Damn I feel like so many musical concepts and theory now suddenly come together and make sense to me! Really amazing how to bring both context and examples into your video
Really great video, you explain things so clearly and the breakdowns of music in the top corner is really helpful! I'd love to see a video on the Strokes if you ever had time, also I think a lot of Arctic Monkeys and Strokes fans crossover!
Thank you very much. It’s really appreciated. That’s a great suggestion. I never really listened to the strokes back in the day but I have a bass student that is obsessed with them so have been over quite a bit of there stuff, it’s really awesome. I’ll definitely get on that too
@@DaveyH Yeah I'm a big fan of both and know there's a lot of crossover with the fans. BTW your music theory vids are great too, thanks for all the work you put into these vids!
Great video! Would've liked for you to break down some of their solos as well tho. Even though I'm sure they use some of the techniques that you've outlined.
Completely agree mate. I wrote that section and filmed some of it but the video was already 30mins long, it took ages to get it down to 16mins. I really wanted to put that section in as I had some good stuff but UA-cam audiences don’t stick around that long for a channel my size. I’ll have to do a separate video on there soloing. Thanks pal. It’s really appreciated
Awesome, thanks for checking it out. It’s actually a squire affinity. I got it a few years ago as I wanted to be able to give my students first hand recommendations for entry level guitars, and I love it it. I’ve changed the pickups but it’s a great guitar for the money. The classic vibes are brilliant, a few of my students have them
This is great, but to me a lot of it sounds a bit more like if AM made even more songs that sounded like Fake Tales of San Francisco and Mardy Bum, which just makes me love this even more.

Hey, I know you're probably not going to respond because I know you posted this video two years ago. But is there anyway that you could help me with making a cool Arctic monkeys style riff?
@@jerry__almaraz that’s great I will have a listen to them and see what songs jump out at me. Kings of Leon is a great suggestion, I’ve never thought to do a kings of Leon one 👍🏼🎸
How to play like Noel Gallagher in Oasis. ua-cam.com/video/PZgDKigf0RI/v-deo.html
7:54 that was some a potent British sentence
Hahaha. Good spot pal
😂
Really does sound like the Arctic Monkeys. Great video.

Hi Dave! Could you do a late Beatles (Abbey Road and Let it be) video? Thanks, recently discovered your channel and loved it
IBR love the Beatles. This will be so much fun to do.
Thanks really appreciated

Great songs.
Ta for watching mate 👍🏼🎸
Love old town road vid
So do I, I’m very fond of that video and very proud of how well it’s done
What is that Gnarley scar from man? Thats a character adding scare right there.
The one on my nose?

@@DaveyHomg you actually noticed and responded even though the video is 3 years old. I’ll definitely be checking your channel for a part 2!!!
Can you make how to play guitar like the strokes?
That seems to be a very popular request. Definitely, I’ll start doing my research for it.
