IT ACTUALLY HAPPENED! I was hoping that you would review this monitor after I saw HUB's review so I could cross-reference but I decided to bite the bullet and upgrade to 1440p. Very satisfied watching the review on the XG27ACS. Sadly it's the only monitor in my region that had reasonable price tag, and it's gone up from when I bought mine (310 USD to 345 USD). (it was even cheaper than the MSI recommendations and KTC just isn't available where I'm at.)
The reviews on Amazon are brutal. They say that there is a lot of backlight bleed and that the anti-glare coating is too grainy. I personally think that it's overpriced at $300. For less money, you can get a 240Hz 1440p IPS monitor. (Titan Army P2510S and Gigabyte GS27Q X)

This was one of my options when I was searching for a new monitor last week. I realized this monitor has the exact same specs as VG27AQ3A, only this monitor is 30 ~ 50 USD more expensive due to its brand, so I bought the VG27 monitor. Funny enough both are ASUS brands. So if you're looking for cheaper option get the VG27.
Hi how does the display look, im reading some complains on reddit and ytb that it has some weird matt coating and it looks like fuzzy and its very annoying to the eyes, is that true? Also, LG 27GR83Q or Asus ROG Strix XG27ACS what should i buy ???
I also have that Omen X 25 (TN 240hz G-Sync variant). It's a shame ULMB on that monitor is limited to 144hz. I'm actually looking to upgrade to XG27ACS so this is literally the perfect video.
I've just bought it and I'm returning it in a few days. This monitor would be perfect if the coating wasn't so agressively grainy. It's not visible while playing games or watching movies, but on any mostly white/light background the display looks like it had a layer of grease/vaseline on it. I'm buying Dell g2724d shortly after. I was deceived by the Asus ROG brand and its legacy was the only thing that made me buy this Asus monitor. Besides the coating. It's well done for the price amd has good features. I bought it for 325 USD so it was slightly more expensive than Dell g2724d.
could the coating be a defective unit problem? does just look like that for all units of this monitor? i want to get this for web design and most of my workflow is in white/light color space. only this and vg27aqml1a are available in my country but vg27aqml1a has worse color accuracy
Dear Techless, I'm wondering if I should buy the Innocn 27G1S Plus or the XG27ACS. I will play valorant (semi competitively) and watch videos. I have a budget of 300€. From EUW, France. I do have a slight preference for glossy panels. I can get the Asus monitor for 50€ more than the Innocn monitor. That's why i'm picking the 27G1S Plus as a first option. Yet, if you think that the Asus one is a better monitor for me, I would mind changing my choice as it would be the only monitor i'm buying. I never tried 240Hz so not picking the Innocn monitor won't really affect me FPS wise Best Regards.
Interestingly, hardware unboxed got much better contrast ratio, at 1100:1, so you might have gotten unlucky with the panel. However, the common thing between both reviews is excellent motion clarity, with a great variable overdrive setting that works over the wide range of refresh rate, and standard colour accuracy is great, especially in the sRGB mode. Will definitely consider this monitor
Hi. Let me throw this at you, if you please.Does this panel use the standard "RGB subpixel layout", rather than the triangular or that other style layout? Using a RGB subpixel layout is said to be much better at displaying text and it is optimized for Windows! I'm surprised that, so far, all monitors i see for sale - do not mention this at all. Hoping you'd know for sure. Great review man. Thank you
The only bad thing here is that it has only 890:1 contrast. Imo the IPS monitors are good when they pass the original 1000:1 over it. Like 1100-1200:1 while still having good response time. I wonder to buy this monitor as my first 1440p ever, but i'm curious about that low contrast. You think i should give it a try?
I'm trying to decide if I should get this or the LG 27GP850-B as some have pointed out in the comments. If you could do a comparison review that would be awesome.
I’ve tested this monitor and the matte coating is too thick causing the image to look like when you have a wet smudge/or an oily screen on a white or grey background. The points of sale being the low latency at high fresh rates and barely any flickering. G2724D over this for colour accuracy and response. Otherwise if you need a slightly higher refresh rate go for the ROG
i bought one last month for $200...a ktc 170 hz 1440p curved. so far so good...i don't really use it much for gaming, but I'm glad i can go past 120hz if need be. i was using an old jvc 37 in. 1080p tv as my main monitor. so i see this as an improvement...and just this week it's down to $160 with coupon....granted asus is a more reputable brand but you're basically just paying a higher price for the name.
I've been looking at this monitor for a few months now but it was too expensive where I lived and there were barely any reviews of it at the time so I decided to go for another one instead. Anyway, Display Specifications say the panel is only 8-bit, is that really the case? Because I find that hard to believe at this price point considering most other 1440p monitors of this class or cheaper than it is 10bit/8bit+FRC.

@@shuvamsky It's iffy, I've also bought one and have been using it. I think it's only noticeable if you're thinking about it, other than that it should be fine :)

can only find it for 360-404€, my guess is that it's not worth at that price? any better monitor alternative for 300-360€ if possible? Finding a monitor that is accepted as good seems harder than finding any other PC part seriously wtf.
While HDR is a gimmick on monitors like these, some games might still benefit from it. I use it for example in Halo MCC on my LG 27GR75Q. The main issue here is windows, because windows can't auto turn on or off HDR mode (Win+Alt+B) since auto HDR requires monitor to be in HDR mode...

I measure the contrast at D65 white to keep it comparable. The other numbers might be the native contrast ratio which is typically higher. Variance is also a factor.
hi I'm currently trying to decide whether to pick up the Strix XG27ACS or the MSI G274QPX. I'm using it for regular uses like watching youtube and dramas while playing games which mostly are esports titles and monster hunter. Do you have any opinions to give, because I know both are at different refresh rate but just wanna upgrade my monitor from a 60hz to a higher hz. I just want to know whether the asus or msi is worth buying for the games that I want to play.
I went for the LG one, and haven't tried the ASUS. While I'm quite happy with the LG, motion still adds a noticable amount of blurriness which is similar to my old 10yo TN. Based on the specs, I'd go with the ASUS instead if you are heavily into competitive FPS. Otherwise both are great. Can heavily vouch for the LG's colors, those were a night & day improvement :)
I got this monitor on prime day sale for $200. It's well worth it for the price but the matte finish on it is one of the worst i've seen in person. I think the Dell G2724D is a better option for budget monitor if you care about the finish.

The contrast ratio is deal breaker.
Acer XV272U V3 is good if you're in India
hdr is a gimmick, but, you can use backlight strobing and hdr to get a much brighter image on some of these monitors, after u tune and calibrate hdr with windows store tool
The XG27ACS the LG GR83Q-B
i watched a Chinese review and they measured 1111:1 contrast ratio, another English review and they measured 1117:1 contrast ratio, but in your review it says 890:1, why is it different? i really want to get the monitor if it's above 1000:1
I measure the contrast at D65 white to keep it comparable. The other numbers might be the native contrast ratio which is typically higher. Variance is also a factor.
8:12 What would you recommend as a cheaper alternative to this monitor in terms of panel quality?
Hi I have a Question why can't I buy the mobiuz ex240 in germany anymore. I only found it on amazon renewed
Can you do a rewiew and right setting for the koorui gn02
hi I'm currently trying to decide whether to pick up the Strix XG27ACS or the MSI G274QPX.
I can't use that ICC profile on SDR, it only works for HDR
Review LG 27GP850-B plsssss
I don't know if I should buy LG 27GR83Q or Asus XG27ACS. Both are same price in my country.

Watch some LG 27GP850-B reviews its may help idk
what about acer vg271u m3bmiipx? also have similar 180hz ips refresh rate 😃
I got this monitor on prime day sale for $200. It's well worth it for the price but the matte finish on it is one of the worst i've seen in person. I think the Dell G2724D is a better option for budget monitor if you care about the finish.
hii, does the monitor look grainy/smudgy in white/light color screens? or for example when browing on youtube in light white mode
@@Kian_Farasat yes, exactly
Remember, you cant spell ASUS without SUS
Looking for a new monitor, leaning towards msi mag 274QRF QD E2 over this one because of $30 Steam code promo + 65W PD for my macbook which this asus doesn't support. No reviews for the msi though.
MSI one has much better contrast ratio which is why I am also leaning towards it. Have you got yours?
Does it has vrr?
This vs the dell g2724d?
I think the dell looks better personally having tried both
I bought this beast at just 199$ during sale, bro tell me that isn't steal 😂
do you like it? does it look grainy/smudgy in white screen or light colors?
On the sRGB tuned setting i see the brightness was set to 28 but what was the contrast set to?
if he doesn't mention it then it's default
Labge nix gehört :-)
Hi techless,
I know this is off topic for the video, but as a channel advertising Keyboard would you be interest in making tutorials for qmk/via ?
There is next to no good content on youtube.

evnia 24M1N3200Z. Please answer bro I need a new monitor.
By the way love your content ❤
Please answer soon going to buy.
Even if this monitor is as good as you say, I will never ever buy something from asus anymore. It’s a very horrible company that I don’t want to support
No sense when the lg 27gp850 exist since years and on top of that is faster at the same time it has less overshot....
Next
Remember, never buy asus
Why
@@wither4851 They have a pretty bad reputation in customer service.
@@wither4851 as you can see by his lack of answer, theres nothing wrong with asus other than sometimes way too high prices, but in this case it seems properly priced
