I have been doing this system for 6 months and this is the best system for me to crush the ball and straight. You have to hit your positions. If you do you won't believe how good you will hit the ball. I have the training aids and the video and book. That is all I need and practice. I love it. Thanks Todd.
Hey Todd. I'm Brett originally from the Hamilton/Burlington, now in Niagara Falls. I met Master Moe when I was 17 in 1990, and got to play a round with him at Hidden Lake Golf and country club, and even had a handful of driving range opportunities in that year. I played with one of his fellow Canadian Golfers, Gary Bartlett for about 15 years afterwards , Gary still holds 13 course records and was the youngest amateur to play in the Canadian open , in 1960 at age 15. They knew each other well. I learned from both and have the same type of single plane swing 30 years later that I grooved from watching Moe and playing with Gary , every Sunday and trips to Myrtle Beach. The lessons were priceless, and the on course playing lessons, just watching them was even more so. Moe in his middle aged prime was something to see. I watched him drive up to the range in his old Mercury Marquis I believe, and his trunk was filled with clubs, he just grabbed an armful and started. Even at 17 I was mesmerized by him and his striking. I just started again after a 10 year break ( I was a solid 5), and still have the same, short motion I grooved all of those years ago. I enjoy your videos , and can certainly attest that this system makes sense, I briefly learned from the legend as well, and for it to be the normal after 30 years, it certainly made an impact.
Thank you for this. It took 10 balls to really get the feel of this swing, and I don't think I can go back to whatever I was doing before. I didn't lose any power, very few miss hits, and could hit any target I aimed for. It literally feels more comfortable striking the ball. I'm hooked.
Greatest ball striker in history used this swing. I personally couldn’t ever get the hang of it, but if you can figure it out, it’s gold. Moe Norman could hit balls so pure.

Hi - I live in South Africa and I am 82. I started playing golf during 1967 and always struggled to really understand the proper golf swing until I saw Moe Norman swing and hit the ball - it has been revolutionary for me - the single plane swing really works and Tod Graves really explains it properly. I now hit the ball with great consistency and confidence from wedge to driver.
Oh my word!!! I’ve been so frustrated with inconsistency. I watched this video and went to the driving range. I can’t begin to tell you what a difference this system made. Almost every ball out of a large basket went straighter than ever before. Thank you!!
I return to this video often (but I also bought the book).. but what I love about this video is the message about how easy it is to get back on track... get in your positions. Don't think about swing plane because the positions produce it. Perfect.
I've been playing golf literally for 4 months trying to figure out the driver everything else I have got figured out to decent level. I was used to hitting 250 yard slices normally 10 to 50 yards out of bounds or more . NOW this swing has unleashed my true power I'm not a small guy so I knew I could hit the ball hard and now I'm just hitting 300 or more every single time straight down the center. THANKS THIS WAS THE BEST GOLF VIDEO IVE EVER SEEN.
Hi Todd, since 2 month I am using the single plane swing in the South of France, where there is nobody teaching it, I belief in it, thank you for your video's, very useful.
So my conventional swing has been inconsistent for better than a year low 80's one day, low 100's next, index is a roller coaster from 10-15 (14.5 currently). From great shots to complete misses! Coming off a 102 with shanks, blades, toe shots..... I considering skipping my club tournament as I've been NET +10 or more last several anyway. I unwrapped The Single Plane Swing, that has been on the shelf for 6 months. I read the book in one day, hitting foam balls with a 9 iron on golf simulator back and forth, then next day watched these videos, more simulator. Day 3 tournament time, I went early to hit range swing longer clubs, and real balls! Instantly the feel of solid iron shots was liberating, I shot 84 (net -1) for a second place finish on a tough course, windy conditions. The confidence grew and seeped into the rest of my game, I felt great on and around the greens (easier to putt after a good shot rather than a blade or hosel rocket!) and not trying to SAVE a bogey! The nerves (even just thinking you look funny on the range) settled quickly after feeling and watching solidly struck balls! I feel the beginning of a fun journey, with the foundation of a solid swing, thank you!
I've started use you system, single plane swing ,your rules are so simple to follow ,wished I changed to this swing years ago ,the best thing no back pain after a round of golf
Wow wish I had this video last week. Using your single plane solution for 2 months now broke 90 for the first time. Went to play in a tournament to show of my new swing and stunk the place up. Started with bad habits. Not once did I go through the checklist. So simple to do but didn’t think about it. Thanks for the reminders. Went back to the range to practice your rules again and bingo. It’s back. Thanks for the info. Love the new swing. Hope your coming to Henderson Nevada in the future.
Today I found the feeling of getting into my lead knee. If you know what that feeling is you know about what I scored. Thank you for making golf easy. I don't wear a glove or get sore any more with a 10 finger grip and the single plane swing. Can't wait to go play again.
I've been using the single plane swing for about 4 weeks. There is no doubt in my mind that it's an easier swing and I hit the ball straighter. I can still have a bad swing but I don't think there is as much slice or hook on the ball with single plane. Still adjusting my grip and working on irons but I'm am so happy I tried this swing.
Todd, I have been using the Single Plane for a few years now and love it. Somehow I was doing something wrong recently and could not figure out what in the world I was doing. I stumbled upon a video you did about being rigid and robotic this morning and decided to give it a try. Unreal! Whatever I was doing wrong disappeared immediately. thank you so much.
Makes some sense since the body has some "Natural" alignments when you are in the proper positions. When you add a bit of "rigidity" to it, it forces you to reach certain ranges of body motion. Great stuff and thanks for sharing.
All I can say is thank you. I’m a new golfer and my first three trips to the range were frustrating. Could not consistently strike the ball, maybe a 10% success rate. Though most were straight, you can’t win skimming it 50 yards at a time. Today I watched this video and spent two glorious hours just CRUSHING drives, 80% of the time. Most of those were straight. Such an ingenious concept that removes so many pesky variables and I thank you for passing on Moe’s brilliance.
Very tempted to give this a try. I've had a number of coaches and can resonate with a number of things you've said. Always giving drills to do, without ever explaining what I'm actually doing wrong or how I should be doing it. Just vague 'trying to find a different feeling' type stuff. I'm much more likely to prosper with systems in place. Going to absorb as much as I can and pop down the range in a few days.
The single plane swing has been an awesome improvement to my golf game. Tee box and fairway shots have improved greatly with a few trips to the driving range and golf course. It will take some time to figure out my short game using single plane. By far the best golf instructional videos I have come across.
OMG Mr Graves Before all the lock-downs i was playing so badly, then last March i ruptured my Achilles and couldn't play anyway, I have just started playing again and it as been just as bad as it was before, so i have seriously contemplated giving up, i am a senior by the way so have been playing for a long time. However i came across your channel after watching so many others and trying their tips and tuition with no joy, but you have inspired me to give your system a try and am looking forward to going out to try it. Thank you.
Make yourself follow the rules. The rules are what allow for the positions and sequence. Single Plane Address (tilt), Lead knee Flexed, Trail foot down through impact. Just keep following the rules. You cant help but get better. Also, feel free to email me personally at toddg@gravesgolf.com so I can keep up with your progress. Thanks.
Great work your doing keeping Moes swing alive! Was ready to quite the game because of back pain. Tried your method NO PAiN! Could not believe it. Straightest I've ever hit the ball this is only the begining.
Thanks for your effort and sharing the Single Plan Golf Swing. There are many ways to hit the ball but I truly believe the SPGS is the most effective and consistent swing. It takes a while to really get the correct form but once you have it figured out, the rest is fun and more enjoyable.
Great golf swing. Still learning so far by watching the videos. Thanks so much. This is a better swing. Accurate longer. First time I ever had 4 birdie putts in one round.made two of four. Two misses by a hair. The putting grip is good also.
Great stuff Todd. Your videos have greatly improved my ball striking. I don't have more swing speed, but I've got more distance because I'm catching the center of the clubface much more often. I've never understood till now how much distance is lost by this - critical for a 61 yr old.
I am a middle-aged man that has played golf virtually my whole life. For the last twenty or so years, I've had a terrible slice and struggled to break 100. I would lose 6+ balls per round and would go home frustrated but not deterred after almost every round. Then a couple of years ago I watched a video on "The Single Plane Swing" and thought that I would give it a try. It took quite a bit of practice but by the end of last season, I had dropped 15 - 20 strokes per round, gained 50+ yards with my driver, and 20+ with my irons. My ball flight went from slicing to the other fairway to, striping it straight up the middle. This past weekend I played in an annual 3-day golf tournament with 7 of my buddies. All of my buddies were surprised at how much I had improved over the past year. I'm not saying that every shot was perfect but I lost only one ball the whole weekend. I led wire to wire with an 8-stroke lead going into the final round and won by 1 stroke over my playing partner who shot the lowest round of the tournament. The Single Plane Swing has breathed new life into my game and made golf enjoyable again.
I saw a video were Moe says My swing balances my body not my body balances my swing because his swing is effortless i feel that in my swing Iam 64 just started playing two years ago been watching your videos I can tell a big difference making better contact Wow what a game changer
This is my new commitment to myself. Getting a better golf swing. Im officially going to try to pick my clubs back up and put in the work to learn this method. Subscribed and notification bell on.
Great Vid. Single Plane Swing literally change my attitude to the game again. Almost quit due to frustration. Shocked that more top pros don't swing like this.
Thanks Todd. Bought the book. Now going to become a gold or silver member. As I previously mentioned, my Driver has been very, nothing Left. I can aim left Center, hit it there. A few times a fade, but never hook. Irons a little thin, then sometimes (not too often) a smother hook. I’m convinced it’s in my grip. Working hard on the setup. Thanks again.
Thank you so much Todd Graves for the single plane swing . It’s been 15 days since I started playing golf the tradition way and it was hard connecting the ball . From past two days I started watching your videos and on Sunday I practiced single plane swing at home. Today I did the single plane swing at the golf course and my coach and I could not believe how much straight I was hitting the ball it was crazy ... I love the single plane swing and I believe this is the only way to hit a golf ball . I would continue watching your videos and learn as much as I can. Thank you Todd Regard from India
Hi Todd and thanks for your page. Back in the 90s I tried to copy Moes technique....Mark Evershed I believe was teaching it. anyway It worked great then I changed back for whatever reasons. two days ago after watching Bryson D. play I said maybe now would be a good time to try it again found you watched and played 2 of my best ball striking rounds in years. I'm now hitting it further and straighter again...at 65 I hit one 300 yds and went over a par 5 in two. now need to get my putting back..as it was always my best part of my game
This has been a revelation for me. I was very skeptical because some of the elements seemed "counter intuitive"... only bc i had been suffering from analysis paralysis and would be overthinking and tinkering. I played a quick 9 holes today solely concentrating on the principles of single swing plane and voila. Not a single shank, worm burner or a "what was THAT?!" moment. The only "bad" thing is that now have to figure out my club distances again bc I was hitting much longer and straighter.. with consistent impact. But thats absolutely fine with me!! lol
interesting- i’ve applied this recently to my woods and consistently moved my bad slice to a consistent baby fade (so far). i’ve always hit a single-plan type swing chipping and with short irons -and only felt comfortable and consistent with those clubs. Did not think I could perform that type of swing with long shafted clubs but have been really impressed by the ease of the swing and consistency!
Todd, i used this with my irons to cure a horrendous shank due to early extension. Massive difference very quickly although my fellow players say it looks a bit odd.
@@mikeraven8573 How do you start the downswing of the Single Plane swing? It starts with the proper backswing. Moe Norman would say "As I'm going back, I'm coming down". This describes the Transition where you must have stabilize the pelvis in the backswing so that you can move it correctly into the lead knee in the downswing. This video discusses the subtle but highly important movement we call the Transition. I always seem to play much better when I practice less. Over swinging and changing so many little things screwed me up for a bit. This is an excellent set of rules to remember when I start overthinking my swing after a bad shot
Hey Todd, with regards to the PK Swing Thing ... you won't believe this. For a while my main "swing thought" or "swing feeling", perhaps, has been: "imagine there is a chain on the end of the club and you need to keep it taut" I found that this really helped my swing. Then I see the Swing Thing and my jaw dropped: "that's it!" I think you guys are onto something there. I want to order it, but those international shipping charges, ouch. You need a distributor over here in Europe.
Could be coincidence but I practiced this a lot today and then went to the range and hit balls then played 9 holes. i usually shoot ~85 and I shot my personal best nine holes at -1! This system trains you to hit down and through the ball. I kept that in my mind and every shot landed on the green or within 5 ft. I’m not sure I’ll play that well all the time, but I’m going to keep trying and see what happens :) Thanks for sharing this!!
Hello, i love it, Thank you so much... Just a question about the stance. Pitching, 9,8,7 etc.. How to know ? Thank you so much for your help.. I play golf for 30 years... I want to do it... Fell so easy.. I living in Thailand Phuket, the dream is to have a pro like you there.. Maybe that you can come with your wife on holidays, i will take care of you on accommodation and on beautiful Golf courses, like Blue canyon.. Why not?? Anyway thank you... I will try my best to do it and let you know... Cheers
Hi Todd, i watch all yours and Moes videos, great. I find it hard to move onto the lead leg during the swing. could you start with the weight on the lead leg, could this help. I note that Moe says keep your lead wrist forward to keep wrists from turning over when you hit through the ball and not turning your wrist over. regards barry Norfolk uk
Todd a question: you said in the set of rules the trailing for stays down but when you do the full strike you do the “regular extension of the foot”. Can you clarify this please? Awesome videos thanks a lot!
Brilliant video, ive gone and tried this method and after a few balls, began to strike them abs pure out the middle of a 3 iron, can we please have instruction using short irons?? ive tried it with a 7 iron and was hitting them abs lovely too, launching them into the air, but do you use the same technique for a PW???
I picked up a 1-Iron to practice my Single-Plane. I figure, if I can hit that club consistently with a Single-Plane, I can hit ANY Club with the Single Plane Swing..!
I quit golf 3yrs ago because of back pain. I started again this summer for the love of the game. Back pain is here again, and bad. I played 18 yesterday and could barely walk afterwards. I'm only 45yrs old... would this system alleviate SOME of the pain?
If transitioning to a single plane swing, do you need to adjust the lie angle of your clubs (i.e., 2-up down to standard because you're standing farther away from the ball)?
Hi Todd, I'm just about to give your swing a test period. It feels like the standard swing of yours is like a tilted old school driver swing, when you lean back, when I started playing golf, I had no problems with the driver becouse of this tilt. I'm about to test this
I love the Vedio and can't wait to try the single swing plan. You mentioned about the ball position but only the wood and driver. How about the irons are they are same ball position or different with each clubs?.
Hey Todd. Came back to this after injuring my back and played today with 0 pain using this swing. Only club I struggled with was the driver. Do you change anything with how you tee the ball up e.g. lower or higher. I think I was skying mine so may need to tee it down?
I'm a bigger guy... barrel chested, shorter arms. As I widen my stance, is it okay if I also close up my stance by dropping my right foot back a bit in order for me to get the club in a good position at the top of the backswing?
Todd I’m great fan of Moe Norman and his ability to strike the golf ball so pure. Bearing in mind often in golf we talk about feel versus real and Moe was adamant he struck the ball down the target line. However when one looks very closely at footage of Moe in action it definitely looks like his feet pointed towards the right and he swung the golf club in a straight pull shot which as you know will create a longer shot as you will get so much more power of the upper body muscles in a straight pull stroke. Wayne Defrancesco highlights this clearly in analysis of Moe’s swing. Bearing in mind your knowledge of Moe’s swing is better than anyone’s what do you think about this straight pull by Moe with the feet slightly aligned towards the right. This then results in a straight golf shot but nonetheless a pulled shot?
It is not accurate to have the toe line (feet) square on every shot. This is biomechanically incorrect. Moe had a radius in his foot position relative to ball position. So did Ben Hogan. If looking at the toe line of the feet, the feet are open with irons and toe line is "closed" with longer clubs. The natural radius when the ball is moved more forward in the stance (especially driver). We shouldn't care about the feet line as much as the ball position.
To me the feeling of greatness is felt on the downswing when my hands release as I snap my wrist back to original position and through impact. Trying to describe it makes me understand why Moe had trouble describing it.
I have toyed with natura Golf in the past, but am now committed to using it for the season. I have been hitting the ball out toward the toe. What May I be doing to cause this?
Fred. There could be a few reasons for this. I dont like to guess without seeing your swing. Did you know you can become a member of our Gold Coaching program and receive a live video lesson that solves your issue perfectly? contact me at toddg@gravesgolf.com if interested.
Thx Todd. Question: what is the spacing between ball and club on ground. Are you hitting like a 7 iron here? Because looks like the lower the number of the club the larger the space. It also looks like with wedges the position is the same but the movement is very subtle. Correct? Thx
Hi Todd, is that a 7 iron you are using in this video, I ask as you set the club head up 4/5 inches behind the ball, so could I ask you if I was playing my wedge - what distance should I set up my club head behind the ball? I would also like to ask you - how does it feel knowing you can play well each day, as I remember one of your first video's when you mentioned in what it would be like to be inside Moe's body to feel just the one time in what Moe feels! I practice in what you are teaching us out here in a field just down the road from me as I am having to take care of my wife who had a stroke, but she is improving and am hoping to get back onto the golf course soon after months in being away, but just now am in no hurry as we are receiving a lot of rain here in Scotland just now! My practicing has gave me great feed back and am hitting the ball straighter and longer, but my wedges are going a bit left, this is why I ask for club head set ups for each club! Thanks Todd!!
Ok. Think of it this way. The club head is ALWAYS beneath your nose. The ball is 5 inches inside the lead foot with irons, inside lead heel with driver. The only variable is stance width. When you widen your stance, the club (being beneath the nose) will be farther from the ball. So in reality, you are always setting up the same way...but your stance width (club length) is the only variable. To answer your question about the wedge, simply narrow your stance and the club is beneath the nose and the ball 5 inches inside lead foot. That is how far you put the club behind the ball.
Thanks for your great comments. Slowly progressing as the other day was one of those really good practice sessions. I payed particular attention to what I was feeling when hitting it good. It was the transition of lower body first, just a minuscule pause at the top. One thing am still having trouble with is thin shots (very little, sometimes zero divot). I always had very shallow swing with hardly a divot. Should I be sitting more into the shot as I begin the downswing or just keep trying to get to my left side more. Our fairways are cut short and the lies are very tight. Obviously at 71, we like lies that have a slight cushion. Suggestions? Thanks
Thin shots are a result of the hands not quite leading into impact. This is usually caused by to little torso rotation at the moment of impact. Practice a slightly shorter backswing and making sure your hands are leading through impact with your torso moving just al little more open.
Todd- I don't see/hear any mention of bumping the hips forward a bit at address. I have seen you show that. How much? Any rule of thumb? I've been at it since Feb. 22. Lots of progress, but a bit inconsistent. I think my lack of clarification on this point may be the cause. I don't recall that this point was covered in the class I took back in June. Can you help?
Have you sent a video to our coaches? The reason I ask is because if you match the Address Model, you should be able to see your lead arm above the trail arm and about 15 degrees of sidebend at address. The club would align with the lead arm and trail arm. This would ensure proper tilt of body / hips at address.
@@ToddGravesGolf Yes. I do see my lead arm above. And I am bumping my hips as per one of your videos. I just was wondering if you had a rule of thumb for just how much 'bump' is involved. In some of your videos I can't see if you've bumped, or not. Camera angle? ...Also, as luck would have it, I just stumbled across your video on the sole plate position of the driver, which is something else I suspected....I have not sent in a video yet,,,,John
Was once a 1.2 HC golfer. I have a difficult time shooting in 70's (5 times this year) since now a 6 HC player and having played for 40 years steady at my club and never a leason----do I do what? Swing in single plane to get back to 1 HC? I'm now 80, but am up to 6 HC. Answer me this. Is a single plane swinger better than a two swing swinger.
Todd--- Is the overlap grip absolutely the only way??? I have been trying "Single Plane" now for over 4 months-- I have the interlock grip--I have made many adjustments but this is a tough one for me-- Thank you---
Todd, I have been experimenting with the single plane swing with mixed results. I am thinking about abandoning it because it's golf season and i can't stand big misses while I am playing with my group. I have been using the orange whip which has helped with tempo and fundamentals, like the sequence. Is there a way to combine single plane training with the orange whip? Thanks, Dan
Ok so I am 3 weeks in to the single plane. What does it mean if I can hit wedges and irons dead straight every time. But I can’t hit off the tee or with a wood or hybrid off the fairway?
I have been doing this system for 6 months and this is the best system for me to crush the ball and straight. You have to hit your positions. If you do you won't believe how good you will hit the ball. I have the training aids and the video and book. That is all I need and practice. I love it. Thanks Todd.
Absolutely the best instructional video I’ve seen, and I’ve watched a ton. You keep it simple and logical. Well done.
Glad you enjoyed it!

Going to absorb as much as I can and pop down the range in a few days.
you have nothing to lose - if after 6 months, perhaps, you don't like the results you can always go back to your "normal" swing.
The single plane swing has been an awesome improvement to my golf game. Tee box and fairway shots have improved greatly with a few trips to the driving range and golf course. It will take some time to figure out my short game using single plane. By far the best golf instructional videos I have come across.
Thank you
OMG Mr Graves
Before all the lock-downs i was playing so badly, then last March i ruptured my Achilles and couldn't play anyway, I have just started playing again and it as been just as bad as it was before, so i have seriously contemplated giving up, i am a senior by the way so have been playing for a long time.
I’ve always wondered why the golf swing felt so unnatural. This single plane swing is really inspiring and makes the golf game fun again!
Thanks for your effort and sharing the Single Plan Golf Swing. There are many ways to hit the ball but I truly believe the SPGS is the most effective and consistent swing. It takes a while to really get the correct form but once you have it figured out, the rest is fun and more enjoyable.
Awesome!
I'm using the single length clubs with the single plane swing. It's working so well. Thank you so much!
Les Hubbell hi thank you asked do you need to change the lie of your clubs switching to single plane please thank you
Did you get measured for the same length irons or bought of the rack
@@vreeke777 I didnt change the lie at all.
@@tonykennedy3469 off the rack. . I have since returned to conventional clubs temporarily until I can afford a higher quality one length club.
I got my 6 year old little girl on this swing and she’s hitting it like a champ! Much more to learn but we’re getting there.
Changed to this method a few years back. So easy and my back likes it too!!
Im wondering the same. my back kills playing my normal swing.
It definitely protects your back. I can attest to this.
It is good to have the feeling of greatness when hitting the golf
ball correctly once in a while.
In my humble opinion, it is also good for the soul.
Repetition is the MOTHER of all learning! simple rules, simple results!
If you have the sequence correct, if not it can be very damaging
Todd
Awesome, i getting good info.
Maybe, just maybe, golf can be fun.
Thanks
Great Vid. Single Plane Swing literally change my attitude to the game again. Almost quit due to frustration. Shocked that more top pros don't swing like this.
Bryson is pretty close... but his muscles are getting all the press now, rather than the Single Plane
Thank you Todd
Regard from India
Hi Todd and thanks for your page. Back in the 90s I tried to copy Moes technique....Mark Evershed I believe was teaching it. anyway It worked great then I changed back for whatever reasons. two days ago after watching Bryson D. play I said maybe now would be a good time to try it again found you watched and played 2 of my best ball striking rounds in years. I'm now hitting it further and straighter again...at 65 I hit one 300 yds and went over a par 5 in two. now need to get my putting back..as it was always my best part of my game
Great video sir
Thank u so much,
Please upload videos about short irons.🙂
This has been a revelation for me. I was very skeptical because some of the elements seemed "counter intuitive"... only bc i had been suffering from analysis paralysis and would be overthinking and tinkering. I played a quick 9 holes today solely concentrating on the principles of single swing plane and voila. Not a single shank, worm burner or a "what was THAT?!" moment. The only "bad" thing is that now have to figure out my club distances again bc I was hitting much longer and straighter.. with consistent impact. But thats absolutely fine with me!! lol
Yes. I get it. Stick to the basic principles and it works. Thanks for the comment.
interesting- i’ve applied this recently to my woods and consistently moved my bad slice to a consistent baby fade (so far). i’ve always hit a single-plan type swing chipping and with short irons -and only felt comfortable and consistent with those clubs. Did not think I could perform that type of swing with long shafted clubs but have been really impressed by the ease of the swing and consistency!
Todd, i used this with my irons to cure a horrendous shank due to early extension. Massive difference very quickly although my fellow players say it looks a bit odd.
I am now enjoying my game a whole lot more, thanks Todd.
Glad to hear it!
Todd where can I get the training aids?
@@mikeraven8573 How do you start the downswing of the Single Plane swing? It starts with the proper backswing.
Moe Norman would say "As I'm going back, I'm coming down". This describes the Transition where you must have stabilize the pelvis in the backswing so that you can move it correctly into the lead knee in the downswing.
This video discusses the subtle but highly important movement we call the Transition.

@@ToddGravesGolf Todd brilliant 👏 thanks for this.
I always seem to play much better when I practice less. Over swinging and changing so many little things screwed me up for a bit. This is an excellent set of rules to remember when I start overthinking my swing after a bad shot
Hey Todd, with regards to the PK Swing Thing ... you won't believe this.
For a while my main "swing thought" or "swing feeling", perhaps, has been: "imagine there is a chain on the end of the club and you need to keep it taut"
I found that this really helped my swing.
Then I see the Swing Thing and my jaw dropped: "that's it!"
I think you guys are onto something there.
I want to order it, but those international shipping charges, ouch. You need a distributor over here in Europe.
this video prove you can break it down to small pieces
Yes am sure every man has done that, we never learn, but am reading you well Todd - many thanks!
Can you do a video on iron setup vs driver setup ?
I will work on that. Thanks for asking.
I’m not sure I’ll play that well all the time, but I’m going to keep trying and see what happens :)
Thanks for sharing this!!
Excellent as always Todd. Going to the range today with video camera in tow!
Played a round yesterday, my new mantra is “It’s a system”.
How did it go?
Badly I'd imagine
Sadly, not fantastic..
The 1-iron I can consistently hit poorly, but it actually has improved my striking, but I still need a lot of work
The joke in the beginning almost made me leave but the instruction was amazing!
Im not a comedian. Obviously.
I wish you would break down the swing of Bryson Dechambeau as it relates to Mr. Norman's. Can't wait.🐈
My 9-12 handicap has been about the same for 20 years ....might as well try it this year. Seemed to work at the range but we'll see. Hit it straighter
Great. Let me know if I can help.
I quit golf 3yrs ago because of back pain. I started again this summer for the love of the game. Back pain is here again, and bad. I played 18 yesterday and could barely walk afterwards. I'm only 45yrs old... would this system alleviate SOME of the pain?
Yes. If you do it correctly.
"Don't mess with the Model" Great video Todd!
Todd, again, magic. well put I will try tomorrow, cheers.
I'm about to test this
@toddgraves you have mastered the moe Norman swing
I love the Vedio and can't wait to try the single swing plan. You mentioned about the ball position but only the wood and driver. How about the irons are they are same ball position or different with each clubs?.
Yes
Ball position of irons is typically pretty close to center. Driver more towards your lead foot.
Hey Todd. Came back to this after injuring my back and played today with 0 pain using this swing. Only club I struggled with was the driver. Do you change anything with how you tee the ball up e.g. lower or higher. I think I was skying mine so may need to tee it down?
tee the ball, where half the ball above the top edge of the driver head.
I'm a bigger guy... barrel chested, shorter arms. As I widen my stance, is it okay if I also close up my stance by dropping my right foot back a bit in order for me to get the club in a good position at the top of the backswing?
one of your best videos
I recently had a great conversation with Dr suttie about when he video taped moe norman. He said moe had the purest golf shot he had ever seen.
Love Dr. Suttie
Very sharp and on point.
THX...
You're welcome.
To me the feeling of greatness is felt on the downswing when my hands release as I snap my wrist back to original position and through impact. Trying to describe it makes me understand why Moe had trouble describing it.
Great video. Unfortunately I missed the special for your latest instructional video. Will it be going on special again in the near future.
Which one? Sorry for the delayed response.
I have toyed with natura
Golf in the past, but am now committed to using it for the season.
Correct? Thx
Hi, shouldn't your trail foot stay on the ground? I see you end up on your right toe in completing the swing
Are you fully ulnar deviated with the left wrist at address? Thanks
Great,very helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
Great vid. Can I ask why the club face at adress sits so far behind the ball
If someone was to hit a ball using single plane swing and then use the swing that the pros use, would the ball go the same distance?
Going to try it ...BUT every swing your rear foot came up the rule is feet down ?
Rule is - trail foot down at / through impact.
Camera angle? ...Also, as luck would have it, I just stumbled across your video on the sole plate position of the driver, which is something else I suspected....I have not sent in a video yet,,,,John
i have problem with hand moving first on downswing, as a result hooking the ball, please be advised
Can one adjust ball position for personal preference? And can one set up the club closer behind the ball?
please see my video on ball position on my channel. Thanks.
Brad Junes yes.
Brad, being a 6 at age 80 is flat out sick, sir.
Best of luck getting down lower, but you are obviously a hell of a player, and have been for decades!
Hello Todd
Can you advise whether there are any "Now Norman" clinic's or teaching professionals operating within England.
Thanks
Kieran
I think the potential for a better golf game using this swing type is evidenced by the recent success of Bryson Dechambeau.
Agree.
Why is your club so far behind the ball at set up - i'm sure there is a reason for it and would like to know why., thanks in advance!
Todd--- Is the overlap grip absolutely the only way??? I have been trying "Single Plane" now for over 4 months-- I have the interlock grip--I have made many adjustments but this is a tough one for me-- Thank you---
I have found overlapping to be the most efficient way. Other ways cause issues. I think interlock is the lease efficient.
@@ToddGravesGolf okay overlap it will be you're my coach
Todd, I have been experimenting with the single plane swing with mixed results. I am thinking about abandoning it because it's golf season and i can't stand big misses while I am playing with my group. I have been using the orange whip which has helped with tempo and fundamentals, like the sequence. Is there a way to combine single plane training with the orange whip? Thanks, Dan
Ok so I am 3 weeks in to the single plane. What does it mean if I can hit wedges and irons dead straight every time. But I can’t hit off the tee or with a wood or hybrid off the fairway?
It could mean ball position or lead knee is not staying flexed through impact.
Can a single plane golf swing help me with my sleep apnea?
Where is your weight at address and throughout the swing?
When did this stop being called Natural Golf? Do you still need longer shafts, and thicker grips for optimal results?
When I purchased Natural Golf. You need clubs that fit.
Are clubs still being made specifically for this swing system?
