- This week, I set out to find small bayous that drain white shrimp from backwater marshes, knowing those would be spots where speckled trout would collect. At my first stop, a ditch I'd never fished before, I hit pay dirt!
Check out the video for all the details.

Thanks again for the lesson on how to catch specks. I see that you do tag them as well, awesome.
I had a strong suspicion that there was a Part 2 to your last video - and man this one did not disappoint. Beautiful bounty and I appreciate your conservation efforts with tagging and releasing so many keeper trout. Looked like a blast - thanks for sharing.
Heading down there from Fort Worth tomorrow to visit my hometown. Thursday is looking like a great day for The Rigolets. Thanks for the motivation!
Just shows you how rich that marsh is right now crazy a little ditch like that holding all those trout and shrimp! No where else in the country is like this! Good video
Kelly
It's alot of fun when you find them like that.
That hard smack of a trout hitting a jigged Matrix never gets old
Shooootttt!!!!! I can’t wait to get home from work damnit!!
I never let my wife around a tape measurer! 😂😂😂 enjoyed the video Marsh man……I miss fishing the marsh. Here in Florida the fishing limit sucks! 4 trout per person 15” minimum length. Heading to New Orleans tomorrow. Have a great rest of the week and even better weekend. 👍🇺🇸🙏
You do the same
I dont get to go multiple times a day or even a week, so I keep what I can when i can catch them. We slammed them last weekend, so I got to have trout almondine and it wss was excellent... Finally have fish in my frezzer now.
They wore my out with a bite or fish onboard for every cast.
Todd, awesome video as usual! Thanks for taking us along!
Found the honey hole! Sweet
👍😎✌
Thanks again Todd.
The fall trout bite is going to amazing this year. Came down from Dallas a couple of weeks ago during the high tide and wind and did really well using the holey joley. They are great to eat and I only get there 4 rides a year, but 25 person even seems high to me. I'll probably get blasted for saying that, but I do love watching your videos Big T!
Good luck on your next journey down here
25 per person seems high but its not the norm me and my podna catch our limits pretty often but i will say none of the fish go to waist every fish i keep gets eaten
Awesome video ! Wondering how far that ditch runs in and how much water is flowing from in there
If you watch, the fish will move up and down these cuts. We just anchor on the side and let them pass thru, we catch several and then wait for the next pass.
Does not get any better! Wish my boat was running! It's all bank fishing for me currently. Great video!
Do you think the higher salinity will keep more specks in the marsh during late spring/early summer?
If the salinity stays high that long, it definitely will. If nothing else, they’ll spawn closer than usual
New sub here. I’m sure you’ve mentioned it but what’s your rod/reel setup? Thanks didn’t see it on the gear section
Okuma Tournament Concept with an Okuma Hakai. Absolutely love both of them
Whats the power and action of your okuma jigging rods
I used to be a dedicated medium-heavy guy, but I've dropped to medium and I'm happy with the change. Check out that Tournament Concept if you haven't yet. I absolutely love that rod.
@@MarshManMasson I have been looking at it bc I seen you use it alot I like it and will order a few soon
Where are you fishing out of?
Hahaha
a marina !!
A boat
I thought the limit went down to 15 ??
You thought wrong
I agree with you about personal limits on Specks. It’s only two of us at home so I rarely keep more than 10. I like to feel like I am leaving some for other people! LOL!
Kudos to you…I wish more people felt that way!
I feel the same way. I’m glad when other people have success, so I want to leave more fish in the water to increase the chance of that happening
I caught those, thanks...
