- In this episode we start with the most important part of this project, the frame! For one it's heavily rusted, has a bent front tongue and in need of a some restoration work. We love our B19 trailer, it has the awesome 80's vibe and we wanted to make sure the foundation is good to go!

Was thinking the EXACT same thing!
The frame is damaged due to overloading and poor maintenance. Placing heavy gear in the front and exceeding the load weight. Adding new steel and extra gussets will help.

ME TOO! LOOKING FORWARD TO THE RESTORE #3. GLAD YOUR ARE LABELING THEM IN ORDER. THE PAINT PEALING ON FIBERGLASS MAY BE A SIGN OF A PATCH OR JUST PAINT???
Next time for those rust’d or seized nuts ‘n bolts. Use ATF on them. It’s better than any wd-40 or pb blaster.
I like to mix at 50/50 with acetone makes it creep in a little better. Doesn't store well because the acetone evaporates

You can also freckle with a welder
It's called knurled, punch raises metal when punches a dent. Not recommend, usually does not last long.

I commend you and your father's skills and talents. There is a lot of patience and determination in this process, traits I lack I this application. I have a question regarding the in depth work on the axles. Would you, or did you consider disk brakes, having gone as far as you did restoring the hubs etc? In the end here, the frame turned out really great. Congratulations to a job well done.
Hey John thanks for the kind words. My dad has years of experience has a heavy transport driver dealing with big rigs and trailers and this was his suggestion in getting some more life out of the axles since the spindle that the bearings ride on were worn. Eventually, in the future we might need new axles to be made custom. Since they were not a typical off the self order, this is what also drove the decision to get them back in service.
