Been a clicker since I started on WoW, when my son was underage, and I made an account for him to play on. He's now 30, and I'm still playing. Recently dipped the toes on keybinds, and have just ordered the Tartarus.
great vid Scottie. I swapped row2 keys with row3 keys on my tartarus. I find the bevel on the 3rd row keys makes it easier for me to find home position on the tartarus without looking. Also this means my 13 key, which is the only key with a raised notch on it like F and J on keyboard is centred nicely for my middle finger's home position. This makes it even easier again to find home position on the tartarus without looking. I also have Shift keybound to my mouse (G600 only does this) and Ctrl+Alt keybound to tartarus, meaning I can Ctrl+Shift and Alt+Shift keybinds. In conjunction with my Logitech G600 I have 39 buttons at my fingertips with 5 modifier functions each keyl. This equates to 200+ separate functions without touching the keyboard. And for anybody who's asking... I don't use all 200 functions, struggle to remember 50 or 60.
We have very similar keybinds lol. I convert my razor mouse buttons to F1-12 and then use alt shft modifiers for all of those as well. I have been duo boxing on classic and using 1-5 Q and E with alt shift mods for one account and then F 1-12 with alt shift mods for the other. It’s a lot of fun playing a warrior with a lvl 52 pocket healer lol.
Great channel mate - started classic during this second lockdown and rolled a druid. Your videos have been very helpful and entertaining - keep it up :)
Used one of these for original wrath and cata to great effect but I haven’t been able to get the shit back how I liked it. Wife has one she uses for drafting but haven’t used it for classic yet
I play with the exact same modifiers as you except popping the wheel on my mouse is shift and my buttons are alt and control. 1-10 are all bound 1-10 shift 1-10 alt 1-10 Ctrl 1-10. It sounds complicated. But it’s super super simple.
Do you still use dpad as wasd? I cant do it, the buttons under the dpad mold are short and clicky which is awesome ofr most things but for movement at least for me its nto a good option. I use the dpad as a load of my menus. I use hypershift on it to so i can map even more things to it as well.
Have you tried to set a standard for button layout for other games? You should have the option to do it automatically or manually if one wishes. It's amazing how boring, frustrating, and useless it is to configure what each key does per game or software (and you could even use it to work if you could only change those keycaps), that's why people stop using them. The Hori Tactical Assault Commander Pro did it, but the Razer gaming keyboard is more comfortable. I think the worst thing is wasting time programming and configuring everything for each game and software. If you make a "standard like controller" for the button layout, then you just have to copy and paste what the Xbox controller or PS controller does. For example, if the Razer 05 is X/A, then the Razer 04 is the circle/B and I don't know, maybe paint the symbol on the keycap with liquid paper, then it shouldn't be so bad to be able to use it regularly. I don't know when Razer will think more and make an Excel layout or better use standard Cherry MX keycaps just by making a inclined circuit board with a simple flex connector to maintain the inclined shape of the keys. In that way you could have A, B, X, Y and M1, M2 for macros. That please add real sticks like the ones on the Xbox/PS or do a 4-way arrows, 8-ways arrow interchangeable module or a "push button analog stick" like Thrustmaster ESWP Pro Controller did. I mean that Razer finally made analog buttons with the Razer Tartarus Pro (but they don't work well either because it doesn't recognize the height at which it is pressed well) it could even make the second function be with a little bump. I don't know why any company hasn't made it yet, no one has done a good job yet. Razer Tartarus has a good palm rest, but some prefer the Orbweaver palm rest, so you better stop making two types of products, just make one interchangeable. The same goes for the wheel that some love and some hate. Just a button above the arrows? Put two as start and select like controllers. Someone must do it more logically. The only reason why the gaming keypad or gamepad is useful is to reduce hand movements and to be faster by giving you the ability to use a real mouse to be more precise and faster. And if you want to keep the analog pedals that the controllers have for firing, maybe think of an analog click mouse. That's all it takes to create an awesome, useful, and necessary gaming keyboard or gaming controller (it doesn't even have a name of its own). If anyone reads this, please submit these ideas to Razer, Corsair, Logitech, Thrustmaster, or Hori.
I want to get this for my pc setup I’m building. I am returning to wow after being on xbox for a long time. And I never really got good at tab targeting anyway when I did play, it just didn’t work well for me so I’m thinking this will be easier for me especially since I prefer controllers.
Yea that works too, I had a nags for a while before I swapped it for a hex, then eventually switched to steel series I kept mis clicking on the naga with my thumb. I probably didn’t give it enough of a chance!
so do you unkeybind wasd for moving in wow and use them as spells? my issue with dpad and moving in wow is jumping while moving forward it is janky af on the tarturus, though i have only had it a week and am still getting used to it
Hey I have this keypad, and I dont know why but I'm having troubles finding out how to set the keystroke. When I play cod warzone I often just barley touch the shift key when aiming down site and it pulls it out which gets me killed alot. How do I make it so I have to completely press the shift key down before it actually works. Its just too sensitive right now.
So how do you know which button to press? If you want to activate the 12th button on bartender, do you press the 12th button on the tartarus? (assuming all the keybinds have been done ofc)
Its kinda funny, I started off clicking like a madman, with minimal keybinds, mostly because I had a good gaming mouse but a shite keyboard and no gamepad. Somehow I managed to keep up with the others in my guild for dps even doing the dumbass click shite. These days though its keybinds all the way.
hey guys i need a little help. just got the razer tartarus and when i keybind the joystick it dose not work at all. infact i cant get the joystick to do anything. do you have some tips for me :D
Hmmmm that’s weird. Never had an issue. When you’re in the razer synapse software can you bind the d pad to anything at all? Or it’s completely non responsive? I’m away for work tonight without the Tartarus but you could jump on my disc tomorrow (it’s in description ) and I can see if I can help you?
hi thanks for the quick response. so it shows that i have made the keybinds. but when i put them into wow and click them on the joystick they do not work. so im kinda lost:D
@@chrisbsteffensen silly question probably but do they match in game? So let’s say you set the bindings in razer as WASD to move, are they the in game bindings as well? Oh also is the right profile selected? You’ll see little lights on the Tartarus, 4 of them I believe, is it toggled to the same ones as what you are setting the bindings on?
@@Scottejaye they should ive made other keybinds on the keypad and they work just fine. thats why i find it strange. but im prob doing somthing wrong i just cant seem to find out what it is.
@@Scottejaye I watched your videos and went ahead and bought on of these. I am having issues with the D-pad though mate. I find the NE, SE, SW and NW make the controller knob stick/catch. Did you have the same thing, is this just some thing you have to work around?
Lol I use to from tbc and again in wotlk was top 3 dps in my guild in every fight 50% of the time I was 1st. People never believed me when I told them I was clicking

Sounds like an awesome set up mate! I don’t think until someone has used one of these they can really appreciate it.
Sorry if this is a stupid question... How do you jump when you're using the dpad to move and the 20 button (space) to jump?

Other keys are weird macro openers/quality of life things/trinkets. Tartarus rules

As a WoW player of 20 years, nostromo/tartarus since day one. These will WRECK your wrist because of carpal tunnel. Have surgery on monday to fix it.
Can you put in alphabet key from regular keyboard? 🤔

how the heck u reach those buttons.. dam when i am walking with the Dpad i cannot normally reach the rest. without cramping xD
it does actually take some time tbh for your hand to start getting used to it lol. My hand ached for weeks to begin with using it
I kinda do the same thing on my razr naga mouse. Clicking everything with my thumb. (With shift ctrl and alt)

Did you encounter the sticky keys issue, that other reviewers have, that causes you to move for example when you alreardy released the d-pad button ?
I found a "fix" for this. It's the Razer software. If you uninstall it, the ghost inputs go away.

What do you use for targeting? Do you keybind tab on the tartarus?
is using mouse keybinds or keyboard keybinds TOS or no
how does one strafe and weapon swop at the same time on the Tart v2?
I’m not sure what you mean, weapon swap on like CoD or something?

how can you bind the side mouse buttons to be shift modifier ?
It’s normally in the mouse software package, do you have a razer mouse?
