I am from Vienna Austria. I am so proud to be Viennese. We love Christoph Waltz. He is a living legend. He is a Viennese gift to the world. After all, Vienna is the Capital city of Music and the City of Dreams. Christopher Waltz is a musical dream. so he is very much Viennese not German. Indeed
@DGS first of all if Austria is too small to be it’s own country than many countries need a “Anschluss” (such as Switzerland). Secondly it’s not Austria’s fault that Hitler was born here (I mean he could have been born anywhere why does it matter ?).In Austria Hitler was a failed artist Germany made him their “Führer”and even tho Austria later joined Germany I still don’t think that you can blame only Us for him. But fact is those were different times and neither Austria nor Germany acted rationally. So please stop crying and just accept that we Austrians are proud to be our own country, that we have our own culture and that we are not German!
There are a lot of German speaking actors that are really great but do not receive the recognition they really deserve. Just look at Daniel Brühl. His performance of Niki Lauda in Rush was more than amazing and IMO deserved at least a nomination for best (supporting) actor. While he appeared in plenty other Hollywood films like Inglorious Bastards, The first Avenger: Civil War, The King's Man: The Beginning or The Bourne Ultimatum just to name a few, he more or less only had tiny roles. Matthias Schweighöfer who appeared more recently in American Late-Night shows for his performance in Oppenheimer he is more known for several appearances in RomCom's in the German movie productions. Even Till Schweiger, who more recently appeared in press again for treating his peers and production team badly on set to a movie he was shooting and playing in, appeared in some Hollywood movies like Inglorious Bastards, Lara Croft, Happy New Year or King Arthur but even though he tried hard to appear in more American movies his appearances always seemed to be a bit forced and therefore rather stiff.
What i find most amazing from Herr Waltz is his speech. He is a very great speaker in all his movies, especially the Tarantino films. Obviously it's scripts but i dont think anyone else would of dokne it like he did. Love him...
I LOVED Christof Waltz in Django Unchained and I hated him in Inglorious Basterds -- THAT is how excellent an actor he is. I would like to see him in more good-guy roles.
I saw him playing in one episode of 'Kommissar Rex', people from europe maybe know this tel. show. Back than he was not famous but also incredible at playing creepy characters.
he's the reason why im learning 2 different languages. I would love to know 4. Im learning German and Spanish. and after I get those down I would love to learn French or Italian. I want people to be in aw when they hear me speak like we all were of Hans Landa
Thank you very much for this video. Although Christoph is Austrian we here in Germany love him as a guy of us and are very proud of him. :-) He is a great actor indeed, and I admired him for years in many different tv series, on stage and also on the silver screen. Good guy/bad guy - doesn't matter. He was always able to play complex characters. There is only one thing that puzzles me: During his studies in Lee Strasberg's studio he tried to get a foothold in the USA as an actor - and his agent told him he had to be prepared he would be casted for nazi characters mainly. But Christoph didn't want to play nazis, so he decided to leave the US. - Well, and decades later he got international famous and won an Oscar for playing a nazi.....
I am somehow afraid of him, because of his bad guy roles. He can change his face expression so quickly that I can never be sure if the one face expression he is having at the moment is the real one. He is scary, I would be glad if something could change my opinion.
Christoph can play ANY CHARACTER. Although he was beyond impeccable as SS Hans Landa, I hope that he will not let himself be typecast. He's too talented to narrow his scope of practice in the arts. I LOVE HIM ❤️😍
I love to hate his bad guy characters. Christoph should definitely stick to his role as villain. An antagonist's role is harder than that of the protagonist. Great pictures by the way.
The only thing I can say is that this man is classy. He acts both good and bad guy roles well but I like him as the bad guy. He brings class to the role as well.
He should keep playing a villain. He is soooo good at it. Maybe something similar to Inglourious Basterds. Out of all his villain roles that one would be my favorite.
@@justicartiberius8782 he grew up beeing austrian in vienna, he just has the german pass because of an old law. There are even 37, last winning was even not waltz , but haneke in 2013.

@Alux.com insists that Waltz is German though he self-identifies as an Austrian and has Austrian citizenship as of 2010. According to Wikipedia, Luise Reiner was promoted as an Austrian when she won, but later correctly labeled as a German. Not sure if she came out of the closet before or after winning her second Oscar.

Fact #2 needs to be corrected. Waltz is one of three German actors who won the Oscar. Christoph Waltz, Luise Rainer, and the other is Emil Jannings.
