Nepotism is not a race thing, it’s a wealth thing. People that are wealthy have the luxury of utilizing nepotism. LeBron James falls into the wealthy category.
Exactly. It's the same thing. LeBron has the juice to pull it off. I can't stand LeBron. I used to be a fanboy, but in the grand scheme of things this is a nothing burger.
@margincharge3657 I agree, but in the business world , you arent limited by roster spots or salary cap, so hiring your unqualified child doesn’t stop you from also employing the more deserving candidate. Comparing the employment of a professional athlete, in a playing role to a corporate position that has a fancy title, a huge salary and zero final decision making authority is a false equivalency.(just my opinion, and appreciate people may disagree)
@@jainmelbourne Most NBA teams use an 8 man rotation. During the regular season, some teams use an 11-man rotation, while others use a 9-man or 10-man rotation.
The problem is that nobody complained until "Black" people had the wealth to use nepotism!! It is most certainly about the ability for nepotism to no longer be a monopoly held by white people!! Nobody complained until it was a black person and everybody, in their soul that says that don't hate Bronny or that they have nothing against black people know this is exactly why this is such a big deal!! People hate LeBron because he has become an unapologetic-ally successful black man!! I Watched players like Udonis Haslem get tens of millions of dollars to sit the bench and never play!! MAKE HIM A COACH!! He's taking up a roster spot when he's basically an assistant coach!! Y'all worried about a draftee with a 40" vertical who actually plays defense and has the G.O.A.T. as a mentor getting less than 2 million a year?? Under the new CBA teams are forced to pay players more or be penalized!! The first day as a Laker they sold $30 Million dollars worth of Bronny James Jr. Jerseys!! Within 24 hours and you goofies worried about $7.9 Million?? Goofballs with R@cism oozing outta ya pores!!
@@brainsmasher6617you aren't wrong but this is the first time we have seen nepotism like this in the NBA. The kid clearly doesn't belong there yet got drafted and a 4 year guaranteed deal. It's not the end of the world but it hurts the integrity of the league
MJ owned a team and never even thought about giving his kids a contract 😂
That's because he wanted his kids to carve their own path and not set them up for failure in a league they had no business playing in. But MJ could have definitely got his kid drafted, wouldn't have been much worse than all of his other Charlotte draft picks who didn't do much in the NBA

So right
Remember how the Lakers wanted to treat the in-season tournament trophy like it was NBA Championship trophy.
They should have let other teams try out and sign Bronny. The fact that LeBron rigged the draft and made the Lakers do his bidding is what makes it so bad
I agree he didn’t have to do it rigged the Draft no one was gonna pick him.

@islander5858 I have a feeling this is all about setting up the Lakers for LeBron to become coach when he retires, which then means he can coach his son.
Nothing LeBron does is for the best of the team and only what's good for the "legacy".
@@patrioticdirtracer that's a stretch. I don't think lebron plans to coach the lakers or any team for that matter. What I see is possibly if bronny is able to keep his roster spot, they will draft Bryce James and lebron will play with his two kids. That's the end game I think
I don’t always agree with Doug, but this video was absolutely spot on. It’s ridiculous what Lebron has turned the Lakers into. It’s a freaking soap opera! lol He’s damn near turned the NBA and sports media into a freaking circus! lol At the end of the day, Doug eluded to this, sports is sports and sales jobs are sales jobs, there’s no room in sports for nepotism. There's a good chance JJ won't make it until the end of March. I see him resigning and returning to broadcast/podcast once he realizes he doesn't love coaching enough to deal with or fix the Lakers dysfunction.
Completely wrong. They will win enough to keep him around. Plus he's Bron's boy. He gets a longer leash.
Imho they are setting him up for maximum scrutiny. They at least should have had him work out for more teams etc. Players come to the lakers and be a shell of themselves and they aren’t even his son.
