Crying guitars go very well with a song called "My Tears". Rammstein once again hit the bull's eye with the topic of domestic violence. Just during the Covid quarantine there was an increase in domestic violence. It is also interesting that the violence comes from the woman. Men who are beaten by women are generally considered not very "manly". I especially like the line "she drove him (the father) out of the world". Very subtly Till describes that the father is dead. He either killed himself or broke down because of the psychological strain. If he had only left the house, Till would have written "out of OUR world". The topic of sexual abuse and incest is also hidden in the song. The line "I help (her) out as best I can" can be interpreted in this direction.
This is quite my interpretation of this song too, except the line "I help out as best I can". I see this line as 'he is doing the household chores to avoid punishment from his mother'. It fits more in the whole context of the song.
I can relate so much to what Till is saying here. As a young child, at one point, there were four generations of the same family living under the same roof and the same stifled emotions throughout. It isn't a mentally healthy way to live. Fast forward quite a few years and I've always told my son that emotions are nothing to be ashamed of. We need to leave the big boys don't cry attitude in the past. It's heart breaking hearing the same message coming from Till's character's mother that my siblings and I heard and my parents before us. History repeating itself time and again. A beautifully sad song. Rammstein really know how to deliver a lunch to the gut with their ballads.
This is so sad and beautiful at the same time..Tills vocals and the emotions that you can hear, see and feel coming from him is incredible....
TIll's voice and the lyrics...You can feel his emotions.
1:50 "But she still hits my face" - "Nice"! xD
