A very thought provoking video. Wish I had discovered this earlier. I found the concept of moral distance interesting. Individuals might be able to make life better for someone else by sacrificing a little. However, at some point, we would be absolving National Governments from taking responsibility for addressing inequality. More to think about.
Moral distance is based on the new paradigm of "everyone is interdependent". You graduate in life from dependence ... to independence .... to interdependence. The problem with interdependence is that it was supposed to be an upgrade but it has turned out to be a downgrade (when multiple players are in fact seeking a parasitic dependence model).
