      Yes! I only used to get lashes and weave because I didn’t feel like I looked pretty without them (because of social media). Recently I threw away my lashes and I do still get protective styles to protect my natural hair underneath, but I am never getting a wig again. I agree with josh’s example of how being complacent is a killer, and I definitely see how it’s a two way street. A pastor once told me to never stop courting once you get married. That a husband and wife should continue to learn one another. For example even if you get a formal education and become a nurse, you still have to get a renewal every two years to maintain your license. What I’m saying is even if you think you’ve reached the finish line, there’s more work to be done to maintain/renew the relationship otherwise it’ll deteriorate and become outdated.

    Usually tho when we don’t like the “nice guy approach” it’s because we’re just not attracted to him, most guys get put in the friend zone not because he’s a nice guy and we prefer bad boys but because we’re just not attracted to him & in all honesty If Im not interested I’m not gonna fake it just because I know he’s a good. That’s settling imo.

    The 2nd question I agree for the most part with Josh in my opinion the bad boy is romanticized in books and movies so especially when we're younger and more immature is what we go for cause it's the examples we see in those movies and books and it's fun and a challenge cause we tend to try to change them like Josh said but with age we realize the (genuine) good/nice guy that is into us is better I do got to say there's a difference in being interested and thirsty cause if you're to thirsty especially in the beginning when you barely know me (personality wise) and mostly compliment me on my looks like Josh said it's not gonna be fun or interesting and it's gonna make me question what you're interested in...cause from my experience there was a lot of infatuation over my looks and fantasies they created on their heads and not actually interested in me as a person

    one thing I learned from my psychology course is that when we are angry sometimes it stems from a deeper meaning. For example, if I constantly remind my partner to take out the trash everyday but they aren’t willingly doing it, then of course it will make me mad. Initially, it will look like Im mad because he won’t take out the trash but the deeper meaning can be lack of taking initiative or feeling invalidated.

    Here for the "quiet guys"! They have a look of confidence and self-assuredness. It's not smug or superficial. The latter exudes a bit of masquerading. When younger, liked bad guys. Quickly found out their shallowness. To this end, I dig nice guys!!😍

  • @shentc
    @shentc 2 роки тому +39

    I think some women probably don’t go for the nice guy because maybe they have had an experience in the past where the nice guy turned out not to be so nice so then a guy who is nice to them would appear to be hard to trust.
    On the other hand if they go for the bad boy at least they see that side of him first hand and know what to expect and then if they see a sweet side of the bad boy somehow that makes them fall in love even more and maybe makes them feel special because they think he’s only sweet with them. 🤷🏽‍♀️

    Idk bout question 2. ‘Mean’ people get side eyed from me. And I don’t like disrespect, so when a dude thinks that’s how he’s going to get my attention (being an ass, overtly extra, trying to tell me how I should be) it turns me off. I hate the “you should smile more” type of ppl, I instantly despise that type of energy from people in general, let alone a dude who “likes me”. It’s just not attractive at all. 🤷🏾‍♀️ Spice doesn’t win everytime when you’ve been shown different by someone who actually cares. The mean ones IMO seem like they just want something out of you. Or start the fire so they can also put it out. That just doesn’t fly with me.
    Edit: I think the nice approach doesn’t work when he’s not as attractive. Like the example Isi gave. It’s odd that that Woman said she didn’t gravitate to him just because she knew he liked her. If you return the same sentiments I feel like that’s what most Women look for, that he’s interested…so why when we have dudes that give you the run around all of a sudden that’s not enough. It’s like you need him to play with your heart or something to know he’s fr.
    Tbh I think it’s all conditioning. We’ve been conditioned & so used to being treated like $hit that when we do see the real ones out there who’d prove they want you & be about that action we get scared, don’t take it serious, & think it’s a joke. It’s sad.

    I need a good blend of sugar and spice. There’s a man I know who melts when we talk. He’s extremely sweet and doesn’t say or do anything that he thinks I may not like. There’s another man I’m friends with who notices subtle differences in my hair, makeup, outfits, etc. which I appreciate but he challenges me. He’s not afraid to hurt my feelings to tell me about myself BUT if I feel disrespected he is humble and takes what I’ve said into consideration. I like the balance. I like when a guy isn’t afraid of me, who knows I’m not perfect and wants to help me grow. HOWEVER, there needs to be respect and kindness with that.

    @giachristine9188 2 роки тому +5

    Most older women have told me from young that a guy has to be a little more interested for it to work so I never really ever focused on getting a guy.
    I think the whole “bad boy” thing has more to do with the conditions we are raised in. Let’s be honest, most of the good looking guys are the “bad boys” because they were either brought up with the confidence that they’re so handsome,and he’s gonna be a heartbreaker (which they subconsciously become) OR they internalize the things they see other guys do around them to get many women vs having a girlfriend. Most guys can’t take rejection so they often go to other guys for help and that help usually consist of toxic advice for self- preservation.
    As far as women being attracted to bad boys, I think it’s because they have the confidence in themselves that women admire. A man that can stand up in himself is always gonna win. And women also pay attention to the guys around her. If she has a good father 8/10 times she’ll get a good man, but when we don’t have one at all or low quality ones she’ll subconsciously seek out ones using society standards (which is low) so when she does get him into other shit she thinks she’s got him but she’s really just teaching him new tricks.

    Nah but I agree with everything he said except about to wig thing. Has anyone is this comment sections ever been on black Twitter like everrrrr. Black men stay talking abt what they do and don’t like black women to wear. A few years ago they were going on an tangent about how they don’t like when black girl wear braids. Then they went on about how they can see the grids on our lace fronts, then they went on about how they don’t like our natural hair. Black Women also bash each other black women about their looks but to act like black men don’t care abt what Black women do with their hair would be extremely false. Josh might not care or his friends might not care and thats good for him, however, there a lot black men and I mean a lot of black men who say they would even date a black woman if she wears her natural hair or they wouldn’t date a black woman that wear weaves. Even in my day to life I have men come up to me talkign abt how I need to get my nails done Bc my nails are nubs. A lot of men care wayyy too much abt what women got going on with their appearance. And then they turn asking and bash them for not loving themselves in their natural state. Girls, do you.

    I’m glad someone brought up accountability for men towards their friends and other men…. I’ve been seeing a lot of men talk about women don’t like accountability but they don’t have that energy among themselves.
    Men seem to have the mentality that they can’t tell another man what to do, but expect women to 😏

    My favorite answer was to “why do guys get so upset when you remind them if something they need to do?”
    This was my favorite Because I needed this answer in my life. From now on I’ll ask my man at the end of the day AFTER he’s forgotten to do something. I guess we should give him the chance to get to it first and don’t assume he’s forgotten or ignored it.
    Oh I died at holding your friends accountable 🗣”YOU CAN DO BETTER!!!” 🤣

    On the being bold section. I’ve heard (& this is even from ppl who read the Bible) that Women seeking their partner or shooting their shot that it’s considered “thirsty” or chasing or something like that. And I was confused because I thought if we want something we should go after it/them. Why do we have to wait for a male to come after us? We may lose our chance if he even is too scared to speak up. No one has time for that.

    I actually never viewed the word simping like that. To me the word simping is not just exclusive to romantic relationships and simply means going above and beyond and giving all your energy to a relationship while the other party does nothing. For example, if every time you hang out with your friend you have to be the one to schedule and plan the whole outing as well as pay for everything while the other party never reaches out to you and never pays for themselves. This is an example of simping. Giving all your time and energy into a relationship where the other party gives nothing in return.

    Quick little analogy to compare to the lion and gazelle thing lol. Not coming for anyone because it’s definitely a common train of thought but here’s another way to look at it. Unfortunately most of society thinks that way about getting into relationships but if you think about it, that mindset can come from a place of “using”. When you’re a lion hunting for prey, you don’t want to keep the thing you’re chasing, you want to consume it and use it. I think a different viewpoint more people should adopt is to be a “gardener”. You still have to go out and get your plants to garden, but once you have it you have to keep doing the things you did to make it grow. You also have to adapt with it. Maybe it doesn’t need the same things as when you first got it or maybe it needs a different environment, etc etc. I feel like that’s a really healthy change to the way of thinking about the process of getting and building of a relationship 😊🪴

    I agree with josh about the wigs, the make up etc. I don’t wear make up are wigs but I know women who do. Some men really don’t care about that kind of stuff. It’s not nothing wrong with getting your hair done, makeup etc. Some women try to compete with other women to see who looks the best. Who have the best hair, clothes etc. I also agree with Josh when he was trying to paint us a picture with the animals. Only a Aquarius would understand, how I know because I am an Aquarius. They way he explained it I got it. Also y’all came along way. I’ve watched a lot of y’all older videos and y’all evolved so much as a couple. Y’all rock. Great content as always.

    As I’m transitioning into adulthood, I like the nice approach. I love a man that’s going to bring me flowers, tell me I’m beautiful, and express how he feels about me. I want to be clear that we are mutually into each other. I don’t want to change no grown ass man, he should’ve changed at his big age or he should at least knowledge particular habits (like not being forward and romantic) and actively work to change that. Or he’s simply not for me, and that’s okay too

    For some women when a man is “too into her” from the jump, yeah, it’s just not exciting. That comes from an area in their life they haven’t grown in yet.
    For the rest of us, a guy being that into us from the very beginning can feel uncomfortable for another reason... We know that they don’t know us. Any attraction they’re feeling is LIKELY (not always) coming from a superficial place. Whatever persistence they exhibit in trying to get us to date them feels unprompted, weird, or just plain extra. Women like to know/ feel like you’re attracted to them for the right reasons and not just because you want an arm piece (or a piece of the arm piece you feel me?) .
    Or she just don’t like you and there’s no use analyzing it 😂😂
