You signed on the dotted line and went on to be a SEAL and wounded in combat. Shake it off when the chest thumpers play the “one up” game with you. There will always be someone that has more jumps, more deployments, can run farther, do more push ups or carry more weight. They are the ones with the problem, not you. You rock!

It's funny when he talks about there being no pain after he was hit by the gernade. I ride the bike a lot, and I was hit head on by a car, and that's one thing I remember; it didn't hurt. It didn't hurt till a few moments later, I don't know how long it was, but when I started to move, that's when it hurt. Still hurts, to be real.

I almost lost my right leg to “degloving”… Imagine a woman removing pantyhose but it’s your skin and muscle, down to the bone, from above the knee and it’s all hanging off your ankle. I didn’t feel it at all. Actually tried to stand up, looked down and remember saying: “oh shit”… Sat back down and just kept telling myself- I have to move. It did eventually become a burning sensation which escalated to an extreme burning sensation and I remember thinking it was the sun.. Asked the medic to get me into the shade. Didn’t help much but docs saved my leg. Luckily the bone didn’t break because then I wouldnt have my leg

When the paramedics started getting me more conscious again, that's when I felt the pain from my shoulder being shattered.

Unrelated to combat, but I felt the exact same way when I got into a motorcycle accident a few years ago. As soon as I realized that i was gonna hit an oncoming car, my brain somehow accepted that it was the end of my life. I remember thinking "I guess this is it" in an almost sarcastic way. there was no fear, felt very rational. Thankfully i only hit the front side of the car and made it without any serious injuries. Mr. Ballen (what a Patriot!!)
    1) A Patriot tells the truth
    2) in a way that helps all others
    3) transcends all classes of people
    4) hence = A Patriot !
    5) thank you so much for sharing part of your life (worth the $$ of admission (your time, spend it listen, and derive some wisdom about life) as life is short.

Im a ballen fan. Have been since the beginning of his strange, dark, and mysterious days. And its sad and pathetic how some in the military have treated him. Its shenanigans like this that makes some not want to join. And now on top of it those who have politicized it and made it seem like some arent wanted.

7years, 7 days... Its more military service than ive ever considered. The fact that you went to war no matter whos war, is admirable in its own right.
Also live a country where the army isn't usually considered "a good job".

My son-in law, went through so many deployments, he is still a better person than me and stronger than me with a softest heart. Despite PTSD, CANCER AND PHYSICAL debilitating, he has clear conscience what is right and wrong. if you want to disregard what these young people give and sacrifice do not just do not say anything. My daughters are there to engage in keeping the USA AND THE OTHERS from……..😓
