- The wild west is a famous period in American history for many reasons. Wagon trails, gold prospecting, ghost towns, and constant conflicts are all pure symbols of life on the western frontier. Most representative of the time period, however, are outlaws and the countless criminals plaguing the western frontier with violence and calamity at every turn. For the most part, no wagon, caravan, train, nor horseback rider was safe in the open, untamed lands of the American West, often due to the high risk of running into cattle rustlers, banditos, and other slick outlaws staking their claim to fame, or rather, infamy, on the vistas of the frontier.
A good portion of the stories about desperados and the criminals of the old west center on the wreckless “profession” of being an outlaw. While it makes sense in regards to the culture and lifestyle of westward expansion in the 19th century, it’s still surprising how many men and women gave up lawful tendencies to retreat into the land of outlaws. As an effort to dive deeper into the lives of old west criminals and the origins of their misdeeds, here is the next video in a series detailing infamous men and women of the wild west, who acted as outlaws in the heyday of scum and villainy on the western frontier. Introducing… William Brocius, better known as Curly Bill, and one of the most infamous yet feared outlaws in not just Arizona, but in all the wild west.

Great story on one of the notorious rapscallions of the Old West! Well written, narrated and researched. Bravo!
Ere you you comparing Curly Bill to a unyoin, using that funny word rapscallion. He ain't no wild onion!

Your phone has algorithms in it ....
The kurt russel film Tombstone isn't too far from the truth then. I think it's a great movie with some great actors.
Nice to know the real truth though.

These guys have better nicknames than NHLers.
I've been curious about Curly Bill for a long time. The name Brocius in all its various spellings in in my maternal family tree. My 3rd great grandfather was a Brosius, I have a photo of my great grandfather and if the photo in this video of William Brocius is really him, they could be related. The same facial shape, longish, and the nose and forehead. Thanks for this video.
Thank you so much for sharing, Nancy! You might be on to something. Let us know if you ever find confirmation!
Greetings from Apacheria in the Arizona Territories ahe'hye'e
I loved this tale of Arizona but how come the rainforest never gets mentioned?
Yeppers
@tieawaterman5547. Take some advise from your own criticism. Mared is spelled marred. Don’t throw rotten eggs if you don’t want to stink .
I thought that Marshall Fred White was shot in the stomach not the the leg?
What’s the name of this beautiful soundtrack playing in the background? ..Beautiful telling of those days..
Don't leave out the apaches or my cousin, bert alvord.
Very good presentation although the narrator sounds like Ru Paul...
Miss Mann😂😂
Kind of ironic that Wyatt Earp once saved Curly Bill’s life, then ended up killing him.
We thought the same!
I wish i lived in these times ! I was definitely born in the wrong era .
"Murretta Duarte the HUSBAND of fellow Cowboy Pete Spence". --- I don't think so :)
That was not bean it was Beaman get it right reallylook at your history I don't mean to sound like a bad person but our history becomes mard and miss understood if we don't check and recheck many times when just a mis spelling or not prounoced name thank you
You are also wrong, it was sheriff Beahan.
Honest mistake don't need this harsh criticizing
It was Behan. Not Beaman . If you want to correct someone else and criticize them then you should do YOUR HOMEWORK and due diligence first.
Lol ...
This dude needs to do some real research. The Lincoln County war was fought between the regulators and the Murphy/Dolan crew. Absolutely horse shit here folks !
If he left Lincoln county for El Paso he fled south not east . You map/compass reading skills are lacking and in need of improvement .
Your doing a western documentary what's up with high pitch sissy whisper
You didn't even pronounce Tunstall correctly. This A I crap needs to stop. Misinformation can be dangerous. Shame on you
In addition to Brocius being born in Indiana another notorious character born in Indiana just 5 yrs. after Brocius was Johnny Ringo. Ringo was born in Greens Fork Indiana in 1850. Also the very 1st recorded train robbery was performed by the Reno Gang near Seymour Indiana.
