Not a tank professional but I think it’s safe to say it’s better than most T-72 variants and comes close to the early T-90 variants too.
It’s a good looking modern tank
Its Stronger engine than t90,and More Speedable
I mean even if it is just a upgraded version of a t72 or a t90 it’s still pretty impressive despite all the sanctions and what not
This is a very nice looking, and improved T-72 tank, which is an awesome machine

It's systems are modern and it has than new tank smell, i think though that i'm more impressed at Iran's millitary-industrial capabilety's given that they can develop this and manage to produce quite a lot of them.

The one that was all black looks pretty sickkkk!! It does look like other mbts that are out there but I like the look. Honestly when comes down to comparing Mbts to other mbts or how it will hold up, unfortunately the way to truly find out how it will hold up is to be in a conflict. Now hopefully it’ll never see combat because I don’t wish that upon anyone but it’s the only true way to find out. Also most people are forgetting that you can have the best mbt in the world and have shit training so it means shit. It goes hand and hand.

Good video, but some things to note
At 2:50, the thing you have labeled as composite is actually more ERA, specifically a Relikt variant. The composite is behind it in the turret.
Karrar's engine is 1000hp, not 1200hp. We know this from factory pics, and Iran also produces a 1300hp diesel engine that can be used
Also did you seem the pics of Karrar participating in exercises over the last 4 days?
Thank you! I believe you are right when it comes to armor. The thing is the sources for Iranian military equipment are kind of limited.
As for the Engine's power, all the sources i checked said 1000-1200Hp so i went with 1200hp(It is said to be used in the most recent Karrar tanks).
And no i haven't checked it in the recent drills. I'll make sure to check it out! Thank you for watching the video!
Karrar does have extra composite armor under the Relikt kits. You can see if you look at the production or better say upgrade line. And I guess it's like Leopard2A7, using space as a main factor since it's only five tons heavier than a regular T90.
BTW, you are right about the engine power. I have never seen 1200hp neither.

Do not underestimate the crude, simple & ingenuity MBT by Persian that will surprise the Westeros MBT in the battlefield as Persian weapons xapabilities proven again & again in the middle east war theaters. The westeros only understand the might always right.
I believe Abram tank is 60 tons and has 120mm main gun.
You are not wrong! that is the M1A1 and M1A2 that uses 120mm. The M1 uses 105mm.

@@defenseandgeopolitics both A1 and A2 uses 120 mm, the 105mm is obsolete used by the old M60 pattons and T-55s never used again but only in support vehicles like MGS Stryker.

I wonder if the shape of the turret could cause it to be destroyed easily by a shaped charge. As the turret cuts back into the turret ring between the turret and the main body it creates a pocket where a shaped charge will be concentrated against the joint between them. There are several different MBTs about with this feature. Other MBTs with a fully sloping armour seem less vulnerable.

@@johndewey6358 At this point in time, no tank can resist missiles very effectively with new technology. Like the Turkish Leopard 2 tanks that were destroyed on the Syria & Iraq . Of course, Iranian tanks use special armor & Electronic warfare technology .which is definitely better than Russian tanks because the Iranian people are very smart. The Russia-Ukraine War I saw that most Europeans also used NLAW missiles and the Americans also used javelin missiles against Russian tanks, which was very instructive for other countries, which is somewhat effective without empty missiles. The most important thing in today's wars is the strategy of attack as well as electronic warfare. My country, Iran, is very focused on this electronic warfare and strategy, and Iran certainly has undisclosed weapons and technologies. Like many countries that do not disclose practical weapons. Do not forget that Iran is a powerful country. Also, do not forget that there is a real loser in the Ukrainian war, Is Ukraine. do you know why ?! Because much of Ukraine's infrastructure has been destroyed and it will take years to recover. Russia also did not use any new technology in the Ukraine war, such as the Armata 14 tank and even intercontinental ballistic missiles, because these technologies are for war against powerful European and American countries. Seems a bit odd to compare a new tank to a long obsolete model of the Abrams, the 120mm gun has been the standard for quite a number of years.
You're right. I used it because it's from the same generation and is still used until this day in by the US army. It's not obsolete per say. Thanks for watching.
If Iran achieves 1:1 ratio in tanks not to mention ammunition, sensors, training, combat experience of tank crews, and other small things like US airpower. We may then discuss the obsolete of Abrams. What about comparison to Armata?

Depends, will Iran develop an APS that can rival modern Russian, British or Israeli APS. And if they do, will Karrar be have the ability to be upgraded with these systems? The M1A2 sepV3 from America has successfully integrated the Israeli "Trophy" APS but now weighs heavier than ever. Can Karrar do this without the extreme weight increase?
You can't answer these question until Iran actually does it.
Even if it is derivative of existing foreign tanks it's still built upon proven platform, and mostly it's beyond impressive to see Iranians manage to produce complex weapon systems having in mind that they've been under tough sanctions for over forty years.
But thing is, they never produced six hundred of these tanks as video suggests. They should be very fortunate if they manage to produce couple of dozen of these tanks to mix it up with existing Cold War relics on their disposal.
I don’t know how many tanks they will make, but I know iran has a very huge iron industry and does not need to buy it from other countries, plus they have a lot of energy sources that means they can make everything they need....

There is reason why Russian buildings T14 Armata other than upgrading T90
Karrar is a upgrade kit on irans t72s. it’s not as advanced as russian t90 ms or other rivals however it’s equal to t72b3 as it received some t90 parts from russia. it’s a good one though at least better than regular t90a and that’s why iran is not going to buy t90. The only reason this tank may not get in to the production line isn’t the tank itself but they’re on low budget due to u.s heavy sanctions their economy is crippling.

You were comparing it to a pre-1986 M1 Abrams. It's a good tank for the 1980s, but it's a mediocre tank, at best, for the 2020s.

Hard to say, Iran have a story of showing useless toys only for propaganda purposes as well truly efective indigenous designs, this one whith the exception of the turret shape which have some weakness looks good, doubt that it can deal with Merkavas, Abrams or Leopards though.

While this is video isn't as bad as some Iranian-related trash I've seen there were a number of glaring issues. First off, the video kept switching between the Karrar and the T-90MS; they are not the same tank. Iran's engineers have never been overly successful in trying to reverse engineer weapons and weapon-related systems. I highly doubt that they did more than put some sheet-metal over a local T-72 variant .. like that sleeve seen in half of the video encompassing half of the main gun tube - which, by the way, is totally useless. Not to mention a number of the graphics used ... like when it used the interior view of the Armata crew stations. Putting aside the quality of the crews of these tanks; I fear they wouldn't see the completion of their first battle against an up-to-date MBT like the LeoIIA7+, Abrams II Sep3, or the T90MS itself.
Yes, nothing but a T72 with a face lift. I highly doubt Iran can afford hundreds of T90 tanks just to convert.
