Wow! With weight savings like that the difference in responsiveness and performance, especially to an overweight, sluggish H2, must be phenomenal!! Looking forward to the video of you on the H2 using all the extra power you’ve gained?! The streets of Sussex are quaking in anticipation! I’m glad my mate recommended watching this, he said it was hilarious, Excellent video , I like a bit of accidental silliness !
I swapped out the standard battery for a Lithium on my RC390, certainly one of the best weight saving moves ever. Instantly noticeable on the handling as was the removal of the stock exhaust!
Love a good weight saving exercise although I reckon no more chocolates is the cheapest way lol. Silliness aside, most people seem to focus on the power first & forget about how beneficial weight saving is too. I was surprised about the battery, very interesting. Looking forward to the H2 mapping. Once you get it done can you also weigh the bike for power/weight comparison. Cheers.
Thanks for all the hard work and the big $ spent. First thing I did on my SPD3R was a lithium battery it's mounted just above the fuel tank! Next I need to go on a diet.👍🇦🇺🍺
The lithium battery is an easy one. I've done that already. Other than that, the cheapest option is to remove stuff. For a dual-purpose bike, which is mainly for off-road use, you can remove unnecessary lights and mirrors. Cost is zero. You can always put them back on. Where I live in Mongolia, the police turn a blind eye to dirt bikes so they can be stripped to the essentials. I'd probably only save about 5kg but that's about 4% of the bikes weight since it's light - I'm referring to a Yamaha WR250R (dual purpose, street legal). I'm already skinny so I can't save much there but my main concern is lifting it up after the inevitable drops.
Love your vids Chops, my No1 (well since Boris on Bikes has gone AWOL) but a lot people give Lithium batteries 🔋 a bad rep, charging and not starting if it’s too cold. What are your thoughts LCR?
Thanks Richard, Ive had two in the past, one on Beasty which was on their 3 years (without a single problem) And I also had one on the Super Duke for a year also without a single problem. I didnt even have a Lithium battery charger back then! Things they dont like is cold weather, so not ideal for a bike used throughout the Winter, also they dont like small current draw like alarms. So will need topping up if your bike has an alarm and sits for long periods unused.
Best cost effective weight saving for me would be stop eating so much stuff. Definitely could lose a few kgs there. Battery was a interesting one. How reliable are they and can you use many of the popular battery tenders to maintain them, particularly over the winter months? Does your insurance company know of all your performance mods? Would be interested in how much they have put your premium up? Some companies won't even quote after some major upgrades.
Yes I do have a special charger but did manage on the lithium I had on the Super Duke and Beasty for years without one. Just discount the battery if your going to be parking up over the Winter. Insurance does increase of course with the mods, I include all the mods I currently have with my premium when I took it out. Carbon Wheels made the biggest difference on the GSXR to the insurance!
@@LambChopRides After a little research I found this - Can my OptiMate be used with Lithium / Lithium-Iron / LiFePO4 Batteries? We only recommend OptiMate Lithium chargers for Lithium batteries. Great video Chops! I was just as surprised by the lightness of my Shorai lithium battery when I got it. I've also got a full titanium exhaust on my 2009 Fireblade Repsol. I guess carbon wheels are next! Oh, and those views of the camera mounted on the ratchet extension were awesome!
You dont need one, I have had 2 lithium batterys in the past and never had a charger for them and had zero issues with both. I do now however so will keep people posted on how it performs.
I fitted a Li-Po battery on my R6. Another cost to factor in was the cost of a new, Lithium battery compatible battery optimiser. Still a worthwhile weight saving but clearly the cost-per-gram was adversely affected. You'd need to add the cost of a torque wrench to the cost of the ti bolts too.
Nicely done, does the new battery take much looking after? To keep it fully changed. I remember in late 90s N Harga was told to lose weight and cut down on the cigarettes to boost his bikes performance😱 what a legend💪💪👍

Easier said than done for some folks, look at Danillo Petrucci in GP. That guy is a mere shadow of himself and he still goes on about needing to lose weight. MotoGP needs to implement a combined rider/bike minimum weight like Moto2 and Moto3 already do.
Everyone that's not a real gear head says lose weight , if your over weight then yes loose ten or twenty pounds otherwise cut bike weight . If your bike weighs 400 lbs and you weigh 180lbs and you get the bright idea to lose 150 pounds of body weight and your gonna be super fast on your bike cuz you only weigh 30 pounds well that's not gonna work to well cuz your bike still weighs 400 pounds! Find ways to drop 25 to 30 pounds off your bike and you will feel a difference.
Results do not surprise me at all, other than maybe that full CF is heavier than ABS plastic. Titanium bolts are a complete waste of money IMO. And considering the amount of magnesium/titanium (exhausts, mostly) that manufacturer's use in modern bikes, if it was worth it, they'd use them from the factory.
Thanks for posting. A big poop is not sustainable? Really? I figure that would be one thing you CAN depend on. Some folks have big poops at very well defined times of the day. :)
Depends on the quality Jack, the Shido is a quality bit of kit. Its also the exact same dimensions as the stocker and has the same terminals. Saves allot of agro with some others

Aside from fuel the rider is the heaviest thing to add to a bike, damn site cheaper to loose a couple of pounds yourself ( running is free) than it is to spend £200 on some bolts to save a few grams
There is Only one possible "best mod that removes weight". Remove the crap you don' need, like Passenger pegs and reflectors (if it's legal in your country). My 2019 MT-09 dropped at the very least 1.5kg and it cost me exactly nothing. on a 190kg bike, thats almost a percent free weight loss. (For MT-09 owners out there, check out "TwoWheelObsession"'s video on how to get a free replacement for the break fluid holder holder)
Ive added an Aliant Lithium Battery (700grams) to my 650 , instant difference , Stock exhast is Stupidly heavy too. You could get real anal & remove Bar Ends , Carbon Wheels etc Good shout out for Race Fastners , I need some bolts as mine are in need of a swap

Exactly Tim! As it happens yes I could loose a few lbs but not everyone can. 👍
Loved this 😁
aluminium sprocket is a cheap saver too
Results do not surprise me at all, other than maybe that full CF is heavier than ABS plastic.
Titanium bolts are a complete waste of money IMO. And considering the amount of magnesium/titanium (exhausts, mostly) that manufacturer's use in modern bikes, if it was worth it, they'd use them from the factory.
Good video again Lamb Chop
Thanks for posting. A big poop is not sustainable? Really? I figure that would be one thing you CAN depend on. Some folks have big poops at very well defined times of the day. :)
The battery was 126£?!!!? they're like 75-80£ everywhere I looked
Depends on the quality Jack, the Shido is a quality bit of kit. Its also the exact same dimensions as the stocker and has the same terminals. Saves allot of agro with some others
@@LambChopRides yeah, was talking about shido, got one myself
Not sure if it is really worth the effort and cost.
A thumbs up for the big poo! lol
Really enjoy your videos, keep up the good work. That h2 is sexy as fu#k 😍
This would make sense on a race bike but seems like pointless materialism on a road bike..
Just run alongside the bike to shave 200 lbs off the bike's weight.
Youve lost half a stone in body weight doing all the bolts !!!!!!. Dont forget to factor in the cost of the battery charger for the LI battery too.
Yes good point Roger, battery charger is advisable if your bike has an alarm.
Lamb Chop Rides I had to use my li trickle charger all the time in the cold (winter) also after a year or two my battery was toast couldn’t start after a week without the charger
would be pretty lean with that system
I think going on a diet is probably the cheapest not only that you saving money on the cost of food too 🤪
I remember when you first started this channel so mean years ago mate I watched every episode of the Honda build.im really happy your channel has grown so much all your hard work is paid off.iv just started my own UA-cam channel.good work mate 👍🏽
I know before watching it’s gotta be the battery
Thx a lot
Aside from fuel the rider is the heaviest thing to add to a bike, damn site cheaper to loose a couple of pounds yourself ( running is free) than it is to spend £200 on some bolts to save a few grams
Carbon fibre and titanium are expensive.
You need a diet/exercise plan from TMF
There is Only one possible "best mod that removes weight". Remove the crap you don' need, like Passenger pegs and reflectors (if it's legal in your country). My 2019 MT-09 dropped at the very least 1.5kg and it cost me exactly nothing. on a 190kg bike, thats almost a percent free weight loss. (For MT-09 owners out there, check out "TwoWheelObsession"'s video on how to get a free replacement for the break fluid holder holder)
Yes indeed I should have mentioned this but goes really without saying. 👍
Best weight saving is less cream buns.
Awe but I love cream bun! 🙁
Cheeky bawstard
Love Chops !!! That H2 is freakish pornography at its finest!!!
Lose body weight, aftermarket exhaust without catalytic converter, lithium battery, wear nothing but shorts and flip flops 😄
You forgot the Tasty Tail mod.
Oh yes so I did! 👍👍
Nr. 1 - the best cost effective is loose some weight 🤣🤣
How is having a poo every day not sustainable, regular as clockwork for weight loss
Slimfast chops 😂
Ive added an Aliant Lithium Battery (700grams) to my 650 , instant difference , Stock exhast is Stupidly heavy too.
You could get real anal & remove Bar Ends , Carbon Wheels etc
Good shout out for Race Fastners , I need some bolts as mine are in need of a swap
Alternatively eat less move more and lose some weight because let's be honest we could all really do with that.
