I bought my Wrangler 3 months ago and today is the first snow day of the year in Connecticut I tried to move the car and it was stocked in the snow, I didn’t have any idea how to use the 4H… and I started to watch videos and yours was the best!!! very helpful Thank you so much!!!!
Thank god for people like you 😎 exactly what I needed was a no nonsense explanation of those scary gears 😅 very much appreciated from down under - thank you
brand new Jeep Wrangler owner. by the 2022 about 3 weeks ago and it was very confused about how to use this gear until I watched your video thanks a lot!
Thank you so much for simplifying the usage of those gears this is my second Jeep and I've never used those gears wanted to know how to use in this year and this video helped me out a lot again thank
I could've used this the other day, lol. 😅 Just got mine a week ago here in SE Michigan and almost did a 360 the other morning! Glad I know now now cuz were about to get more snow tomorrow!
Appreciate the video man. I'm interested to know why you shift the transmission to Parking to manipulate the transfer case? From what I've heard from mechanics is that if you shift the transfer case to one of the 4x4 settings while in Park you can actually strain the transfer case components causing the wear to be significantly faster and lead to a repair needed.
I think you’re about to make me a hero. (7/16) My wife just bought a new wrangler and she’s stuck in a parking lot and can’t get it to go forward or reverse. I think unknowingly her knee shifted it into neutral
I don't think it was mentioned that you are NOT supposed to switch between 4H & 4L at a complete dead stop. Make sure the vehicle is "rolling" between 1-5MPH. This helps the gears' teeth lock in place without grinding.
You save my day! I tried 1st to 4H, then stuck can’t go 4L, after see u video I understand u can’t go to 4H then 4L, u have to directly go to 4L from 2H
Bought Willy’s wrangler two door 2022 few days ago. I can’t move the shifter down to 2H for the life of it. It is currently in N and I can pull it to 4L finally. But I am not able to shift down to 2H since I do mostly city driving. I feel if I keep yanking on it I’ll end up with the shifter in my hand. Already tried doing it in neutral on the gear shifter, did it in drive going 2-3 mph like other videos instructed and nothing. Help out a Jeep rookie here. Hope my comment finds you
I have a 2021 Jeep Wrangler Willys, 2 Door. I have tried everything to change this gear into 2H. put it in park, sped up, put it in neutral, etc. i don’t know what else to do
I have a question: how to drive this Willys in M? I am new in Jeep world, I just bought my first jeep willys JL I’m loving it but once I tried to drive in M and since then in Drive is not driving perfectly
Solid & succinct tutorial Jay! Every other “how-to” on wrangler 4wd is 15min+ of someone rambling.. You manage to be twice as thorough in half the time. Many thanks! Did you ever take it off-road...??
Thanks. I’ve owned manual wranglers but have a gladiator now and it’s a tad different. I know dry payment is bad but tested today in 4H and it would not turn it was jumping making a loud noise. Is something wrong?
It worked. You are right, it is a bit of a challenge but I managed in both 4h and 4l. I see some videos where they say you should he rolling. This is one of the best videos on YT. Thanks for this.
@@FreddyLurch Beautifully! I went to Jeepfest in Jasper, Ga! Did my first trail ride with her and it was a joy! That 4L is no joke! I'm really glad I went with the 2 door wrangler with the shorter wheel base, it really seems to give me that maneuvering room to get through tight spots. I also now have a large row of ducks.
Mine is like super tight or something! I've attempted to move mine to 4h multiple times either in park or drive and it seems like a have to pull extremely hard and im afraid of breaking something so I stop 🥴🥴

Thank you I bought my Jeep a few weeks ago and had no idea what that shifter was for! Thank you thank you
Life saver! An 1hr later and manuel didn't help, but you have. Hit auto park somehow?!? But, I successfully found 4L for first time. Bless you.
Great video. I’ve also heard it’s recommended to put in 4L while the vehicle is rolling 2-3mph while in neutral.
Greetings from snowy/rainy california! Heading to Vegas and actually need to know how to use this feature. Thanks for the help

No problem!!
Well Done! Great video! Thank you for making this so straight forward. Awesome!
Great video brother. I live in Michigan as well so this was helpful
So many awesome places in Michigan to off road:) I’m in northern Minnesota now and this helps so much:)
Thank you for explained all the features.
Thank you this is my first year with my wrangler … I’m in Detroit and I wasn’t sure what I should use with this recent snow storm

Have you done a video tutorial on the UConnect software platform which was incorporated into the new 2024 Jl Wrangler Sport I just purchased. Thanks

thank you... i needed this!!!!!!!
No problem
You must be rolling 2 to 3 mph trans in neutral then go from 4hi straight to 4lo do not stop in neutral on transfer case
HERO!! Gonna give her the gear shift tutorial once we get home (like I knew all along) 😁

At 3:19 he talks about driving a slower speeds to change between 4h & 4L.
at 3:19 he was still talking about 2H to 4H.

Thanks, Man, finally the straight howto on a parking position on how to engage the 4WD
I got my jeep four days ago and yesterday it decided to snow like crazy

what about the M+ next to the shifter
If I’m not mistaken, that’s too throw the card in manual mode.
Manual
Thx for this super easy tutorial.

Greatly appreciate this video. Wife and I just bought a jeep high tide and she needed a solid explanation on the gear ⚙️ shifting 👍
Glad I was able to help
he mentions switching to 4L by going to neutral on both knobs and then going to 4L; so that's wrong?
Super helpful thanks bro...
Very good explanation 👍
What is the max speed for 4 L and 4H
Does the diff neutral behave as the transmission neutral? What’s the point of it?

Nothing is wrong. The jumping/dragging is a result of using 4H on dry/wet pavement (no snow, no sand)
What kinda wrangler do u have
My question is can you be moving and shift from 2H to 4H ???
Just got a jeep today and have the same question . I’m stuck from 2h to 4h too
What gear do you use when going uphill or down
I am going to try this right now.
It worked. You are right, it is a bit of a challenge but I managed in both 4h and 4l. I see some videos where they say you should he rolling. This is one of the best videos on YT. Thanks for this.
Yeah some say you can do it while driving but I prefer stationary. Glad I could help.
I have manual so I had to do It a bit differently but nonetheless thank u for this video
Great video, thank you! It helped a lot.
Should I put it in N when I'm driving on regular streets?
No, D drive
So leave it on 2H and drive it normal right
@@josuevelasquez7826 correct
How fast can you go on each gear?
ONly 10 mph in 4 low.
Good video, thanks!
What does the H and L stand for! Great video by the way!
4H is H is for High
4L is L is for Low “speed”
