You should do it as a side gig . To do it for people who like to remove their glass windows .. buying cargo vans even used are expensive..but i find tons of passenger vans very reasonable priced but they have the windows 😕 .. your idea was done very professionally ...my option ... And I'm sure you would have lots of customers...well thanks for your video ...
Do they chatter in the wind? I'm thinking about doing something similar but making it a bump out kind of like what you see on some of the sprinter vans. I wanted to make something that housed some fans with vents along the bottom lip/edge. And then also put some of my solar inverters and stuff in there so that it can have its own venting also
There are actually. I am planning to do this with my van. And have looked up on Amazon. I think the closest I could get to a good size was 12 tall x 24/36/42 long with sliders and screens. About the size you would see in a truck cap.

Nice post. Another option would be to use body panel glue, and screw down let glue set and grind off screw heads and paint

👍you just saved me a boat load of money!!!
Beautiful Job Sir
think you could use self tapping screws with some silicon vs self tapping??
Pro tip is to make a small bead of silicone on outside even though you used thick bead inside just double water proofing
Exactly what I need for my motovan thanks for the vid!
Did you end up doing it ?? Just shattered a window today with my bike 🤦♂️
Not yet but am going to be soon and will
Make a video on it
This is exactly what I needed. Thank you!
Nice work! I'm curious how sturdy the panel is once installed. Does it flex in and out or make any road noise?
It worked great. Solid and as good as the rest of the van's sides.
Wow!!! Thanks for sharing
Good job. Did you put plywood from inside to make thicker wall?
No but that would be a good next step
I was thinking of doing this then cut it for a sliding window. Are there any aftermarket sliders that will fit in the stock cutout?
I am not sure about that one

Hey, how do you prevent the metal sheet from rusting ? Thanks
What size sheet metal did you originally start out with?
What's the cost for this modification? I'm getting a 15 passenger van and want to do the same modification.
It cost about $150 total
What gauge of steel did you use?
He said on video its 18 guage steel. If you get it too thin it will flex in the wind when driving.
@@um8440 Not if you use adhesive and stick a rib on the inside.😎
if that angle grinder bites and jumps hope youre wearing a cup😬
