This reminds me of the travel games my grandma got my sister and me for roadtrips. Nice memory, thanks. I actually piggybacked on a friend's Temu order to get a magnetic 3 in 1 (Chess, Checkers, Backgammon) for the one this video inspired me to make. That way I have the checkers that can be used for terrain. I LOVED the idea of Chess pieces as minis. RIght now, I'm trying to do a hexgrid to fit in Inkscape. Hope it looks as good as yours when I'm done.
This is a great idea now you have me thinking thanks for sharing. I remember having a few of the little folding games like the chess board as a kid. The tin is also very nice I can see the benefit of gaining a dice tray from either the lid or body of the tin.
Now this is super smart. I also had a small chess set at home and I've decided to turn it into a pocket set like yours but also I got myself a slightly bigger magnetic chess set for when I'm home. Really your idea is brilliant, thank you!
How large are the individual squares? I have ordered the chess sets and want to go ahead and look for printable grids for when they arrive.? If I know how big the squares are, I can search online for the correct size printable. :) Thanks
@oziasblackwood1995 Well, I can't say precisely, because maybe the one you got is a different size than mine. And I did Crete mine myself on Canva, by measuring my box and making a 10x10 grid that fit that box. In my case the box is 12.5cm and each square measure 1.2cm, but again, I made it myself

You could just peel off the magnets to use as a grid. Then use the box as a mini GM screen.
That's really cool!!!!
Now you need some hex inserts for overland travel!
Ohhhh you just have an awesome idea, I will try it and if successful I'll make a video on it

Thank you for the feedback :)
Would you be able to show this in action? It would be awesome to see how you use this for playing.
Sure, I'll record a video or go live at some point showing it
@SoloRPGPlayer 😎 awesome
