So this can't be used as a bluetooth speaker, but has a jack. The Yogasleep Duet has no jack, but can be used as a bluetooth speaker. Can't decide... which of these two do you prefer? I am trying to block outside noise, both of these seem pretty loud. Nice videos btw, really detailed!
Hi! First of all, thanks for your positive feedback - it's always appreciated. Your question is kind of difficult to answer because I try to see products I review from the perspective of different people. But, to give you a straight answer to a straight question, I probably prefer the Duet. I can see why the Dreamcenter would be a better option for some people. Personally though, I value the brighter nightlight and the Bluetooth speaker functionality of the Duet more than the headphone jack and multicolored nightlight of the Dreamcenter. There are some other differences to consider, such as the 4 extra soundtracks of the Duet, but those two stand out for me as the main points at the moment. Compared to a lot of lower quality white noise machines I've tested, you can't really go wrong with either of them. They are both good.
Thanks, glad to hear it! Honestly, they both have good speaker quality for the price bracket of white noise machines. I don't think there's that much in it really, so I'd choose based on the features and soundscapes they have rather than trying to pinpoint which has the best speakers. One might sound better than the other in the video, but remember the sound is being recorded through my microphone on different days, and I edit the audio slightly too to remove background noise, so it's hard to compare them precisely.
I will, I still have the dreamegg, Lecteofan supposed to come today. I have tinnitus, I’m trying to drown out the high pitch sound.@@nosleeplessnights1
Hi there - thank you for all the reviews! I had been using the Marpac Dohm Classic for a year, and it just stopped working. As I'm looking at new machines - how would you rate this Dreamcenter vs. the Lectrofan Evo that would give me similar quality as the Dohm Classic? Thank you in advance!
Hi, you're welcome:-) I think it's hard to compare the two as they have quite different features. The Evo is louder overall, and has a better range of white noise and fan sounds. The Dreamcenter has a recording of the sound that most closely resembles the Marpac Dohm (now called Yogasleep as the company rebranded), and has more modern features like a nightlight and a range of nature sounds and music. Neither has an internal fan like the Dohm does though, so if you want to continue having a real fan sound instead of a recording or 'dynamically generated sound', then I'd look at the Yogasleep Dohm range. Otherwise, I think both the Evo and the Dreamcenter are decent white noise machines.
I don't think there is one that is especially good for a hotel. Maybe a small and portable one rather than a big one? And honestly, most of them are relatively small...
