I really like these types of movies I wish they would make more films like this one...in the early 90s they made quality films similar to this one anyways great film and story!
Oh, cut it out, dude. First of all, "acting" is MUCH more than what simple-minded people like you make it out to be. Secondly, many "actors" go method for their roles, which mean they "become" their characters. So, yes it takes tremendous courage to become a crazy alcoholic or an abusive, murdering husband.
Well then say it takes hard work and focus, but don't say it's courage. And from what I've heard, actors love those type of roles so what was really at stake here? Yup, nothing.
No. In my opinion, some roles require serious physical and psychological toll on actors. Especially with depressing and twisted roles, an actor can't just 'wing it' they have to invest emotionally into the character, What's at stake here is their time, effort and really just that mental toll that can come in after they've done the movie. Because some people even get depressed watching a movie, imagine being the movie itself, it's risky. Underrated, but definitely risky.
Ledger died because he accidentally OD'd on prescription drugs. There are plenty of people who've done similar dark roles and didn't die. And he died months after he wrapped filming for TDK, while he was working on another film. There are many people who have died like he did and I'm guessing the majority of them weren't actors. Even his own family said it was his fault because he didn't have to take all those pills and his sister even warned him not to the night before it happened. He was sick on top of having insomnia and so when he took a bunch of drugs that he didn't have prescriptions for, he OD'd. Also, other actors on the movie said he would goof around between takes so this narrative where the tortured artist is so emotionally invested in the character that it pulls him in to some deep, dark depression that forces him to take drugs and OD is very appealing but that isn't what happened. So how about you check your facts before saying someone's an idiot, idiot?
So sweet and beautiful Luke and Emily
i love luke's honesty at 'i went for the big budget goddamnit!". LMAO.
Haley Bennett looks so much like Jennifer Lawrence
