    Thank you, thank you, thank you! I have watched video after video for these and I hav not seen any one show me anything as informative as this video. The fact that you’re passionate about this product shines through. Your not just doing some swatches and trying a couple of blends, you have a through and in-depth knowledge of this product from daily use. With a product as different as this only real use of the product can do it justice. As far as I’m concerned these influencers need only be talking about products they know something about, otherwise it’s doing the product a great disservice. I knew I loved them, but could not quite get them to preform like I felt they really could. My head is bursting with ideas now. I will be watching more of your videos and subscribing, but I felt strongly you needed to know how much your video helped me. Again THANK YOU 🙏

      THank you so much, your words are heartfelt. I love this product so much, I use them in almost everything I create, but in different ways, they are so versatile. It makes me happy to share my knowledge and give ideas to try. It opens the windows to new ideas, thoughts and creations and that is what art is all about!

    I bought my tin of 10 Caran d'Ache neocolor II pastels whilst on a trip to Brisbane a few years ago and only recently started to use them as pastel crayons, adding a bit of water to create effects. I had written down details of your video and popped it into the tin around the time I brought them home and only now got around to watching the video. Absolutely wonderful what can be done with these. Opens up a whole new world for me. Thank you very much Jane for the inspiration.

    I bought one of the sets, now I am on a quest to add to my collection open stock! Gahhh that yellow ochre (?) color in the beginning was great. I tend to normally either paint abstract’s or landscape. But I am teaching myself simple loose florals with the line work. I think that’s where you hooked me, I’ve attempted that same flower 🌺(not as well) but I can see now how I can sit with my sketchbook & these in the evenings and just doodle. I’ve been looking for a way to do that without having to have the whole nine yards set up. The use of all the other mediums was honestly a game changer for me also. I can see so many things in my head I want to try now.

      I'm sorry about your house. How awful. It makes me so sad when I hear of things like this. I feel like most of us don't ask for much. We just want a comfortable, warm, safe home to raise our families in, a little car to go to work with and health! Maybe go on a little vacation once in a while. It is sad that we can work all our lives for something that can be taken away like this, any moment. I wish you and your family the best. P.S Don't worry. God hasn't forgotten you. I promise.

    Thank you so much for this! I got these awhile ago, then got really sick and kind of lost my inspiration to use them. In my brain, they were akin to solid watercolor, so I'd never thought to stamp with them! That's such a wonderful technique to use with them.
    In case anyone is looking for ink tools that work over them that are not going to break the bank, I've found many but have a few I love. Kurtake Bimoji Fude brush pens and Pilot Uniball gel pens are excellent. The gel pen is great for fine lines and hatching. The Fude brush pens come in various sizes and if you fall in love or want to get a refillable out of the gate, there are refillable versions from Japan available on Amazon. Anyone who likes Tom Bows dual-tip markers will want to try Fude pens! Just check that the ink is archival and waterproof.

    What a great video I was on the fence about getting these or derwent inktense but I really think these are more versatile, Thanks for showing us these techniques

    • @TwistedArtdesigns
      @TwistedArtdesigns  5 років тому +2

      Sandy Wilkie i have derwent inktense...rarely use them. Not my fav. For me they are grainy and hard to get a smooth blend. I prefer neocolor II. But I always suggest buying a few of each, open stock to see what you like, then invest in a larger set once you try them.

    • @ladymuck2
      @ladymuck2 3 роки тому

      Twisted Artdesigns if you use a brush to pick up th pigment from the inktense pencil the same as you did with the neocolor you get past that grittiness issue

    I found (by way of using these for nail art) glossy white countertop tiles, like the individual ones you can buy at Lowe’s or Home Depot, for 99 cents to maybe a couple dollars depending on the size, make great little pallets as well as glass. I put no slip grip pads underneath, and they’re small so you can pack them in your art travel bag.

      Mary McCarthy Thank you Mary! The glass was a piece of tempered glass with stick on rubber circles to keep it from moving on your worktable. It is a glass cutting mat but I use it as a palette for mixing colors.

      Jennifer McCall I got the larger tempered glass piece about 14 years ago, when

    Great ideas!! 💓 I never thought to use varnish as a medium. Which varnish do you recommend?

    • @TwistedArtdesigns
      @TwistedArtdesigns  4 роки тому +2

      Jamie Jones I have used inexpensive brands like Waverly and more expensive art brands and have not found much difference between them. And you choose between matte and gloss finish based on your desired outcome. I prefer matte because I like to do a lot of lettering with uni-posca pens on top and the matte is slightly easier to write on. Hope that helps. 🌸

    Thanks so much for this useful video! May I ask which brand waterbrush you use? I have several but I think they give too much water, very annoying. Yours does not seem to have that problem.

    • @TwistedArtdesigns
      @TwistedArtdesigns  3 роки тому +2

      Thank you. I’m glad you found the video useful. The water brush I’m using in the video is by Kuretake. There is a link in the description box for them. I have tried just about every brand of water brush, and they are my go to. I can control the water much better with these. I also keep a paper towel or sponge next to me While I work to dab excess water onto before touching my artwork page.Hope that helps.

      Jamie Jones absolutely! The gesso basically provides coverage and texture or tooth to be able to apply mediums over it so any of these techniques would work well!
