the nature of the plant-fungal interface because that is where the magic happens.
