This is exactly how the media should be addressed. It is part of his job, yes, and he is obliging his duties (creatively). We all have aspects of work that we hate, such as dealing with stupid fucking questions. I'm not a Seahawks fan, but Marshawn is my favorite player. Finally, an athlete treats the media scum properly. Skip Bayless is part of the media. That should tell you how much value the media actually has and deserves.
I agree. It's stupid how they harass this guy. Is he immature? Sure, I guess, by professional standards. But is the guy really doing anything wrong? Does he really hurt anybody? If the league doesn't like what he's doing and they want to fine him, fine. Fine him a couple thousand dollars, or whatever, to get your point across. But some of the fines are ridiculous, given the offense, and not proportional to the crimes, which are usually pretty minor. They've put this guy in an un-winnable situation. They want him to talk, knowing full well he doesn't want to talk, and if he does talk, he's going to be annoyed--and then they're going to fine him for being annoyed. He'll get fined for this. It's stupid. Worry about important stuff and some of the other shady things going on, and leave the man alone. I don't agree with a lot of the things he does, either. But this employee/employer thing is a two way street, and here you have a guy who plays hard every game. He is good for the league, not bad. He puts out a good product. And they waste all kinds of time trying to make a childish point that really isn't necessary. That is not being a good employer.

No, he gets paid because he brings in more money than he is paid. Same for everyone else that works for-profit business. His contract involves both playing football and promoting the team. Simply moving the ball makes nothing, it is making the team marketable, making the team something that people will pay for that keep them in a job.
