Thanks afg! It’s a fun hobby and we all learn off each other. I would really recommend not doing the portal delete…, it really over drives the truck. I’ve done 2 now…, and do not plan to do it again. Even with a super slow brushless system.., it’s still too fast. Looses all its torque…, or most. Looks great but doesn’t crawl well. It would work for a simple trail truck but you loose so much slow crawl potential.

Great video Putter, I think most manufacturers just do the portals because of the capabilities mainly, truthful we have several Jeeps 8n the local here that run some portals. Wv terrain is pretty hard-core, I have to drive to our local Park just have a decent place to drive my scale Rc4wd stuff. Its all hill climbs and rocks here nothing level practical at all in Wv, I like the look of the portal removal on the Bronco for that scale stock Bronco look. Here in Wv you never see anything stock in a 4X4 everything is lifted with huge tires lol! Thanks again for this video and the info Rc Brother

@@RcDungeon That’s crazy…, ours are a bit cold (once lake freezes over) with really high humidity; which makes it feel a lot colder. Nothing crazy for snow accumulation.., usually.

What's your verdict on the Trailmaster 45T with the 9 tooth pinion? Do you have an idea how it might compare to the Hobbywing Fusion SE 1200 or 1800 with the same small pinion?
Hey brother.., not too sure! I’ve been thinking of trying one of those out. Unfortunately they didn’t have the 1200 in stock at my lhs. The 1800 I would think is too quick, as the 45T is too quick for any challenging/ technical crawling.
@@MudderPutter I did a little more research and found out that the 1200kv is about equal to the stock 21 turn Titan. I went ahead and ordered the 1800kv and a 9T pinion to put in along with the portal delete. 2nd gear is about as fast as I'd ever need my TRX-4 to go. Of course with the portal deletes and 1800kv it's going to be faster, but it's still a sensored motor with FOC so I think it should be alright. I'll definitely come back here and let you know my thoughts. I asked on Facebook and several people were telling me to just get the 2300kv Fusion Pro. I pushed back on that heavily and they didn't seem to understand why.

Hey Bonald The bumpers that come with the hardbody bronco can be mounted to the body and the original bumper mount (make sure not to break off the mounts on the body when painting). Cheers
I don't care for Portal axles because they don't exist on trucks like that Bronco. I like open/optional locking differential, etc. Also would like to see it running with the diffs open and the suspension action in a video too !

I just put the portal delete on my TRX4 2021 Bronco last night, and even with the 9t pinion it's still INSANELY fast... how much did that TrailMaster 45t slow it back down? Also, how is the torque now? (BTW, that bronco is AMAZING!)
Thanks so much Evan! Ya.., she’s so quick! It really isn’t slow enough with the 45 either…, maybe a better esc (like the 1080)would give it better throttle response (to quick of a start up as it is). I haven’t gotten to adding the hardbody so I haven’t gotten any further in figuring a better gearing. My next plan is to either use an 80t motor (with 1080)or try the new Hobbywing fusion se (the lowest kv). I’ve just picked up a used Hobbywing axe in a trade; maybe I’ll try that quickly. It’s a 2100kv, which is a little fast but maybe the foc will give it a slow enough start up. Cheers Lance
@Mudder Putter I ended up getting an RC4WD 65t 540 for the time being... the speed is pretty ok (actually a tad too slow now with a 9t pinion) but the torque is definitely less than the 21t Titan that came in it. I was a little disappointed until i remembered that i had the punch setting on default (im using a HW1080 G2 right now) and turning the punch to setting 9 definitely helped, although it still feels kinda weak. Long term I'm going to go with the Hobbywing Fusion Pro and hope that the FOC makes the low end manageable, same as you.

These are pretty small.., rc4wd 1.9 hawk eyes (3.8”), and 1.9 amazing 5 lug beadlocks. Looks scale since the portal delete lowers the truck so much . Also went to smaller shocks… etc Cheers

This is excellent. I love your scale workshop.and portal delete is way closer to realworld trucks. I mean dont get me wrong, i fully understand the concept of the portals that Traxxas spec'd but portal delete is so much more realistic. Love your work mudder putter 👍👌🖕

Unfortunately I don’t really recommend the straight axle kit.., so hard to get the gearing low enough. Decent as a trail truck but barely.

@@MudderPutter Thanks! I just got some 3.8s in the mail and was thinking they were a bit small but after looking at pictures of an original Bronco, I realized how small the factory wheels and tires actually were on the real thing.

@@MudderPutter I’m planning on getting the same portal delete kit on my bronco. I’m wondering if a 65t RC4WD brushed motor would do alright. I love brushless but I don’t really need or want top of the line electronics on my bronco. I run pretty much the same type of trails as you do
@@LonerTrails Ya., I would think that’d be really good. Think I’ve tried a 55 and it wasn’t quite slow enough. Between that and I was wondering about their 80t. Hopefully get back to that build soon👌

What size wheels and tires?
These are pretty small.., rc4wd 1.9 hawk eyes (3.8”), and 1.9 amazing 5 lug beadlocks.
Looks scale since the portal delete lowers the truck so much . Also went to smaller shocks… etc
