The thing I enjoy most about your reactions is your focus on the composition! Tuomas is simply the greatest composer of my lifetime, and your breakdowns explain why. That's why I check out everything you do on Nightwish, and why I'm subscribed, because I always learn something I don't get anywhere else! Keep it up, my friend! Teacher might be too mild a term for you!!

Great job , Floor is the perfect fit for Nightwish . Tuomas gave everyone the new album to review with recordings to start in summer of 2023 and release in early 2024 with world tour . I heard that its going to simply amazing .

I watch your "reactions" much more for the musical analysis then you're emotional reaction anyhow, so I appreciate this and all your videos. Glad you released it! Some folks might give you a hard time about it; just ignore them. You're musical knowledge and explanation of the chords and key changes, and musical elements are what adds to my enjoyment and more so "understanding" of the music.

I do remember a comment from somebody who was there, from Spain or Portugal i think, who told his wife at the third song that this concert is going to be a historical event. So yes, the public starts to realize it, as you can also see from the clapping. Welcome back btw :)

I love your commentary on key changes and song compositions. This was where Marko actually introduced Floor to the crowd and the entire world. Just before the song started. Always fun and informative. Also very unique among the other reactors. Well done.

You're amazing! Thank you so much for your support as always. I actually originally had the beginning where Marko introduced Floor (and watched it) but had to cut it out as the copyright content ID was picking it up as "I wish I had an Angel" - obviously an extension on the last song. So yeh, I did comment on it but unfortunately didn't keep it on

Another great analysis MTR. You really should give up sleeping and do more of these.
When you stop to think about it, this was on the Wishmaster album in 2000 and Tuomas already showed his genius. The song is still in today's setlists 22 years later having been played on every tour since! Incredible!
275 plays on tour over that time is not, obviously, as frequent as GLS but its tribute to the song nevertheless.
    Thanks for this.

I've been a fan since 1998, so having heard of Floor from After Forever a few years later I seriously got goosebumps simply from hearing that she was filling out the tour in place of Anette... before ever hearing how she sounded *with* them. I've since seen them 3 times here in the US. I can't explain how amazing a show it is, but knowing all their old material before her arrival... it's just astounding how increcibly well she suits every single piece of music.
On this show it seemed that Ghost Love Score is when she totally sealed the deal, and I think you know the note I'm talking about. People seemed to all experience in unison, at that point, "Floor's the one. She's absolutely the new singer for Nightwish", before the band had even made a public statement about it. She kind of knew then, too, apparently.

I know you are mostly into the musical side, or the instruments. Floor is indeed playing her instrument as well the whole time, she is massaging every word or sound coming out of her mouth more vibrato, less, more air, less, and constantly coloring the words for maximum effectiveness. More power, less, all to keep the listener engaged to the song/story. 😁🤘

Please, consider reacting to TUOMAS HOLOPAINEN - "A LIFETIME OF ADVENTURE" (official video)
from his 2014 solo project 'Music Inspired by the Life and Times of Scrooge', the graphic novel by Don Rosa. Tuomas essentially wrote a soundtrack for the novel. Tuomas got the idea in 1999, so it ONLY took him 15 years to get from the idea to completion. It was recorded in London with an orchestra. Vocals by Johanna Kurkela, Tuomas' wife. If there was The best of Tuomas Holopainen, this song belongs to the compilation. Different from Nightwish but as good, beautiful.
    Interesting and funny backroung info:
"Tuomas Holopainen and Don Rosa interviewed by Radio Nova", parts 1&2, only 5 minutes altogether.

Little correction , at Wacken 2013 Floor was already ~ 9 Month in Nightwish and had already made the songs her own . It was her first concert @ Wacken open Air with Nightwish . Wacken open Air is an event on a yearly Basis in Germany . Floor was thrown into Nightwish in the mid of a World Tournee , starting with some concerts America/ South America , she had 48h to learn the setlist ...

Part of your analysis is flawed. Floor was a star In symphonic metal long before Nightwish. She was in After Forever for 10 years and 5 albums , then Revamp for a few years and two albums .

True, more accurately you could day this was the first time *most* of the audience will have seen her, particularly with Nightwish.

Hi Mike, I am glad to see you back. Would you like to do a reaction to Nightwish‘s „Song of myself“? I really need someone to explain the last line of the lyrics for me. It‘s the very last line of a fantastic album and it is a musical term. And I don‘t understand what it refers to. Could you help me? There is a very long text reading at the end which you will probably not find in any life version. You would need the studio version.

I don't claim to comprehend everything you say, but for a few minutes I feel pretty smart, until all that knowledge leaks out of my geriactric brain.
