- After many videos and images of wild boars causing havoc in Singapore recently, MJ employed the help of a local wildlife expert, Ivan Kwan, to dive deep into Pasir Ris Park to find out what exactly caused the wild boars to act so rowdily!
Editors note: When you see a wild boar and stay away. Do not feed them.
Underrated channel
Thanks for the support! 🥰
Yes that fence along Pasir Ris Height got many many Boars. Very easy to spot. But the largest I've seen is in Pulau Ubin.
I remember being glared at by a mama boar on Ubin before and it was spine-chilling.
I have been a trail runner many years and have close encounters with them many times in MacRitchie, Bt Timah, Chestnut and Wallace. Having seen them so close in their natural habitat many times enough to debunk the myth that they are aggressive towards humans. Most of the time they would run away upon seeing me. Some would standby to run but only after realising that I am not a threat towards them then they will be at ease.
Im here for MJ ! she makes every information so interesting. PS i love you puns
Thanks for the suppork!
@@JustKeepThinking guess you got ppl ROOTing for you
@@Joekool88 Oinkly if you are the one doing the rooting!
Brilliant video. Unfortunately alot of their habitat have been cleared for redevelopment and its causing them to come out into the urban areas. Great job u guys!
Thank you!
Hahahhaha. You are crazily cheerfully funny. I like. 👍👍
Interesting channel. Esp on those hike and animals discovery. Thanks for sharing.
@8:16...That explains it!. I did my ns in the 80s and I never saw wild boars, in Tekong, Area D, Sarimbun, Lim Chu Kang, anywhere... I've been telling everyone Wild boars in Singapore is newly introduced but nobody believes me.
Now I know I'm right!
interesting and informative channel. also liking the host's goofy-ness. (if that's a word) 😝🤩
Great video and I really really love your lively vibes MJ!!! 🤩🤩🤩
Thank you for the kind words!!
What’s the theme song music hahaha, I can’t seem to find it
hi MJ where is this place?
The boars don’t care about you, they just want your food. If you are holding onto food, especially food that you can smell. Just drop it if the boar is following you
Best SG channel :)
🥰🥰🥰

Here in the US we have Wild Hogs which are a cross breed between an Eurasian Boar and Domestic Pig and they're not indigenous over here and were imported and very aggressive, and are responsible for destroying farm crops in the millions of dollars!
CHIA YEW !! Wa Wild Boar also Chia Yew -- rooting for food -- jalan here and jalan there, may end up HDB flats.Interesting to see them in Singapore.
Hopefully people keep their distances and not get hurt when they visit our hdbs!
The wild boar really ‘boar hiew’ the people... jialak. Soon they will be the big boars of the estate!! *can’t fight the puns, join them.*
The forested section that borders the park now fenced up.
Can you find David?
i love the mj puns
Very cute girl. 🥰🤩
Wild Boar in Pulau Ubin *(Dutch City and Fort of Malacca)*
Since there are no natural predators that will control the wild boar population and some people keep feeding them...
In the long term, we may have to play the predator role in order to maintain the population.
Are you going to chase, kill and eat on the spot like a predator?
Let’s not boar-der them ladies and gents
Me and my parents love to watch your videos
I’ve also see a lot of wild boars footprint but I didn’t saw one but at lease I went there and saw 2
Did Otter swim from Malaysia?
They might have!
Love your puns MJ!☺️
I went to Windsor park and found many wild monkeys and wild boars
Are they edible? And if they are, is it legal to slaughter one and bring home to cook?
you don’t know what disease they have
Jesus fucking christ wtf r u thinking?
This is how epidemics start. When people eat animals they find and viruses from animals jump to humans. Like HIV. The pigs you buy contain antibiotics that prevent them from dying in pest infested farms. Safer but get antibiotic resistance. Be vegan.
A good educational video to educate the public. Kudos.
Still be careful friends, greetings from Indonesia
most of the female and piglets wild boars will avoid human, but a alpha male is ferocious. Many jungle trekkers rather meet a wolf than an alpha wild boar.
I have seen wild boars before and they r scary.
Scary and disgustingly dirtty.
@@bobafett5757 surprisingly, they are actually pretty clean. Mud has anti bacterial properties and is nature's bath despite its appearance.
@@charlesyap1210 .. then adopt this disgussting wild animal to be your pet.
Why scary?
I seen many wild boars at the fish farm where your were at whenever we go pass that road.
I hope nobody else gets hurt by them 😞
@@JustKeepThinking ... I hope this disgustting boar will stop attacking people and its best to cull all of them cos we have no space for them to live with human.
okay know where already

Oh i searched that on google and ppl where very very very VERY badly injured
That was really scary. Apparently the wild boar was spooked and was dashing away, sadly the woman was in the way and got hurt 😞
@@JustKeepThinking .. Wild boar spooked and dashing away ??? Are you a psychic or God to know exactly what went down on that day ??? And do you really live inside that wild boar brain cell to know how it feels ??? Please don't make up some unsupportive theory to make the injured woman seems less human than the boar.
@@bobafett5757 obviously you never watch animal documentaries or read about them. Animals show how sentient they are. They can be curious, adventurous, timid with their own personalities and can be taught some skills like moving joysticks for a reward. Just like us!
@@lauratanln Then go live with this wild animals and dont come back to live amongst human ok
@@lauratanln Wild animals and human are not the same Fooooollll
Coast Guard not doing their job well.
It's always people feeding these animals that cause problems. Same for macaques (monkeys), pigeons and even rats (by littering)

If there too many wild Boars in singapore. Then they should transfer some to smaller island 🏝
Guess what ! If we keep tearing down forest, their natural habitat, their natural food hunt areas are decreased & as a result they venture into urban built up... people who are unknowledgeable or unfamiliar became fearful when meeting wild boars n causes them to react to “survive”. We sh let them be - if they hv enuf food they will not “explore “ your residential zone... to feed or not to feed I think it has subjective results...
I like wild boars!
I like them too! Just that they are a little scary up close!
Are you aware wild boars are actually pigs and it is meant to be eaten. So i guess you love Pork Chop ?
I saw a baby boar during the holidays at pasir ris.🐗
They are so cute right!
@@JustKeepThinking .. Hope u are aware boars are actually pigs and are meant to be eaten and edible animals are not cute cos they are not pets.
@@bobafett5757 Hope you are aware that wild boars are wild animals and pigs are versions of them that we have domesticated. So not everything is meant to be eaten just because we have eaten something similar to it.
@@JustKeepThinking .. Hope you are aware that Turkey and Chicken are of same kind and Turkey is a wild animal and never domesticated from their wilderness but yet everyone eats Turkey so I dont see why should it be different between WildBoars and Pigs and even many or maybe all countries especially around Asia allow eating wildboar meat. Also Deer is family of goat and deer is a wild animals and its meat eaten everywhere in this world. In fact Deer is so much cuter than wildboar yet we ate it and am sure deer meat is sold in Sg.
Even world top chef Gordon Ramsay has cooking recipe for WildBoar. Think logically we can start farm a wildboar and domesticated it and exploit its meat. Dont waste resources and let these Boars wonder on human habitat without a purpose.
@@bobafett5757 People definitely eat wild boar but saying we should eat it because people eat it somewhere is a flawed argument in itself. I won't tell you to eat a dog meat because somewhere in the world, someone likes eating them.
Also, deers are NOT goats. Sheep and goats are part of the Bovidae family, while deers are Cervidae. Deers are in fact more closely related to elk and moose.
For how long can Singaporean preserve their forest 😱

Let's hunt wild boar and have a ROAST dinner party.
🤣
YEAH!!!!! I'm in it! Wild boar can be made into a roast or a restaurant quality dish.
WHERE THEY COME FROM
SO MANY ????????
Jiayou! Like your character !! :)
are both of them single? 🤭
Maybe we can find a way to live with them and not cull them or anything. Cos this world is for everyone you know?
We would love for that to happen too :)
I know the answer Why the wild boar It’s getting closer to our neighborhood but if you don’t know the answer look around and Ask our government why
No need ask government. Ask those who feed them
100% agree
Singaporeans need to learn what co existence means and this comes with reponsibility and awareness
I think human are more aggressive than animal.
Humans are technically animals too 😅
They love mud… cos they mud rep
Just my opinion,
Maybe starting a seasonal hunt, so that we can have an annual quota how much can be hunted and made available for human consumption.
Even for crows, I read recipes from other countries describing it similar to duck meat. In my opinion, if you’re killing it, mind as well make good use of it and not waste any parts of it. Though it may take time to open up public opinions to accept such food sources.
I personally find it such a waste that most of the fruit trees planted by the government in public places are not harvested.
Singapore is planning to be self sufficient in terms of food production. Maybe this can aid in that vision ?
Animals exist With humans for millions of years, not For humans as food. We have cruelty-free foods in the supermarkets
*I N O S U K E*
Just catch n bbq
It is very difficult to change the thinking of those feeders. In their minds they think that feeding the animals they are doing a good deed. These people are in fact very selfish. They only think for themselves actually. The fact that feeding animals give them a sense of self satisfaction, like they are doing good deeds, but they don't see the whole universal picture the harm they are doing to others, and the animals themselves. The problem is bigger than we know. It is mindset changing we are talking about here, and for some people, how they behave actually have got to do with the people they are mix with, the ideas brainwashed into them, and how they grow up though the years.
If you dont want the feeders to exist then get rid of the beast. Prroblem solved.
@@bobafett5757 why should wild animals be killed because some humans can't control their urge to feed them
@@autumnrainxi .. Then why should human be attacked, injured and even killed when some wildboars cannot control their urges and temper ?? Please explain this with humanity and tell me human life matters first or wild animals ??
@@bobafett5757 maybe because they are wild animals unlike humans who should be able control their natural instincts
@@autumnrainxi ... So if human have wiser and better brain than wild animals then let human control them with no question to be asked. Wild animals belong to the wild and not human habitat.
Lame… u catch and eat la
Go watch Gordon Ramsay episode on Hunting, Butchering and Cooking Wild Boar cos its yummy and Gordon is right this boars must be culled and butchered for a great meal. Delicious recipe from Gordon 👍
