I was running out of space on my walls to put wood and I had a big project coming up that required a lot of wood. It was time to build a lumber rack...
Hue Soo Awesome! It absolutely helps a ton with storage. I’m sure I will figure something else out in the future that is more efficient, but this works great for me right now.
It's a rack, with free learning experiences built in! Be kinder on yourself, man. :-) I'm researching ideas for a rack of my own, so it's good to see potential pitfalls. Thanks!
Nice build. Would recommend sheathing vs plywood for the simple fact of cost. Vertical vs horizontal is something that should be considered with this type of build. I have a lot of room vertically which implies my build would be vertical vs laying wood horizontally.
Bro, Im building a similar rack for my enclosed trailer, just for storage. Great idea, dont worry about the finish of material, it does the job. thanks 79 likes now
Functionality is the important thing here not beauty. Simple design yet does the job quite well. Scrap or free lumber used for such things is smart. Thanks for posting your design. Maybe I'm missing something but I see no issues with your A frame design
The important question is... Does it work? If it's a throw together project then that's what it is. Why go through a pile of work just to make a wood rack look nice? It's a wood rack. But you are giving me great ideas for my own. I want the rack my father build separate from the building itself. There isn't the opportunity to move it all out of the way when I want to do things in that space.
I feel your pain on the A-frame alignment. Maybe using a plywood gussets instead of the little pieces of 2x4 might have made it easier to align. They would have been small enough to offcuts from your burn bin.
+Rod Stephens I didn't even think about that, Rod. Good call. Also, the plywood wouldn't be as bulky as the 2x4s AND I wouldn't have needed as long of bolts/screws (to save money). I truly appreciate the feedback!
Nice quick and easy build. Just what I needed to see. Perfect for the shop.👍🏼
Good, strong, practical design. Like How the structure is mostly 2x4 instead of expensive 3/4" plywood. Nice!
+CurseTheDarkness Thanks, I appreciate the feedback!
I'm definately building this, thank you so much
almost exactly what i was looking to do. have a huge mess and need some room in the garage. thanks for posting!

Desgin is great and looks very functional. This is a shop utility pieces. Making it do the job intended is what is important.
Thanks for the positivity!
I like this one.

I think your lumber rack came out just fine. it's just a lumber rack not dining room furniture.
Thanks Roger!
Good job

Do you have a blueprint
Demaciada estrutura para poner 4 palos y encima no tiene ruedas con toda esa madera hago dos y me sobra
