One of the easiest repairs I’ve done that wasn’t related to swapping out a spare lol anybody who is skeptical about being about to do this, be patient and make sure you have all the tools. Otherwise it’s definitely doable without a mechanics help. Save yourself some money, I sure did 😌
Thank for this video. My 2008 Accord is at 251k miles!! Once the pump was off… did it look like you could replace all the seals to fix leak? (Or, were you just trying to get it replaced quickly and surely!)
I have a great trick for that damn serpentine belt..they always come off no matter what I did...this time I took an old sweatshirt and t-shirts and once I lined up the belt.. I shoved the thick sweatshirt down in front of. All those pulleys and put it in front of the big one at the broom..crammed the cloth so belt wont slip off.. Did that with every pulley using old t shirts.. The entire belt area was stuffed with cloth.. I use the wrnce and pulled back the Tentioner and belt slipped on ...so fuuuckin g easy.. I have battered my hands and mind on damn serp belts....yhis worked great. ..use it
Under my hood around the power steering pump it’s looks the same…I have sludge everywhere, the thing is that my power steering seems fine except that there was fluid coming out of the res. When I turn the wheel it’s wasn’t making any noise tho. Now my alternator has died and I’m wondering do I have a bad pulley somewhere or maybe has this pump caused my s. Belt not to function properly? What do you think ?
I checked every pulley and the spin, however the power steering pump pulley seems a bit tough to spin and won’t spin much I’m not sure if it’s supposed to be that way or not
@nancyherrejon3773 unfortunately I can't answer your question without hearing it. Ensure u have the correct amount of fluid and the belt Tensioner is functioning properly.
Brother man I have an 2012 Honda Accord exl v6 and I changed the power steering pump twice and changed the fluid the second time changing the pump , the steering still feels tight , any quick suggestions ?
@@carmotion101 it’s not difficult to steer I got it checked just yesterday apparently everything looks fine , from the rack to the pump to the tire pressure , why you say tight can be a good thing tho ?

it looks like u could but u would have to get a puller and remove the pulley
Also did yu install power steering filter ?
What size sockets do yu need to remove it also
How come you change it

Great video!
Have any of you experienced a louder noise after replacing the steering pump ?
It does sound a little louder than when it had the original steering pump I got the new one online
Great video about to tackle this..
It can be reconditioned

Thx men
I see you bought a new pump from O'Reilly. Has it worked out well so far? Can you tell any difference in performance, noise, etc. from the OEM pump?
So far no issues. Works like the OEM.
@@carmotion101I just change mine today and I noticed a louder noise did I do something wrong or is it because I just bought it online

@@carmotion101 I know I wish the comment section would lets up upload a video I might take it to a mechanic see maybe I didn’t something wrong
@@carmotion101 just realized is still leaking 😫
What did you use to ciphen out the PS fluid from the reservoir?
A Fluid extractor off Amazon

worst case u have a problem with the rack. Tight could be a good thing unless it is difficult to steer.

Do you have to bleed the lines
No, it will self bleed.
How much you paid for the pump? I have the same car
right around $100. From O'Reilly
Where did you get the part?
O'Reilly Auto
