True. Conmebol should be punishing itself for terrible event management & security.

Sorry, but Nunez and Suarez started the provocations and Nunez was the first throwing punches at Fans. That´s not the behavior for a professional footballer.
Sequence of events … indeed . Brawl starts right after the final whistle . How does that relate to families being threatened ?
Any Real Man would protect their family. Justified!
His partner and child were on the pitch when he went in. How was having a running battle with fans helping his or anyone's family and how was trying to throw a metal chair into the crowd have anything to do with protecting his family. Real men control their anger.
He was throwing punches on people randomly with his family 100s of feet away.

Nunez should be given an award!!! Great stuff!!!
Passion keeps getting misused for stupidity. It’s a deflection using that word.
If you go back to every loss that Uruguay has had in World Cups and Copa Americas they have scuffles and bites at the end.
I hate to watch Uruguay play soccer. They think it is the 30s. The sad part is they have skills but refuse to play the beautiful game in any attractive way.
In this context, the idea that players shouldn’t have gone into the stands is bullshit.
If there were authorities in the stands managing it, that’s a different story. What if one of the fans had a weapon? There were no police there for ages.
The precedent set and any consequences should be burdened on the organisers of the stadium and not the players.
The players are there to play not manage the crowd. In the absence of anyone in uniform managing the crowd and their own families were in the cross fire, I think the players reacted reasonably and proportionally
stupid reasoning, players are there to GIVE EXAMPLE, they represent their team and others when behaving and this was a mistake, and also if i was him, i do NOT incite more violence, i take care of my family 1st and leave with them, not go up to the stands and make it worse.

You people from Europe should know that this behavior from Uruguay national team is a classic, you can find the videos of Copa América 2015 where they also were defeated on quarterfinals, they punch everyone, 4 different players even hit the referees and received no sanction at all. CONMEBOL is the one to blame for this behavior since never put a stop to the AUF for this kind of behavior repeating since decades.

It’s hard to defend Nuñez’s actions because the video footage we’ve seen, doesn’t show him trying to protect his family, only him throwing punches. Now if he’d gone in there and got his family out of that situation he wouldn’t be facing a ban.
There isn't a single video backing up the Uruguayan claims that the Colombian fans were attacking their families in the stand, ZERO, NONE, ZILCH, NADA! there are however, hundreds of videos showing the Uruguayan players looking for a fight, as a result 11 URUGUAYAN players are being investigate, almost the whole freaking team might be sanctioned. There is no professionalism and strict adherence to the spirit of football as fully expected of the Uruguay football team and Nunez. His actions are not only unacceptable but extremely dangerous, bordering on a serious criminal act, punishable by a prison term. It doesn't matter if someone was hit and seriously injured. The animalistic intent to harm a fan was there. FIFA should ban Nunez for a year. Despicable action!!
Any player who threw punches at fans should be banned from entering the country for 2026.
If you can't defend your own family members from being attacked, then what's the point.

The whole theme of families’ lives being in danger… there is zero evidence this happened. Plenty of evidence of Uruguay’s directives throwing things to the crowd from their private balcony. It seems irresponsible to poke the crowd and then scream victim. How about throwing glass bottles from the field to the stands? A Uruguay player threw one and hit a Uruguay tech in the head ( can’t make this stuff up!). And Núñez trying to throw a chair to the stands, not defending anyone then. If fans are attacked do they have a right to defend themselves as well?. So maybe the whole story should be verified before the fans are solely to blame.
If it wasn't for that security guard, the chair would have hit the people in the crowd and there were women, children and there was even a Liverpool fan .
He need to calm himself down I understand he was doing it for his family , but when he threw the chair his wife was seen watching him on the field with her son , so clearly he just did that in anger.

They should apologize to him and the family for the lack of security. In a US stadium with enough VIP seating...
why? they started the problem
@@omarmorales5170 no
I think you're partially correct. I live in the US. I've been to games, and security isn't as tight as you see elsewhere because they view sporting events here as a "family" event. They don't expect it to be a "war," like Frank said, about a football match. In American sports stadiums, home and visiting fans sitting next to each other is normal. That's because usually, more often than not, the American fan treats a match as a family outing. You could call it being more passionate or more serious about your team, but football fans sometimes do treat it, like Frank said, like a "war," and that means that you're gonna get into heated situations with opposing fans. That fact and the fact that stadiums in America don't have a separate section for away fans or separate opposing fans could end up being dangerous. I do agree about the VIP seating. We have suites in these big stadiums. They should have one reserve for the family of each team. But like Ale and Herc pointed out on another video, CONMEBOL, the organizers, won't do that because they're looking to sell that suite to a millionaire that will pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to have that suite. The players and their families will always come last after money and gains, unfortunately.
The stands they jumped into are $3000 a seat. They are basically vip seats. They go thru special entrances to get to those seats. It's not the general audience.
All I saw was the players jumping into the stands 😂 maybe their family shouldn’t talk smack when their in a hostile crowd in my opinion. They’re not the saints the media is portraying them to be. Im sure there was barking from both sides .
