Hey, Doc Snipes! Thanks for all your work. Your videos have made me more confident as I move toward licensure. 🙏
Did you originate the PIECES approach? Do you think this may be adopted as a formal therapeutic framework?

      Hi, Anthony!
I'm thrilled to hear that the content has been a source of confidence for you on your journey toward licensure. That's fantastic!
Regarding the PIECES approach, indeed I introduced it as a method to develop effective coping skills for managing overwhelming situations in daily life. The approach emphasizes recognizing personal vulnerabilities and adopting strategies across physical, interpersonal, and emotional aspects to mitigate stress and improve overall functioning
As for the adoption of PIECES as a formal therapeutic framework, it's important to note that the adoption of any therapeutic approach in formal settings often involves a combination of empirical evidence, clinical utility, and acceptance within the professional community. While PIECES offers a comprehensive way to address various aspects of a person's life, its formal adoption would depend on further validation and integration into the broader therapeutic discourse. My work, including the PIECES approach, is grounded in a cognitive behavioral, holistic, integrative, psychodynamic, trauma-informed perspective, which is heavily influenced by established research and practices.
The PIECES approach is part of my broader effort to provide practical tools and insights for mental health professionals and those seeking to improve their mental health. Whether PIECES becomes formally recognized or not, its value lies in its application and the benefits it provides to those who use it as part of their coping strategy toolkit.
