    These wheels are awesome! I have 54s and they are very light & snappy. They flip really fast. Super nice duro, loving the 95a! It’s kind of a dream wheel for me. I have pretty crusty ground to skate on and these feel great when riding around and doing tricks. These still feel more like a hard wheel compared to Ricta 92a or 86a Clouds, but handle the crust way better than a 99a duro of the same size (and similar contact patch). Stoked on these!! Hope they keep making them, would love to see a 55mm or 56mm!!

      @@NHSSkateDirect It ain't the weather per se. But that is maybe a part of it. It's the infrastructure. In the UK we don't pour concrete everywhere like you do in the USA. I'm not sure if the East Coast or colder parts of the U.S. are different and it's rougher surfaces to cope with harder weather, but we just don't have that abundance of smooth concrete everywhere like you do in states like California with a warm climate. Hell, we don't even have smooth or painted high curbs! You are blessed. I'd kill for a parking lot with a free standing painted curb. I'd be slap happy! 🤘🙂 🛹💥💨 ‼️ (pun intended)

    I bought this because I thought they would be great to ride to the skatepark as well as in the skatepark.
    turns out they are pretty decent of rough streets, getting around is definetely possible and much better than on regular hard wheels.
    they also do slide, but if you are less experienced, like I am you will probably want a harder wheel.
    they do slide, but are hard to slide consistently for a beginner like me. and for commuting, they are ok, but really not ideal.
    so in other words: I got myself some big ol' cruiser wheels (oj super juice) to ride around and spitfire f4 to skate in the park and I am much happier that way!
    not hating on the nomads, will keep them around for wooden ramps and such, but in my experience there really isnt a perfect hybrid wheel, that can do both very well.
    if there was, the nomads would be somewhat close, but I think you will always have to compromise, which is why I advise to have 2 sets of wheels or 2 setups entirely.

      @@swires1 you mean the mini logo hybrid 95A?
      for sure!
      honestly if you are looking for a wheel that can handle crust and skateparks alike: the powell dragon formula 93A or the bones X formula 97A are the closest we got so far to actual hybrids, that can do both reasonably well.
      I have the dragons and they ride better than the nomads on rough streets and they do slide alot better too, so I recommend them.
      for cruising and still being somewhat able to do tricks I suggest the 90A mini logo hybrids.
      dont expect too much slide from them, but with a little effort still works and they are really smooth.

    I have those wheels and they are amazing. I had them for almost 6 months now and all i can say is that they are great. On concrete they can be a bit grippy but they are so fast and on wood they are amazing not slide problem and i dont have to be rubbing them on the floor to get rid of dust. You can still slide on Ledges and coping if you put enaugh speed. For someone who skates a lot of indoor skateparks like i do they are perfect for. how would you compare them to ricta clouds 92a ? do you have any preference between the two, Ron ?

    • @PHeMoX
      @PHeMoX 3 роки тому +2

      The Ricta Clouds 92a don't _really_ slide at slower speeds (think: on a ledge in 5050) and IMHO aren't amazing for anything involving slides. They might do powerslides if you really go full force on them, but not remotely the same as riding a 99a wheel. They are a good hybrid wheel for sure though and can totally do tricks without feeling like sticky rubber that prevents you from doing much (think Bones ATF Mini Dv 80a 52mm; pretty much a filmer wheel only). But if you're not cruising around more than you do tricks, I'd perhaps give these new OJs a shot or maybe just go with a 99a wheel. I think the Ricta Chrome 99a are good for that. And the Nyjahs actually still slide around great. Almost like they're closer to 100a or 101a wheel. So might not be the perfect wheel for the roughest streets. Then again, a lot of people skate streets using 101a wheels and a shock absorbent riser pad. It's not like it can't be done, although admittedly hard wheels will slide like crazy on anything slightly wet. Applies to skateparks too. Nothing worse then slipping out through lack of grip.

    • @Nomad_Skateboarding
      @Nomad_Skateboarding 3 роки тому +2

      @@PHeMoX I'd respectfully disagree with your assessment of the Ricta Clouds not sliding.

    • @NHSSkateDirect
      @NHSSkateDirect  3 роки тому +3

      I like them both but for different reasons. I would say that the 92 clouds are going to be a little softer and stickier than the Nomads. The Clouds I'd run at a rougher spot that the Nomad but if I was going to slide, like on ledges, as PHeMoX said below, I'd go with the Nomads. I think you get a lot more slide with just a slightincrease in hardness w the Nomads.
      Also, the square edge shape of the Nomads vs. the roundness of Clouds is something to consider. Hope that helps.

    • @PHeMoX
      @PHeMoX 3 роки тому

      @@Nomad_Skateboarding To be fair, I did say _at slow speeds_ , I didn't say they don't slide at all. Also they are definitely stickier. It'll take force to get them into a powerslide. I absolutely agree there's a big difference between the 92A and the 99A 🙂
      To be clear! I'm not saying you're 'wrong'. Just that I disagreed. I've been skateboarding around the country for over a year and a half and the clouds are my go to. But! My perfect wheel would be just a tad harder, hence my trying these Nomads out (the name I'm not even going to call copyright on lol). I'n my skating around anyone who's tried my setup, or those that tried the clouds on my recommendation, haven't gone back. I skateboard 50+ miles in a day often, then go to the local park or spot and skate that. So again, just respectfully have a different thought 🙂

    I'm about to start back skating after 10 years but I'm 50lbs heavier since I started body building, I get my stuff from ccs Could u talk about what equipment works best the heavier u get like u would need faster or slower bearings, harder or softer wheels an bushings an so on?

    • @NHSSkateDirect
      @NHSSkateDirect  3 роки тому +4

      Back up to 200 myself. As far as bearings or wheels goes, weight shouldn't affect that part too much. Only in regards to just shaking off the rust and getting used to skating in a body that might be different than the one you skated in before. So softer wheels might help just because they are easier to get rolling on without worrying about getting stopped by a tiny pebble. A wider deck might help as far as strength and stability. Also, slightly harder cushions might help. That first step is always the hardest. Go easy so you can build up the the balance and comfort of skating again. Hope that helps some. Shred on!

      Great question. If you could only call them one or the other (cruiser or hard street/ park wheel) I would say the 92a feels like you'd call it a cruzer wheel and the Nomad I would call a street wheel. Both are right in the middle so a bit of both. I can't speak to the 95's you had before but might be worth trying someithing new. ! Oh yeah, if you get a Ricta Cored or Chrome Core Cloud it will feel a little harder than the same hardness Cloud without the core.

    • @NHSSkateDirect
      @NHSSkateDirect  3 роки тому +1

      The Rough Riders are 80a which is a bit softer and more like a cruiser wheel - best for transportation and really rough ground. The Nomads are closer to a regular, harder, skatepark wheel but with a bit of softness in case you encounter rough spots. Better for tricks and sliding.

    • @NHSSkateDirect
      @NHSSkateDirect  3 роки тому

      101a's are going to be quite a bit harder so they slide faster and skate fast on smooth ground. They won't roll as easily on rough ground as the Nomads.

  • @dynamicsinesdynamicsines1161
    @dynamicsinesdynamicsines1161 2 роки тому

    are they? are they really fast, fast like would i realise the differeance from a bones b84.?..

    • @NHSSkateDirect
      @NHSSkateDirect  2 роки тому

      I've never skated Bones b84's so I can't compare but from what I know of the durometer B scale vs A scale 84b would be much harder than these wheels at 95a. It looks like 84b are the hardest wheels Bones makes. These are quite a bit softer. So the Bones 84b's are likely faster on perfectly smooth ground but wouldn't ride well on rough ground. The Nomads are fast on almost any surfaces no matter how rough.

    • @numberthread2493
      @numberthread2493 3 роки тому

      @@by-romancing it does make a pretty big difference especially the fact that oj wheels and any other wheel brand distributed by nhs usually has a softer, stickier feeling when it comes to sliding. plus the scale isn't very accurate when it comes to skateboard wheels so they could actually be softer than the durometer states. I have skated reissue 97a slimeball wheel and they are very soft. I can only get them to slide if I ride in the rain which I don't often do. The ricta whirlwinds however are 99a and they feel softer than those. the ratings are all over the place and they are pretty much just putting them there to give the rider a good idea of how soft they are going to feel. it is also very easy to notice on smooth ground because generally all the wheels start sliding more than they did on the rough ground, but you can still tell how much different they are. good job, but you have failed XD
