Thought I was starting to understand the Camera.... you introduced me to a options I was not aware of. Just came in here to see what software to use for recording and left with a wealth of Knowledge... Thanks
This! Engagement from kids, specially elementary and kinder would skyrocket. It's a lot more learning-friendly to have a cute fuzzy critter on screen rather than a normal boring person lol! I dreaded when we had to watch videos for something, and it was just a person in a plain background lmao
In short, the blue button shows the pins. Pins 1,2, and 3 are separate angles you can lock in place by clicking the yellow button twice. After you lock each one in place, you can switch between them while recording for live jump cuts.
I'm new to VRC. Man, I think you really have talent of being a good teacher. no useless nonsense, just make those details clear and sorted out, I learn a lot and never feel boring during my watch. thank you
This helped out immensely. I just started filming for UA-cam again after such a long time of fixing irl things. Trying to keep the camera in place was a hassle so thank you for showing me that I can do that with the yellow button!
I believe the blue button allows you to set up to three presets for the different modes. Normally, you'll want to use that with the filters, but you should also be able to use it with the camera modes. Also, Sony sold Vegas to a company called Magix, so you can get that from them. They have some darn good deals on it sometimes.
Great video! The buttons have moved, however they still have the same functionality. If you’re having trouble clicking on the camera buttons, it might be because you’re too close to the camera. You have to get back far enough from the camera to be able to click them with a controller.
I could be wrong but after doing some research it appears that in order to access the VR stream camera, you actually need to have a VR headset. For those who don't have one, can this concept still be applied or no? - Stream Camera (VR Only) - Access in the “Camera” menu. While using a VR headset, use the Stream Camera to mirror the camera’s view to your desktop. Ideal for recording or streaming in third person!
Thanks for a really helpful video, ive just recently gone full vr on pc and been trying to get my head round the vrchat in game camera. This video just made it all so much easier to understand.
A few things to add about OBS... 1. It is recommended to record videos in MKV containers instead MP4, because with MKV the files will still be usable in case of a crash which is not the case with MP4. The codec is the same (H264). OBS has a built-in converter to convert your MKVs to MP4 afterwards. 2. It is very important to choose one of the hardware accerelated options for the H264 encoding. Default is x264 which does everything on the CPU propbably ruining gaming experience. If you have an Nvidia card, use "nvenc", it will do the encoding on the graphics card, minimizing the impact on frame rate. 3. Depending on which VR setup you use it can be a bit tricky to record the sound properly, because you want to record both, the game sound and your voice at the same time. Experiment with the different audio source options and add those sources to your audio input list to find the correct ones.
It would be really cool if one of the tutorials on using this camera included the crucial detail of how to pull up this camera in the first place. An added bonus would be if one of the tutorials would make it clear what platform and version of VRChat I need to get my hands on in order to be _able_ to pull up the camera. Because so far, I have tried VRChat on both the Occulus Quest 2 and on the desktop with Steam -- and in neither case was I able to find ANYWHERE the option of how to pull up the camera.
If your setup meets the requirements, the camera button will be available under the main menu. I don't think it is available for desktop or quest users. I'm using an Oculus CV1 with the Oculus version of VRchat.
Is there a way to have both your in game view and the camera view sent to OBS? I’m trying to set up a talk show in vrchat and the only conceivable way to “film” it is to use a dummy account in non-vr mode as the camera. It would be super sweet to be able to switch between the player view and the camera view.
Not an Expert but i think you should be able to have the Window Capture in OBS like shown in this Video and also be able to Record your InGame (HeadsetDisplayView) with the OBS "OpenVR Caputre" Plug In. The Capture Window from the OpenVr Capture is Only showing up in OBS when the Headset is turned On/Active in Oculus or SteamVR Home etc.
Probably would have been helping if you had the phone closer to the camera so we could see the buttons. Also I think you mean a track shot not a truck shot.
My man you started on step two. Step one, how do you even get the vrchat camera out? I only see an option to take a screenshot. Is that only an occulus quest feature?
I understand, though what if I said I don't have the "Stream Camera" option? I booted up my Oculus Quest 2 and started VRChat, but when I go to the camera settings it isn't there is there a way to fix this?
It seems like the audio and the video wasn't synced up quite right. I think the video is a bit delayed. Love the avatar, did you make or do you have a creator you would recommend?
There was an update to VRChat since this video has been made that addresses the audio sync when recording locally. The avatar was a gift from a friend but I believe there are creators available on Gumroad that could make you a custom avatar.
ive been wondering if there is a way to fix the audio recording of other people at a fixed position, instead of relative to what your avatar is hearing. i hate when the person being recorded's volume and direction changes just because you move your head. great video btw, very calming voice.
Ah yeah, I wish there was a way to disable the spatial audio almost as if everyone had a lapel mic. I run into a lot of problems with that when I livestream from VRChat with multiple people.
doing this in online class lul edit: it worked time for some euphoria THANK YOU SO SO MUCH LETS GOOOOOOO OMG I LOVE YOU SUCH A GOOD VIDEO HMMM GOLD YES YES YES AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA edit: you know step two...
On the quest 2 you just press the button to bring up the main menu, and go down to camera. Then press either the photo camera or stream camera, to me they're the same but I've only recently started to use it.
I know Im pretty late, but uh, I have to use a different platform because I have my Twitch stream set up on obs, but even so, I still cant figure out how to get it to the VRChat camera, it just records the window. Help?
How are you getting in game audio to record? My obs shows it picking up the world audio but it does not end up in the stream. My mic is getting picked up just fine same with the game play .
So, when I go into vr chat, I open menu, and I see no camera button. I’ve been searching for a video to tell me what to do to get the camera, or why I do not have a camera button. And I can not find one. If anyone can tell me why I don’t have one, please please PLEASE tell me, I want to start a TikTok page dedicated to Vr! Please help!!
Not the most recent video but exactly what I needed. Thanks.

You learn something new everyday ;D
I came here to check how VR streamers use their camera.
This entire video seems so calming and comprehensive.

You could do these for school kids, they certainly would pay attention, was awesome! Need more!

Thank you my dude! This explained all the questions I had and more! Will be using this in my stream soon :D
Thank you for making this video - now I'm eager to record some VR chat scenes!
Thank you for the camera guide, I've never been able to figure this out and my fat fingers keep pressing multiple buttons at once lol
Same lmao 😂😂😂
Thanks man, I needed this tutorial for my next vid
Thank you for this video i got obs and was so confused on how to record but this made it simple and easy!
this was such a great how to, i have literally no more questions lol

Thanks so much for your effort to create this video. It's very informative and helpful!
Thanks wanted to know how the stream camera worked and you told me perfectly great vid
Awesome tutorial, I knew some of these things but I learned a lot!

You can put a micro delay on your audio input from your Mic on obs. This will make your lipsync match up with your voice in your recording.
That explains everything!!!! Thanks so much!!!! This was helpful
Not gonna lie I’m a little confused but I’m happy to be here :3
The filters are actually handy, you can have the background rendered as green screen instead of the world around you.

Thanks for the information, Tom!
Great video!
Thought the background was a 360 photo til you started panning- Neat 3d environment!
Did you make that from a photo??
Is there a way to have both your in game view and the camera view sent to OBS?

So I would basically need OBS for my Oculus Quest 2 then? Also very nice background music
I don’t know how to press the camera buttons from within VRchat 😅
So helpful thank you so much!
came for a tutorial.
stayed for the voice
Thank you so much for this!!

Oh my god yes I needed this!
you’re well spoken.
Thanks for the info! I never fully understood the camera until now, thank you! Is there any way to make the camera/phone not visible while recording?

It's a VR/PC only thing, it doesnt work on quest and it doesnt work on desktop mode.

I've been wondering how you do this, thanks for the explaination. Also I love the music in this video a lot. What is it?

Do you think the new camera will warrant a new video?
Twitter does support resolutions up to 1920x1200! But the file size must be < 512MB and the video length must be < 2m20s.
This is helpful but I didn't hear how to actually set VRchat as the video source. I sure can't figure it out lol
You could have delayed the audio a bit to sync it up with your avatar's mouth!
nice video :D enjoyed
how do u do they audio
THANK YOU
Does this apply to the Desktop Camera mod? OBS doesn't seem to sync up to where the camera is, but to my POV.
Nice vid
Now Sasha brouse can make the renegade

I’m on quest, does it work on it?
No
one thing.. how you move ur arms and mouth?
what do we do if we have oculus quest 2
Hm.. is there a reason the camera button might not show up at all? That area is blank for me.
I just got a quest 2 😭
What mic are you using?
That is the internal mic built into the Oculus CV1.
are you able to pull the camera out on the quest 2 without a good pc? the only thing i have is a Chromebook...
sadly no
So I need a computer to get a streamer cam on vrchat
I wish I can do this with quest 2 only
Thanks!
How do you spawn the phone? On a oculus quest 2?
On the quest 2 you just press the button to bring up the main menu, and go down to camera. Then press either the photo camera or stream camera, to me they're the same but I've only recently started to use it.
So basically I don't know why but I don't have the camera on the menu
