What he said is exactly true. Nothing in the wild dies from old age. Whitetail deer starve they don’t die from old age. There teeth wear out. It all gets consumed sometimes alive still. You showed great respect sir
I mean partly true. They get so old to were they can’t run from predators or they live long enough to where their teeth wear out. Age is definitely a factor to them dying tho.
Do you know what dying from old age means? It’s from body failing (like your example of teeth wearing down). You don’t just hit a age and magically die
@@thomaskent3584 animals definitely die from old age. Their teeth wear out is because they are so old and have worn out throughout the years. If they weren’t old, they would be fine.
Seriously, even as a hunter, I'm not a big fan of bowhunting and hunting giraffes, but the way you did and presented it, was super full of respect. You didn't cheer and make a festival of it. You kneeled down in calm with a mixture of proudness and respect. A tough shot that could have gone super bad, but here comes, what experience and a ton of practice means. Well done and Waidmannsheil vom Germany.
Your dedication to not just the hunt but the entire process-making sure nothing goes to waste and supporting local communities-is truly admirable. This isn't just a hunt; it's a profound contribution to conservation and ethical wildlife management. Hats off to you for sharing such a unique and thought-provoking experienc
Ehhhh…..nice shot, but let’s call it what it was - shooting, not hunting. They drove him up to the animal that was used to the car and he shot it. Rich white guy hunting.
Thats a dumb argument. A lot of hunting is done by driving around till you find prey. You gonna get mad at the guy who drove to the deer stand or duck blind?
Never felt such a mix of emotions of a hunt, can’t imagine the emotions being there and doing it. Excellent job educating and brining us along for an amazing harvest of a beautiful animal. You sir are doing amazing work for the bow hunting and hunting/ conservation world. keep it up
Congratulations! Also I like how you explain the thought process of why you hunt them and how it helps that area. A lot of people outside the hunting community don’t understand the importance of hunting them. You’re the man!
Occasionally I still have mixed opinions of Josh and Sarah but in the end I don’t know them personally, and ultimately it isn’t anyone’s place to judge. Truth is the content you two create is awesome and I enjoy it along with everyone else!
Josh and Sarah are two of the nicest and genuine people I have met in the Bowhunting space. I recently had the chance to shoot bows for a few hours with Josh, sarah, and David the engineer of the beast broadhead (prior to that I had only talked to him through Instagram) he treated me like a friend, answered any questions I had and was extremely humble. Heck he even let me shoot his bow. Take it for what it’s worth but Josh and Sarah are both awesome people in my book!
Met a guy a couple years ago during a tree job, after we got all his work done he invited us downstairs to check out his trophy room. I wasn't expecting much but about shit when I walked into a room with a giraffe, an elephant, lions, Buffalo. Every thing you can think of. And he killed every single one with a bow and arrow. He said his last hunt was over 10 years ago now. I'll never forget that room, what an opportunity.
That moment kind of showed the difference of personalities for me. Josh has put his heart and sole into that moment and wanted to rejoice... for the staff, just another day. I'm sure we didn't see it all but that was brutal. I don't think it was funny at all....
Your opening commentary is 100% spot on and spoken as a true hunter and sportsman. So well spoken my guy 💪 The world has gone super soft and many don't know and don't want to know where their food comes from. Human beings aren't the number 1 apex predators on the planet so we can eat grass and tofu. The earth needs our help to ensure the survival of all species. This was explained to me when I was around 4, and that's what inspired me to be the best hunter thati can be. Clean, quick, ethical harvesting is what makes us great!
Thanks for focusing a lot on the benefits that legal hunting brings. It isn't covered much in the common species but applies to all of them. Either habitat licenses, draw pool, harvest tags or guided hunts.
Imagine if the same practices were applied to human "conservation". Oh you don't want to get murdered today? SOL big brother knows what's best for the "greater good".
If we hunt them, others want to hunt them, so that creates a market, I mean value, so in order to keep hunting them we need to make sure people help insure they have a lot of land to live on and to reproduce so that others can hunt them in the future… I mean we could just make sure that they have land and go undisturbed, but then we couldn’t hunt them. Conservation. But really in the end it does help with over population of a specific animal in an area of land so that one population isn’t using up all the resources. But that’s just because humans have taken up a lot of their land. I guess it’s possible to support something even though you don’t agree with part of it. 9:40 - kinda hard to justify, because by that reasoning you’re taking away food from predators. But it is good to see nothing goes to waste and that a lot of it goes to the locals. I would definitely love to see what it taste like.
Congratulations man! Super inspiring what you’re doing. Conservation of wildlife is a huge deal. Needless to say the community there I’m sure is very appreciative of you and so is that animal I’m sure. Nothing dies of old age in the wild. Nice shot. Cheers
