    Thanks to this video, I went and checked out the Story Engine Webpage and found that the Deck of Worlds had a Birthday Party coming up (noticed you in their live stream too =) I ordered myself a physical copy of the Deck of Worlds. Guess what? In the final live stream on the 17th I won the giveaway. 🤯So the original Story Engine Deck will be included with my order. I am really happy. Now I feel, I have to build the first 20 mini settings or so, in your honor for having introduced us to the story engine. 🥳

    I know Clare C Marshal, who mainly does (or used to, she hasn't done videos since her video on plotting a novel during cancer treatment about a year back) a lot of solo Microscope videos, swears by this product line (particularly the story engine), so very interesting to see your take on them.
    Out of curiosity, is there a reason you went for double sided in your mashup rather than using the same back for both halves of the thing you mashed up?

      I've soloed microscope, it's a blast! If I ever needed to zoom out and do a long span of time on the channel, that's what I would use. As to your question about the double-sided cards, I'm afraid I don't understand the question

      @@theragamancers You showed off making some of the cards double sided by printing similar decks from different products back to back to avoid decision paralysis on which deck to draw from in the video. While this clearly works, I'm just wondering why you took that approach rather than picking one of the backs, and printing both decks with it for the same result of not needing to pick which deck to draw from.

      Ah! First of all, all of the cards for the Lore Master's deck are double sided. There is a primary side with single-word prompts and a secondary side with longer prompts for each card type. So the lore masters deck does not have matched backs to begin with. Printing the secondary traits on the back of the Agent cards from the Story Engine deck gets them to match the Lore Master's deck.

    Im a big fan of the cards from the Story Engine 😊 and I am now starting to use them in solo RPG playing, and I agree the Lore Masters Deck is perfect for that. Nice to see you here, since meeting you briefly on one of their live streams.

    The only correct answer to this question is all of them! :D

    Did you print these yourself, or through a service? I have the PDFs also but have never printed them because I want them to be good quality and uniform.

    • @theragamancers
      @theragamancers  4 місяці тому

      I printed them on cardstock on the library color laser printer, and then trimmed them myself. They are fairly uniform, the variations don't impact how I use them.

      @@theragamancers out of curiosity, what kind/thickness of card stock did you use?

    • @theragamancers

      Bright white 110lb

    • @eric8621

      @@theragamancers Does that feel thick enough, or would you rather have found something thicker or laminated them in hindsight?

    • @theragamancers
      @theragamancers  4 місяці тому

      @eric8621 It feels like a good thickness to me. Lamination would be too much of a pain with 1000+ cards.

    How much do you have to print with the base Lore Master's Deck? I'm heavily considering it but want to know what I'm getting into resource-wise.

      The "eco-print" size is 50 pages, so 25 pages front and back.
