Thanks for the video. Can you also paint with acrylics on top of the neocolor ii ?

Yes, but spray the painting with a fixative first so that it doesn’t smear or lift the pastel.

Hi Dorothy! Please use a professional quality UV protectant SPRAY varnish such as Liquitex, Golden, or Winsor & Newton. You can learn more by taking my course "Loosen Up and Find Joy in Your Art". It was my 1st, and still my most popular, course. This video was a sample of the course. You can find more info on my website.

@@woodseysmith9582 Hi again Dorothy. Yes, my courses are all pre-recorded and online. Once a course is purchased, it can be used over and over, including supply lists and downloadable PDFs for you to keep and use whenever you want to. You can have multiple courses going at the same time. I have students who have taken all off my courses and keep all of their PDFs from my courses in a binder and they go back and redo my courses from time to time. I have a free private Facebook group for all of my students of my courses to post their work and ask questions. I pop into the group daily so I can easily help with anything that is needed. Most of my courses (with the exception of "Loosen Up and Find Joy in Your Art", which is where this video came from) include 3 separate painting demos and bonus lessons, so they delve deeper into demos than what you find here on my UA-cam channel. You can use the coupon code youtube-hydrangeas to save 12% on my course "Hydrangea Gardens" valid for the next week (expires on 8/30/24). kathleenrietzartist.thinkific.com/courses/hydrangea-gardens

    Neocolor! What s this?

Neocolor II are water soluble wax pastels. You see me demonstrate how to use them in the video. You can use them wet or dry. Spraying them with water will make them run down the canvas. To seal them, you will need to use a spray varnish. I teach the entire art technique in my online course "Loosen Up and Find Joy in Your Art. kathleenrietzartist.thinkific.com/courses/loosen-up-and-find-joy-in-your-art
