This makes me really grateful living in malaysia especially kota kinabalu.. Our city is only 15mins from Marine national parks.. Take a short trip of boat, then u'll arrive at clear blue water, sandy beaches, snorkeling with coral reefs and fishes...
That's fantastic - you are spoiled with some lovely diving in Borneo, but diving in Singapore seems to me to be like in Sydney... it's not spectacularly laid out for you in clear water and easy, relaxed diving. You have to work for it... strong tides, low viz, currents and more - and I think that gives it it's own special quality - it's just as interesting and facinating, and perhaps all the more so because it's hidden away from you - certainly some of our Sydney reefs are like that - and it's very similar to British diving too, which often viz in the 3-7m range, lots of currents, lots of tides... When I started diving I thought I'd only want clear, still tropical waters, but right now, I'm looking at Pulau Jong and thinking "I want me some of that reef action" lol
More of this please. It's nice seeing my mother's homeland still taking good care of nature. I'll always consider myself part orang Singapura at heart.
Lived in Singapore for several years with my Singaporean partner. Nowhere I've ever been has ever felt more like home :) Sadly, it was changing a lot when I were were there in the early 00s, and not for the better.... it was becoming less the city we loved. I'm so glad her nature is still being cared for, and my heart still warms and skips a beat when stepping off the plane to visit family and friends.... but sadly it's not the place it once was, and I don't feel I could live there now. Feels more like a playground for rich "expats" now... My heart was and always will be in the heartlands.
Wow I'm completely blown away! The marine life is amazing. Never in my wildest dream would I have imagined this is in Singapore. Thank you for doing what you're doing. 🙏
Ria is amazing. I stumbled across her website and was absolutely amazed. I had no idea there was such healthy coral in Singaporean waters, or that there was such dedication to recording them. What a hero :) - I lived in Singapore for years and never knew about these treasures. I am far away now but always have such love for the little red dot ^_^
Cheerful guide, wish to join her expedition. Yes, I can easily relate and picture her description of the sea anemones, sometimes look like chendol, sometimes look like bee hoon, a garlic bread sea cucumber😄and this one what is it, I don't know, just take picture😆 Thank you and gratitude to all the ecologists for saving and sharing the nature with us.
Please take good care of this national treasure of Singapore, don't pollute it with run away development of oil refinery and use it as your trash dumping ground. The island has great future potential for the country.
very proud of singapore even though i am not the people .. a small country and a small nation but have a great soul and spirit so that it can build singapore as a very large country per capita
I've been overseas for quite sometimes now. I must say, hearing this lady speak Singlish makes me miss Singapore all the more. I miss Singlish even though I used to think it's weird, but it's my country's identity.
We need to protect and conserve whatever marine eco-system or any nature life we still have not only for the sake of our country but also the world...sadly but slowly the developments of the world are killing the earth....if we dont stop and protect what is left, then the world will die 😔
Time 19:04 - 19:08. Drone operator engaged by CNA should have landed his UAV immedately as there was a manned aircraft flight not too high above his drone. Safety first please. Thanks.
You shouldn't touch the corals though. It prevents the corals from growing, thus meaning that going and walking there is just making the nature suffer.

I am jealous... lol. :)

Most cheerful naturalist ever :)
Thank you, CNA for this wonderful series of videos.
I am not into marine life but wow Rita's enthusiasm is really contagious!
Those tiles are a fantastic inovation. It's great to see people giving nature a helping hand for once.

Not everything has to be reclaimed and developed. Nature is best left alone. Grant Chek Jawa protection status now!
Great series CNA. Thanks man.
Thanks for watching!
Great video ,CNA 👍❤️

Very nice island. 👏😍

Such a shame that we started from a fishing village yet fishing in our local waterbodies is now banned across the nation.
as an avid recreational fisherman who practices catch and release i could not have said it any better

Just sounds wrong when talking
Pulau Huntu 😍👍
Yeah, the last time I was at Pulau Jong was FOUR DECADES ago. Would like to go back. Need TRANSPORT. Was at Chek Jawa, LAST WEEK.
cendol & bihun :)
Why are we not showing more of Singapore's marine life?

No surprises, what many don't realise is Singapore lies just outside the coral triangle.
Eh walao eh, we Singapore got such corals why aren't we scuba diving locally?
Water not clear

They're probably just fragging small bits of the corals for studies or propagation. If done properly, it will not harm them.
island is Sg ...🖒🖒🖒
Tak!...masih hidup nama pulau ni..."Majulah SINGAPURA!!!" di passport dan mata-wang Dollar Singapore semata-mata.
