In defense of the glasses, I think his complete change in attitude, posture, voice and generally different mannerisms that made the disguise work. I feel like the point is to make sure he’s the literal last person you’d expect to be Superman. Still dumb but I think that’s what the Original artists and writers were going for

I feel like an honorable mention should go to that scene in Superman 2 when he throws the S on his chest at one of the Zod gang and it turns into a big plastic sheet, stops him for a second, then disappears. I mean, wtf was that? When has he ever done that before or since?

I think it's the superman equivalent of a batarang. It's a surprise that he has a gadget as well as his powers to fend off Non. It's never used again and we don't ever see superman use gadgets since his powers are equal to Zod, Ursa and Non.

You don't understand the Martha scene. When Batman hears his mother's name, he realizes he became the monster he thought Superman... okay, I can't even get through that, it's contrived to the point of actually being comical. What were they thinking? Was the idea "ehh, fanboys will rationalize it"?
I'd also add the Superman resurrection scene from Justice League. If you haven't seen the movie yet, it's no surprise that Superman comes back, but his revival is almost as bad as the Martha scene.

I'm sure people have pointed this out before. But there is a lot more that goes into the Superman disguise other than just the Glasses. Kal El actually took acting classes to better perfect his public portrayal of the characters he wheres.
    That's right.
Both Superman, and the Reporter version of Clark Kent, are two different masks for the same person.
But that alone isn't enough to justify it.
We as an audience have an advantage to figuring out that Clark Kent is Superman:
"We know that Clark Kent is Superman."
That may seem cheap, and it kind of is, but it's valid. In the universe of the Superman character, Lay people aren't going to suspect that Superman is anything other than Superman. Why would they? Why would someone who can fly and (well do everything he can do) EVER want to be normal. There is no reason to suspect that Superman is anything other than that. SUPER.
Clark has also taken meticulous counter measures to ensure that both he and Superman appear at the same time. Even having Superman save Clark at several different points.
He always has an alibi for his disappearances as well.
He wears tailored baggy clothes to make himself look frail, slouches, talks in a higher octave, and acts clumsy and submissive. Those facts alone would prevent anyone from ever suspecting anything.
He parts his hair to a different side, and wears glasses. The icing on the cake.
-Have you ever seen someone without their glasses that your used to seeing them with, They look pretty weird huh? Now what if he/she parted his hair to a completely different side? Stood taller? Looked much more fit and healthy? Wrote with a different dominant hand? Talked in a lower octave? What about all of those at once?
    - It would probably take you maybe even a few minutes to recognize them. But in this circumstance you have the advantage of knowing that that id your friend. Now what happens if your friend walks in the door while your looking at this other person?
Superman's disguise is a better disguise than even Batman's. Batman wears a mask, therefore he has something to hide. Superman, simply put, doesn't.
Human Psychology alone allows Clark's identity to remain a secret. Let alone his subconscious, passive, always-active, intrusive, telepathic persuasion.
Oh yeah, BTW - he has that power too.

I actually do agree with you on that. I have a funny story regarding seeing someone with/without glasses for the first time. I never wore glasses till my late 20s and also dressed to work in a casual way and wearing hair net as I was working in food processing company in stock control chill. After some time I got promoted to cost accountant and moved to front office which was distant from where I used to work so naturally didn't bump into people from my old department that often coz there were two separate buildings with their own entries and canteens. I started to wear shirt and tie, put a bit of gel on my hair (no more hair nets) plus after some time I had to put on glasses as my eye sight got worse. One day I passed one of my colleagues I used to see quite often in the chill, he looked at me but didn't say anything, I said "Hi", and then he stopped and replied and mentioned he didn't recognise me at first because of the glasses, hair and smart clothes. So I just smiled and said "and people say Superman's disguise is dump". So if you apply this real life situation to comic book world it makes perfect sense (and your other points are also good).

I also always thought the scene from Superman where he makes the Earth spin backwards was dumb, but I saw the movie just recently and I have a theory; he does not make the Earth go the other way, which would cause catastrophic consequences, but rather he goes so fast he himself goes back in time somehow, and, from his point of view, the Earth seems to spin the other way. That's why we don't see Superman kill the missiles again, or save Jimmy Olsen or the small town from being flooded, because by the time he is saving Lois, a past version of himself is actually doing those things too. Does that make sense?

One day, laundry day, all I had were some hand-me-downs which were all pink. after six months of all black, I showed up wearing all pink. I actually had teachers, teachers who had had me in their classes for SIX MONTHS, and I was actually pretty smart and attentive in class which made me stand out from my small-town dumbass peers, think that I was a NEW STUDENT.
This personal experience made Superman's glasses totally believable to me. If I can be mistaken for another person with a clothing color swap, then Superman can protect his identity with some nerd glasses.

In theoretical physics, when something travels faster than the speed of light, it moves backwards in time. So, superman didn't actually make the world turn backwards, it was just displayed as turning backwards to imply that superman was traveling backwards in time by defying the known laws of physics and traveling faster than the speed of light.

When it comes to the glasses, that's something I will always defend...in a way. It's not so much the glasses that are working to fool people so successfully as it's the way Superman acts when he is out of the ol' red and blue. When he is bespectacled as Clark Kent he is bumbling, awkward, timid, and overall the exact opposite of how Superman as a hero acts. He comes across as also lacking the confidence and charisma that Superman exudes.

Seeing the earth spin was just a representation of the amount of time he traveled through.

In the case of the glasses, there are multiple reasons for this:
    1. The least commonly known or referred to reason, his glasses are made of a special material that he emits a certain eyebeam through to distort people's vision of him, making him seem lanky.
    2. Considering how very in-super Clark Kent is, they think any similarity is coincidental.
    3. The most important: No one thinks Superman has a secret identity. They just think he's always Superman, so unlike other heroes, no one bothers to figure out who they are, the other half the time.
And spinning the world back around? I'm pretty sure that was an example of bad writing, but I think I can fix it:
He was able to tap into a power he never had, fueled by the pain of losing Lois.
And he didn't reverse time by spinning the Earth backwards. He travelled so fast, HE went back in time. He just ditched his original timeline and started over. Everything going backwards was to signify that.
And I'd say that one of Superman's powers could be immunity to time paradoxes.

If this video aired after Man of Steel, I wonder how many dumbass moments he would put on the list.
    Some of my guesses would be;
    1. The constant jumping of Clark Kent's history. One moment he's a baby heading to Earth, the next moment, he's a young adult on a boat, and then later transits to when he was a kid, and so on a so forth.
    2. The killing of Zod, and even though it bothered him, they never mentioned that killing someone was a problem for him, and the fact that it was totally forgotten in the next scene.
    3. People treat death as a minor nuisance
    4. Superman being a bit more bloodthirsty as even though he had the opportunity to restore his race, Superman's all like, "Krypton had it's chance".
    5. The obvious symbolism that Superman is Jesus.
    6. Destroying more of a town/city despite Superman trying to protect the very same town/city
    7. The obvious product placement of Denny's, Uhaul, and a few others.

Omnicidal Clown 1. It's a method of telling a story. You are allowed not to like it, it's not inherently wrong nor bad.
      2. How about you think what does it feel like to kill anyone for the first time. Not many people want or are able to go past that threshold, and even those who do don't take it as lightly as people might think.
      3. People who made peace with their lives don't shy away from dying. If you know there's nothing to do, or nowhere to go, and you pretty much die momentarily, why bother yourself with it?
      4. He was given a choice - possibly restore his own race, given as an ultimatum, or save the only world he knows, that would have to be destroyed in order to restore any form of Krypton.
      5. Overused and lazy, not inherently wrong.
      6. He's not the one instigating the battle nor the main reason for the destruction.
      7. Obvious as it may be, in the world we live in, is there any place where you can go where you wouldn't see any brand name? Granted, they were pushed a tad too much in the movie, but the reality is that brand names are all around us and forcing it out would show some other world that isn't the Earth of 21st century.

And yes, and Annette O’Toole can stay in as Lana Lang because she’s a good character. But cut out the evil Superman idea and save that for Superman IV

You know what's really bad about the memory kiss? This is actually Singer's fault but Superman left shortly after Superman 2 and was gone for five years. He comes back, Lois has a kid and its his kid, which would have been conceived when he took her to the Fortress of Solitude and stripped his powers to be with her. But thanks to the memory kiss, she doesn't remember any of that. She would have been utterly baffled about how she got pregnant. Well ok so maybe she gets together with that other guy she's with immediately after Superman leaves. The pregnancy would seem a bit premature but it might work and she might assume its his kid. But then that means Lois is over Superman immediately after he leaves and what we're shown in both Superman 2 and Superman Returns does not match up with that.
The kiss was put in there by Lester, the guy who took over Superman 2 mid production when Donner was fired. Donner had planned to reverse everything by having Superman wind back time again. But that doesn't quite work because he also wanted the freeing of Zod and gang to be a consequence of Superman winding back time in the first Superman movie after he was warned not to

I think the dumbest part about that number 10 entry, is that the way Superman catched that falling kid would have killed him instantly from whiplash effect and shock of the fall (and physics were always played around in all these Superman movies).
Even in that Spider Man story, The Night Gwen Stacy Died, a point was made about how one cannot simply stop someone from falling down mid fall, as it would still cause their death (which is what happened to Spider Man, he killed Gwen accidentally and in a momentary lapse in judgement).

Martha scene aside, why the fuck did Superman leave the Capitol building even though no one thought he was responsible for that bombing? There were TV crews everywhere capturing him saving people.
Also you could add Lex's plan to the list. What the hell was he trying to accomplish and why? Why did he need the government's permission to get kryptonite when he already had it to begin with? Why did he go through all the trouble of setting up all this shit with Batman, the crippled fuck, and Holly Hunter's character only for him to just make a giant Frankenstein monster at the end of the movie? Why didn't he just drop a big kryptonite bomb on Superman? He had enough money to plan and cover up an elaborate, convoluted conspiracy, so he should have enough money to cover up something as simple as bombing Superman!

For what it's worth, the intention of the filmmakers was that time on Earth was literally reversed. I don't know if you've seen, or are aware of, the Richard Donner cut of Superman II, but in that version of the film, Superman uses the time reversal trick to erase the events of most of the film (they originally thought up that plot device for Superman II, but decided to transplant it into the first film late on in development). And there's a scene after that where Perry and Lois are clearly experiencing a form of deja vu. For example, Lois feels like she's "sitting on the single most important story of [her] career", but can't remember what it is.
