Growing Venus Fly Trap Plant Time Lapse (161 Days)
Вставка
- Опубліковано 22 бер 2023
- Watch a carnivorous Venus flytrap growing and eating before your eyes in this time-lapse. A dormant flytrap was planted into a pot filled with soil mixture and moist wood fiber on the surface. We placed the pot into a terrarium to retain its humidity as long as possible.
It took around 3 weeks to see a new growth and another 30 days after that for the plant to develop into a fully trap-leave. The plant kept growing and had more leaves through time. After 4 months, we fed it with some flies and worms to see how Venus' fly trap eating and digesting. The more they eat, the larger the traps were developed. - Розваги
The bug getting half his body disintegrated while he’s still alive was pretty rough to watch
Baby flytraps are my favorite baby plant.with their little tiny traps. Right at 2:30 the teeth coming apart💚
Early spring is exiting to watch them emerge from dormancy. Always funny to me . When people think something is wrong , when the first petioles lay flat with no traps on them . Not realizing they produced for strictly photosynthesis.

When the fly trap got the flies it def said "finally, some good fucking food"
This fellow worked for 161 days to make this video but in case of me, I would have given up in 1 hour. Really nice video fella, nice job. Keep making more fantastic videos like this. 🙂
Question;
1- light time
2- humidity
3- substrate
4- how long it takes to sprouts
1- Lights was always on
2- We didn't track the humidity, just placed it in a terrarium and filled the bottom with some water
3- Mixed from perlite and peat moss, ratio 1:1
4- As you can see in the video, it's around 3 weeks
@@eLapseTime thanks
@@eLapseTime I only use rain water for my venus fly traps. Do you use rain water as well?
@@GerbenWijnja Yes, rain water only
@eLapseTime also you can use distilled water
Damn the fly trap looks fire
Im truly happy you put that centipede in that fly trap.
i forgot that venus flytraps grow from seeds 💀 like it didnt occur to me that theyre plants
nice timelapses, always great to see the traps developing :)
Ay it’s claus’
I love how your profile picture is a cape sundew lol
What led lights do you use for the plants?
So cool how it ate the flies, nice work!
A nice project to do together as the months go by..this would be cool to watch😁
I love seeing the traps grow
I recently bought 1 and planted 3 kinds of carnivorous plants 1 of them being the venus plant and I was wondering if the white stuff popping up is sign of them starting to grow or not
Great video , thanks for sharing.
wonderful video! thanks
I just ordered some Venus fly traps from eBay! I can’t wait for my to grow 😝
Wait to the leaves keep dying and more continue to grow?
Where did you buy the seeds??
Where can I find this terrarium? It is exactly what I'm looking for.
My Fly Traps Grew upwards but dint grow from a leaf like on this one. Is it diffrent from growing from seeds?
You probably have a different species of flytrap from the one in the video. Based on your description you most likely have a “Spider” variant
Fantastic video! Thank you for your work and efforts!
Hi can you do a time lapse about gladiolus flowers.
Love how they just die out then regenerate lol
I use these types of videos to fallow the growing rate to my own plants . From their first non trap petioles, used strictly for photosynthesis in the spring , to longer summer petioles and good trap sizes and rapid turnout . To shorter fall petioles and the largest most rewarding trap sizes .
How many seeds did you plant?
Just got one of these and was curious how big they get, thank you!
How’s yours now?
@@Albie_yt The traps are turning black, so I'm not really sure what to do
@@deepcharmz is it getting enough light ?
@@Albie_yt yes, it sits in my window
@@deepcharmz how often do you feed it ?
Where to buy the plant
Theres some at lowes
Where you buy the Seed? 🙏
We found this at Lowes
@@eLapseTime thank you
What did you put thr plant inside after you planted it?
It's a terrarium
How do we buy that seeds?
How do you get around the changes of light if you don't mind me asking? How many hours between each photos. I understand timelapse but don't understand how you don't have variance in light since I know these need good amount of light?
The light was setup in a studio, so it'd stay the same all the time. The timer is set differently depending on types of plants, growing stages, etc... Typically around 40 mins to few hours.
Weird mine started growing moss but i think i see 3 fly traps growing
Nice video. so cool.
Where did you buy the dormant flytrap?
We found it at Lowes
Cool
Monster plant.
LOL😂😂😂
I have a Venus fly trap and it died after feeding it some flies. I wonder if I feed it to much.
Mine died after I fed it ground beef . I was told fat is not good for them .
@@khalajanskitchen7456 LOL what were you doing feeding it ground beef!? hahahah
@@khalajanskitchen7456 feed it wasps better it's like fillet mignon for them. And crickets if you can catch some.
My one likes Disney +
Nice 👍🏻

Lol didn't expect a whole ass Islamic prayer or sumthin😂
Crazy how some of them just die off to the side
I was thinking the same he wasn’t feeding them I think as much as they need food
Great video.. Did you manage to get a stalk on it with more seeds? I did before and when on holiday, my aunt watered it - with tap water. I came back to a black plant like the dead ones seen around the main plant in video. Going to try again but collecting rain water first before I order one. They are quite partial to small amounts of cheese and a bit of ham. NOT too much - about the size of a small fly. Smaller than those in video. It's how I got the stalk growing which you don't normally see in videos..

Use distilled water or rain water like you said
Nice videooo
so it needs around 20 days since the leaf is visible to form a trap...interesting
omg😮
Asombroso
Did you see one of the Venus flytrap die😢
👍👍👍
are they seeds or bulbs?
It was a dormant tuber/plant
@@eLapseTime thanks
@@eLapseTime and can you tell me how to buy one since I can't find them or I don't know what name to look for Venus flytrap seeds or Venus flytrap bulbs, I don't know can you tell me😢
We got this one from Lowes. You could also look online for the name like Venus flytrap grow kit.
It's called a rhizome.
Pwede pala yan kala q healthy leaf pulling lang😅
Why do my seeds look so small compared to yours
Ours wasn't a seed. It was a dormant plant/tuber.
@@eLapseTimea dead plant?
@@neppie14.'Dormant', it's kinda like the plant is sleeping/inactive.
Bugs inside the Venus Flytraps
Why feed em a meal worm?
It was a only choice, we had. In winter here, it hard to find any insects or bugs 😒
0:48 it eats a mosquito
2 of the traps died
Why you k!ll all insect 😢😢

I'm also thinking of that plant with tendrils that are sticky..Wouldn't mind trying to get one on them living in my room. I can't think of the name of them. Pitcher plants can get too big so it's not those. Hang on while i wiki it!!
