Well cartoons in the 80s and 90s were made super cheap super fast in an attempt to push them out as fast as possible. quantity over quality. so despite having better technology it's actually a testimate to how rushed most 90s cartoons are with looking like stuff from the 40s.

@@crithitjaceI don't remember how, but as a kid I had a VHS of several of those shorts. My memory's fuzzy, but I remember it having the short with the robots, the one where a magnet telescope pulled a star or something towards Earth, the one with the mad scientist, Superman pulling the train or whatever, one that took place in a circus, one that I think had to do with Egypt, one that involved a Volcano (did I have 2 VHS tapes? I'm remembering a surprising amount of shorts here, I don't think they all would have fit on 1 vhs lol ) and one that involved the Japanese. While my memory is fuzzy, I remember the shorts on that/those VHS' looking just as good as the clips shown here.
I know youtube has remastered versions, but the animation really did look fantastic. I dunno if the VHS also contained remastered versions of these shorts, but I kinda doubt it.

It's a good thing you specified it has to be in the cinema, because I was gonna point out the ones you missed, but they were radio dramas so it doesn't count for this video.

I think I always took Superman for granted growing up and preferred Batman but watching those 1940s cartoons from Fleischer Studios on UA-cam a few years ago really helped me to appreciate the character much more (along with the much newer My Adventures with Superman cartoon)!
They're very simple to watch and none of Superman's arch-nemeses are in it since most of them didn't exist yet (Lex Luthor would've been brand new then but maybe they didn't have time to add him in), but the animation is gorgeous and I love how badass Superman is portrayed. The main theme is also incredible, just as strong as the one from John Williams imo. There's a few episodes that wouldn't fly today (no pun intended), but they're interesting time capsules regardless and don't take away from how awesome these cartoons are as a whole.

Not surprised with #1. It's so good! I gotta say though, I like Justice League.. yeah, the Joss Whedon cut. It's far from perfect, but the one thing it does better than any of Snyder's movies is Superman. Snyder just doesn't know how to write him. If you want a dark Superman story, cool! Give us the bright and chipper Supes first, so there can be contrast and we can feel/fear his fall from grace. Superman vs The Elite highlights his pretty well.

As a Superman Aficionado, I love the original Christopher Reeve 1978 film the best, however, I rank Man of Steel #2 because I understand it’s supposed to be as if Superman arrived in our cynical modern world and how society reflects him. His father became obsessed with hiding his secret and it’s out of love. Superman could have been cynical himself due to the nature of this world, but he does the right thing. I also love how it’s more like an old school 1950s Sci-Fi Alien invasion, but Superman saves the world in conjunction with the military rather than just humanity saving the world.

What about each of the Superman tv series both live action and animated? I’d be curious to see what ranking you would give classic stories turned movies like, Cinderella, little mermaid, and beauty and the beast. The sheer amount of iterations that exist for each of these stories is staggering.

I have never seen those two serials, but as for the others my personal ranking would be
    1) Superman (1978)
    2) Zack Snyder's Justice League (Yeah I'm counting this one)
    3) Superman II (Both versions, don't ask me which I like more)
    4) Superman (1940s)
    5) Man of Steel
    6) Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
    7) Superman Returns
    8) Justice League
    9) Superman III
    10) Superman and the Mole Men
    11) Superman IV: The Quest for Peace

    Live action:
    Superman (extended cut)
    Superman 2 (extended cut)
Superman and the Mole Men (I can't BELIEVE they put it 12th)
    Superman 2 (Donner cut)
    Superman 3
    Superman (40s)
    Atom Man Vs Superman
    Superman Returns
    Supergirl
    Justice League (theatrical release)
    Steel
    Superman 4
    Man of Steel
    Batman V Superman
I haven't subjected myself to the 4 hour Snyder cut of Justice League yet (I certainly don't believe the narrator for a second that it's better than actually enjoyable DCEU movies like Wonder Woman, Shazam, Aquaman or Suicide Squad 2, but I'm certainly willing to be pleasantly surprised...or, in this case, pleasantly shocked). I also didn't count cameos like Black Adam
    animated:
    Superman Vs The Elite
    All Star Superman
    Fleischer cartoons
    Justice League: The New Frontier
Superman/Batman: Battle of the Super Sons
Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths
    Superman: Man of Tomorrow
    the Lego DC movies
the rest I've seen that weren't bad
the rest I've seen that were bad (sorry: DC has made so many of these by now that a full list would take forever)
    honourable mention:
    The Iron Giant

I disagree about George Reeves lacking his charm as Superman in the "Superman vs the Mole men" film. Much like his Clark Kent, I felt Reeves was great as this more stoic and "straight to business" man of steel. It reminds me alot of Superman during the Golden Age.
My favorite moment in the film is when a group of people, lead by bigot, tries to attack the Mole man in the hospital and Superman goes to defend him, calling out those bigots. When one of them tries to shot him and Lois, Superman simply takes all the mob guns away.

Superman is literally the best superhero. But I really do like all the movies of Superman. But I definitely love the Superman movies in the 70s and Superman from the 1940's cartoons. And also Kirk Allen's portrayal Superman. People should watch Kirk Allen's portrayal more and give him credit where credits due. I know that George Reeves is popular but I prefer Kirk Allen's since he looks the part of Superman and Clark Kent. When I think of the Golden Age Superman that's old back then I think of his portrayal in live action of who Superman is. That's what made me fell in love with Superman because of his heroism and his kind nature. And both of these were revolutionary at those times for cartoons and for movies and media. Clearly Superman doesn't have enough credit for today when we talk about how he affected media and comics in the first place. And that's why I love Superman because he's the best. The best superhero is SUPERMAN 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩!!!!!!!!!!
