They really are! The last time I was there the friendliness and hospitality of the Peranakans (and basically all Singaporeans) was just off the charts. An amazing culture!
11 days???? omgosh that's crazie......the best food takes a long time I've realized....that's commitment and love......that sums up why we watch these videos......food+time=love. ........
Know something Mark ? If my day is not going well, and I'm feeling dull and lethargic, all I need to do is watch one of your videos. Seeing you so full of enthusiasm makes me feel great again. Keep it up, Mark.
Mark, as a Peranakan, I'd say Daisy's Dream Kitchen is one of the best representations of the Peranakan cuisine. I'm so glad that you had the chance to visit the place and you enjoyed the food! You are a great host; I appreciated your enthusiasm and energy.
Mark eat anything and have you thinking its good, then if it's something he don't care for he dump a bunch of chilies on it. Lmao, gotta love him. I watch his videos everyday. He should be on T V. He make me run home from dialysis and cook the spiciest stuff I could think of. I had lost my best friend last April and I had stop eating and had become unhealthy cause I couldn't eat and I kept getting sick not realizing it. God sent me Mark and I have been eating and cooking and gained my weight back and I am very healthy now. Thank You God for Mark and his family and friends, So pleasant to watch him and thanks for bringing food back to my life. Little things matter good people. AKA I love Spicey.
Mark wiens always leaves me hungry and wanting to explore many dishes. I love your videos... The different countries and cultures that you visit. I do Really enjoy everything.
I just love Mark and his little family, for me he has made the nightmare of the covid pandemic emotionally and mentally survivable.Combining cuisine and culture of so many parts of the world.A travel genius!
8:50 I liked how the woman saw you nodding your head up and down and she smiled in the background. I wish you would have done an interview with her or if not in the video itself maybe a little clip of her at the end smiling and in the kitchen. That would have been lovely. She seemed very proud.
Me, totally me🤷🤜🤛I just can't get enough of these amazing videos, plus I love seeing the unique places around the world and just history and food from around our beautiful world
Hi Mark, My 3 year old son loves to see your videos every night and if at all i forget to show him the videos , he says "' Pappa please put the 'hmmm' tasty videos " and he loves the expression you make after tsting the food 'hmmm...'. Thanks for your efforts and keep making more videos . Lots of wishes from Indians in Germany
Great video of a very interesting cuisine Mark! The Keluak is actually a tall tree from mangroves in SE Asia, and that seed is actually the seed of a poisonous fruit. The seeds have to be boiled, then fermented until they turn a dark brown or black. The seeds contain hydrogen cyanide and the boiling and fermentation helps extract the hydrogen cyanide, making it edible. Source: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pangium_edule
Mark and Ying, what a fantastic presentation of what obviously is just a treasure of a site in Singapore! Well, this is now on my "must visit" list for sure! You all do a premiere job at executing a world-class presentation of it all. Thank you, and thank you! Yes, I concur; that giant "black nut" dish is so unique; I've never seen anything like that in my life! Best to you both; safe travels. Sawadee krap.
