The infotainment screen is better off being non-touch. It amazes me how much people bang on piano black in high-touch areas but then want a fingerprint-laden screen smack dab in the middle of their dash. I like the Mazda dial and a nice clean screen. The biggest thing holding this car back is its power delivery, which needs refinement. The second thing holding this car back is its firm ride, which isn't appealing to the typical soccer mom/dad shopping 3-row SUVs.
Agree 100% with nostyle126 comments. Non touch screen in not an issue, since I'm always using Android Auto wirelessly. Keep refining the drivetrain so it's smoother, soften the suspension a bit. The rest of the vehicle is excellent, though I wish storage was more abundant...
I wanted to like this sooo much...BUT...I test drove it with the expectations of loving it and buying it...Once you get moving it drives very well...BUT...I tested the take off from a dead stop numerous times and it just kept doing this little stutter...compared to the Santa Fe, Honda Pilot, and Palisade...they were all silky smooth...Being shocked, the Hyundais drove the best by far. You feel connected to the road and the steering is so responsive..the Pilot has VERY loose steering, not a fan.
It’s a natural aspirated 2.5L 4 cylinder. If it was Mazda’s 2.5 turbo 4, total power would be over 400hp with over 500lb-ft, but it’s not because it’s not turbo.
@hassansuboh1891 Which Mazda turbo 4 cylinder engine outputs those numbers? To my knowledge, it's about the same or less than what was stated in this video.
The biggest thing that keeps this from being a sales success and explains why Mazda is having to discount them to move them is that Mazda didn't learn the lesson of the CX-9's failures in the marketplace. For large three row wagons, practicality is one of the biggest factors families look to and the CX-90, like the CX-9 before it, is one of the least practical cars in its segment in terms of cargo space (despite being a really big car, it has about the same maximum cargo space as a CRV and is 20 cubic feet down on a Grand Highlander say) and the third row. If Mazda could combine its class leading driving dynamics with class competitive practicality, they'd make a killing.
The CX-90 will do well against the premium marques if the price difference is significant enough. But I think its biggest achilles is not designing a fully functional touchscreen, especially at its price point.
I have one also and it’s a pile of shit. I would not recommend this car to anyone I’ve lost complete power on two separate occasions thank god we weren’t on the freeway. It’s at Mazda as we speak. I’ve gone in 7 times cause the engine light has come on and they have no reason as to why it’s on. Mazda of America is most likely going to buy the car back

Thank you for sharing the video. I've just got my CX-90 PHEV from the recall service you mentioned. The steering wheel is absolutely perfect now.
Thank you for that feedback. I’m glad it’s working out great for you now!
Is it the phev that's only being recalled? I have the premium s turbo plus

It’s not a turbo 4.
Actually the PHEV is a 2.5l 4 cylinder turbo
@@mykelwojcinski it is 4cyl non turbo. Go check Mazda’s website and any motor journalist website.

Literally the same thing happened to me… I was wondering if i was the only person with that issue, and the thing is the car barely has 22k miles
