    Man in the 90’s no one I knew would ride a board wider than 7.75. Crazy how much skateboard setups have changed, but also stayed the same.

      @benitofranklyn4237 3 роки тому

      No, all 9.0 decks flip about the same. This is an ad by NHS, not an actual product review. Also 13.75 seems kinda short, if you want to comfortably cruise around.

    • @NHSSkateDirect

  • @oliverm.2051

    What size of wheels would you recommend on those wide boards ?
    Is there a video giving recommendation on how to choose the size of the wheels according to the type of skateboarding practiced ? I might have missed it.

    • @NHSSkateDirect
      @NHSSkateDirect  2 роки тому

      I think I was riding 54mm and they fit perfect. That sounds like a video I should make. I'll get on that. Hardness effects how a wheel rides the most. If you want to cruise and skate for long distances get soft wheels. Smaller wheels are better for tricks. Larger wheels last longer. I rode 54mm, 101a on that deck because I wanted to be able to slide, do tricks and mostly rode on smooth ground. If I were going to do tricks and cruise I'd go with 55 or 56mm with a 95a hardness. For just cruising/transportation on rough surfaces maybe 57 and above with 78a-87a hardness (softer, cruiser wheels)

    • @oliverm.2051
      @oliverm.2051 2 роки тому

      @@NHSSkateDirect I have bought 56 mm wheels 101a with a Jake Wooten 8.5 and it works well. Not sure it is a "boat shape" but with 14 inches wheel base it should have some dynamic.
      I am 49 and started skateboarding two months ago to be on "the dance floor" with my son. Pretty amazing discipline and easy to get hooked to it. I should have started forty years ago :-). For now I "Ollie" in my dreams but keep thinking I could make it happen. Thank you for the good content shared on this channel. I am looking forward to the video on how to choose wheels size and hardness presented by you.

    How come the flip deck is 8.13... What size trucks for that size deck

    • @NHSSkateDirect
      @NHSSkateDirect  3 роки тому

      Flip is a different skate brand. Not sure which of their decks might be similar.
      That size deck is a tricky one since it's right in between truck sizes. If you want your trucks a little smaller than the deck : 8.0. If you want a little bigger at 8.25.
      Both will work great and look like they fit.
      If you want to flip the deck easier go 8.0
      If you want more grinding area go 8.25.
      Or if you think you might get a bigger deck one day (like if you're growing) get 8.25.
