Good ethics. One rifle. One hunter good lesson for youngsters. A seasoned hunter could take shot. But we need to learn our limitations....congratulations on a good hunting exoerience
Hey Tom You and Alex just made some special memories for you both. Great footage of the deer, and those Bucks were awesome. Alex is a patient young man and I see he is going to be a great hunter. God Bless
Great effort, Alex! Hunting isn’t always about the catch-it’s about the time spent with loved ones, the memories made, and the lessons learned. You’ll get your deer next time! Keep at it and cherish those moments with your grandad
Another season in the books. A shame Alex didn’t get a closer, more open shot. The deer were certainly moving, but just out of range. Being that close will hopefully peak his desire to pursue that buck next year. Until then!!!
Great that you could get out in the woods with your grandson. I enjoy it so much with mine too. Hope to see him on the gun range with you learning to shoot accurately. Needs experience and you are definitely the one to teach him. Thanks for sharing.
With him being younger it’s understandable that you didn’t want him taking long shots but that gun is completely capable of shooting with complete accuracy at longer ranges
I know that there are some crackshots out there that can shoot out to 200 yards with a round ball, (maybe further?). We never shot it that far, so we didn't know where it was hitting at that distance. Plus, the round ball loses alot of energy past 80 yards.
Good hunt. Between now and next year, maybe you can set up some tagets right there in those woods. That's good practice and a good confidence booster for a younger hunter. No need to put that nice rifle away until next Fall. IMHO 👍
