  • In this video we look closer into what we got ourselves into and dive right in tackling the frame removal! We love our B19 trailer, it has the awesome 80's vibe and deserves some TLC! We fell in love with seeing the B17 model for the first time in Yosemite National Park a couple years ago for its unique looking design and that was our first introduction to the Bigfoot travel trailers. After years of research we finally came across the more elusive B19 model that has additional storage space, closet, & tandem axle to name a few.
Little background story, we bought the camper on eBay a while back from a seller who saved it from an estate sale in Oregon. The camper was buried in a dirt carport that was being swallowed by thorny vines back into the earth. It was sitting there for about 15 years and you can tell because there was thorny vines growing between the frame and the fiberglass shell and they were thick like branches! When he pulled it out it had green algae but he power washed it so that it looked somewhat decent. Nevertheless, it was still filthy from the outside and dirty from the inside but everything was there all intact and original like the brochure, which we intent to keep. Its amazing to see one in person because when you walk in it feels bigger, super efficient in design, and cozy! Do you have Bigfoot and/or love to see more content like this?

We purchased a 1987 B19 a year ago and we are gradually restoring as we discover the issues with every trip. Replaced the door, fridge, water heater. Need an air conditioner, propane lines and new tires next. I also noticed that the shower pan is not draining. your videos are a huge help, Cant wait until you start on the inside? I like the way it pulls.

@@b19sleeper9 Thank you for the reply and new episode. Looks great! I see you added a new air conditioner. My B19 has no air conditioner but I believe did have one at one time as it appears to be wired for one? Which brand did you purchase or would recommend? Trust this is not your post? Thanks again and Happy Holidays!

Nice find! Considering the price of new RV's today, this is an attractive alternative. This is just what I'm looking for, 20 foot- tandem axle and fiberglass body. All that laminate inside brought back memories of my childhood, we camped a lot in a slide in truck camper. Looking forward to tour progress, good luck.

Its a really nice find, like a time capsule with all the original furnishings! If you can get a hold of one a decent price I would go for it, but its definitely a project to consider. I love the fiberglass shell too so awesome to work with and it can be repaired if needed!

On the trailer hitch and frame that was bent by backing. This was backed by someone who didn't know how to back a trailer. NEST: You need to spray all these fittings, nuts and bolts with WD 40 and let stand and then spray again. Often some neat will help but be careful not to burn the trailer.
Where the polite is located, take some space from the closet and make your bathroom a wet bath and add a shower.
The switch by the sink might turn on the pump so you have water at the sink. Wish I were there to assist you. Any questions, feel free to ask. Just post a comment and I will see the notification.

Could be but there is no damage to the thin gauge bumper. Awesome thing about this camper is that it already has a full wet bath and toilet! Check out episode 02, episode 03 show the wet bath, comes out Dec 24! Thanks for tuning in!
